You looked at the Cadaver as you closed your eyes and smelled the musky scent of his now rotting corpse. It was time to go to work and see what you could discover about this mystery.
Time to go to work.
Hermann Estermont. Fifth Assistant Director of the Prussian Surveyor Officer of Berlin…Age 53.
The man was not drunk, you could tell from the lack of beer smell on his lips. Hmm, Blood under the Fingernails means he fought his attacker.
Lets look at the Body. Mass bruising on the rib section and stomach means he was beaten with a heavy object…likely a cane following his attempt to fight back, he wanted to make sure he was in pain before ending him, out of a sense of cruelty.
No…it was because Hermann denied him something important.
Cuts on his back mean he was thrown quite far…before being thrown out, likely in the scuffle, the man or men who did this had prodigious strength enough to overpower a strong working man.
Given the Lack of Decomposition and the extreme freshness of the body, he only died less then…one…no two hours ago.
You opened your eyes and smiled. "He was thrown from that building," pointing at the one nearly a few feet away. "Tell me Sargent what use is the building our men died in front of?"
The Sargent scoffed at the insolence you gave. "That's one of the mail houses, we use it as points to deliver mail across departments, and a break room, this was his department's house where much of the office work is done."
Well then…" When did the first officer arrive at the scene?"
"An Hour Fifty Minutes ago," he responded. "We spent most of the time locking down the area and trying to keep the press out of our hair."
USELESS…No…they secure the scene and evidence you can't be mad…
Reward: You have an estimated Time of Death 3:45 PM, Cause of Death Blunt force Trauma from a defenestration after a vicious assault.

You then nodded. "Sargent we're going to be looking at the mans' letters."
"Sir? Those letters could be private and personal, he's not even in the ground yet!" He shouted.
"All the more reason we look at them now." You said as you opened his pockets and then took off his boots.
Letter 1
100 => 3
"A Love letter to a woman named Charlotte." You said. Raising an eyebrow you finished it and put it aside.
"Well what was it?" the Sargent asked.
"Nothing we need to worry about anymore." You said.
Letter 2: D100 => 84
"What are those?" the Sargent asked. "Those don't look like anything I've seen?"
"Expense reports on the Posan region survey and other projects." You said. "Lock this one up tightly."
Letter 3: D100 => 26
"What is this?" He said.
"A Grocery List." You said. "Yams and Potatoes.
The Hidden Letters Contents: 110
You checked both boots and the jacket pockets as well as the pants pockets.
"Nothing else." The Sargent said.
"No…because this particular coat has a sewn-in double pocket in it for hiding other letters from searches." You said.
"You seem to know alot about the makeup of a man's jacket?" The Sargent said.
"Personal experience has led me to believe that knowing how to hide something from searches." You said. "Plus it looks good."
You opened the letter and read it silently…
Track Reports…
Displacement of Trees.
People movement…but not.
Oh…OH Dear!
"We have to get to the Main officer Archives now…Where was his main office?" You said.
"Why would we need to know that?" The Sargent asked.
"Because his Department are witnesses to something greater and may have a link to whom ever killed him!" You said getting up and gathering the letters.
"COME NOW SARGENT! We are running out of time."You said.
Reward: Motive Discovered, Surveyor and the Movemnt of people?

You and Sargent Karl Arnof bashed down the door of the Department office to see a grizzly scene.
You put your nose up and tried to look at it.
Twelve men all in various states of terrible wounds and blood…Blood was everywhere.
"We're too late." You said.
"Dear god…this was almost the entire Posan department!" He said.
"Quiet I need to work, Clear a Table outside and sketch out the scene before we move on."
