My breathing slows as I examine the inky black void that surrounds me. There's an eerie silence that I'm not used to. No wind in my ears, no sounds of nature. Not even the sound of my breathing seems to penetrate further than myself.
In the midst of my confusion,
something saunters into my view.
It speaks to me, yet it seems to be speaking to someone else as well. Both near, and distant, there's something about the way it does this that makes the hair on my neck stand.
"Welcome. Now, I'm sure you're wondering why I've brought you here."
The void dissipates like a bad Power Point transition. In its place stands a much less infinite looking city.
"Due to a...situation, I am relocating you to here."
It pauses for a moment and the silence is deafening. I guess God has a thing for dramatic pauses.
"However, I'm not a monster. I'm not going to just dump you there with nothing."
Undoubtable at its behest, the image of the city shifts. It's pretty in a way. The city ripples like water as it changes.
"Firstly, I'm forging you into a new form. You'll need it to survive.
My head feels funny. It feels as though someone is trying to squeeze a cube through a circular hole. I can
feel the intrusion of something whose fragments are greater than my whole. It seethes with tightly controlled rage as it deforms the circle to allow its passage.
It hurts, dear God it hurts!
Secondly, I have an objective for you. Complete it, and I shall reward you with both knowledge and power."
As even the void starts to fade, the figure leans in and delivers a final message.
Makeitstopmakeitstopmakeitstop!
…
"How did I get here?"
I almost cringe as I hear myself. It's a strange experience, hearing a stranger's voice whenever you speak. To make matters worse. My body is off, everything feels different to how it should. My hands and feet are different, my height is different, even my fucking teeth feel-
I take a deep breath and count to ten. That was another thing that had changed. There was something…evil lurking beneath the surface. Some twisted being of malice that… Well, it's unpleasant to say the least.
How did I get here? The last thing I remember was…
A Chevy running a red light as I crossed. Its horn blared and its wheels screeched as the brakes failed to slow it down. A deafening crash.
A red-haired boy Shirou attacking again and again. With his black and white swords Noble Phantasm
he achieved the impossible and bisected my blackened figure.
That…other memory. It was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.
Liar
Regardless, I may just be the first case of some kind of quantum leap. Something merged me with
whoever the original owner of this body is.
Lucky there appears to be someone who lives in these woods. I'll just head on over to them and ask to use their phone. A harsh crack echoes as I begin my sprint towards the
Einzbern Castle mansion.
"Must have stepped on a branch."
The worst that can happen is them saying no.
