Through Fire, Steam, And The Rage of Man (NO SV, YOU Are Plotting Revenge!)

[X]Speak to the Sjem: The Senate is here, perhaps with your skills you can perhaps talk to them about policy or at least a plan to drum up support.

I like this and feel our character is more oriented for this, but I am also ok with the leading vote as it is a good idea to have a sure way out if the need arises. So either way seems like a winning solution to me.

Although we didn't take take the action to ingratiated ourselves with the Sjem, I think we can do more good there. Losing Poland to the Russians would make revolution much harder. By manoeuvring the Sjem to act now and gain some real support, while the revolutionary spirits is at its strongest and we have the most active militants we'll likely ever have, we may stand a real chance at maintaining sovereignty. And I think our escape routes are already amazing.

Having said all this I can see an alternate timeline where Jakob Puch is known in the Diaspora for being the mastermind of their survival, and after regaining some stability in a friendly nation and having more time to invent crazy things and earn crazy money he comes back as a Reconquering Hero with the diaspora at his back. So I'm fine with reinforcing the evacuation winning.

I'm prepared for both eventualities, though much like any good adventure, some fights are not exactly winable...

If only because you'll probably run out of bullets faster then you can kill them.

So something that I have been thinking about:

Is the train we have have any international patents?

So we can make money

The November Uprising Part 1 (November-January 1830-1831)
The November Uprising Part 1 (November-January 1830-1831)

[X]Reinforce the Escape Routes: Best to make sure that these don't fall apart. You may need it.

You looked at Levi and nodded, overseeing the crude maps and paths you commissioned, and spread to the various leaflets and broadsheets that were to be published around the clock to make sure all manners of people got it.

Now came to the matter of Reinforcing the Escape Routes so that they could not be used to track down and eliminate the Diaspora to come.

The Work Continues: D100 => 100 ROLL EXPLOSION!:D100 => 71+13+5 (Levi)=189

And yet you poured into your work like an angry vengeful god. Safehouses were reinforced into full-blown stations and cities in waiting. The supplies gathered were enough for a winter if delayed by war and battle.

A Unique style of messaging and communications was developed so that messengers and their cargo couldn't be used to track down the network itself.

And finally the Casimir was put to use. Having been placed in the final destination and station, Rail Engineers and your students with your guidance built the first rail line in Polish History. Building the line from one of the border towns into the Ponsan Region.

It wouldn't be secret forever but it would hold for a time until at least most of the evacuees were safe.

It would be a great deal, but you hoped that even if this ended badly, the Spirit of Poland would never die.

Reward: The Escape Routes have been reinforced. +50 to all Escape Rolls from Poland.

Choose your Reward for this Great and GRAND SUCCESS:

[]Gain 3 Skills, Cryptography and Smuggling and Transportation: You have gained reasonable skill in these areas due to Organizing a full-scale evacuation network.

I didn't know what to call the plan, so I used my name and I searched for a real weapon that might be around at this point, didn't know if I needed to or not but there it is

I personally think training in a weapon if we've just gained a Hero unit who can protect us is overkill, and I'd like to lean on our strengths as a writer, and write something truly inspirational that could win us more allies internationally, as well as stoke the revolutionary fervour of Poles everywhere.

HOWEVER, @TheHtc123 and all who decide to stick with [plan htc], I was researching weapons from the 19th century, and I found out that Frenchman Casimir Lefaucheux designed the Pinfire cartridge about this time. He patented it in 1835 (though he had a lot of marketing trouble, maybe something he could use our help with,) and one of the things it was used in was a limited run of pistol-swords with basket hilts popular among European officers. So, I'm begging you suggesting that if you want to train a weapon and aren't too attached to the Cuirrassier, let us become a true eccentric genius, and train with a worthy weapon.

I'm not too attached to the choice of gun, anyone who chooses to stick with my plan can feel free to propose a better and/or different weapon, I'd be willing to change the weapon.

Unless everyone else agrees, I'm not sure that I'd be willing to switch to a pistol sword, the key word there was limited, I'm not a gun history enthusiast or anything, but I have searched up on this before, they largely fell out of style for good reason, being unwieldy compared to a standard pistol or sword just to name one.

Ok, now I hear you, but consider the points three:
- Jakob Puch is an eminent engineer, one of the few people perhaps capable of making them work well, and the kind of mad genius willing to try
- Jakub Puch is a Noble Dandy, the exact kind of person whom these weapons were popular with
- Gunblades are fucking cool

Canon Omake: In the Footsteps of his Father by AvidFicReader
In the Footsteps of his Father

It had been a long road to get here, and an unbelievable series of events. Half a year ago, he had been a royal guardsman of France, defending the Bourbon King Charles from Parisian revolutionaries. Now, here he was on the opposite end of Europe to offer his services to a bunch of Polish revolutionaries. His father had fought for Revolutionary France, then for the Emperor Napoleon all across Europe. In those turbulent times, common sergeants could rapidly rise to command regiments, and some rose higher still to become generals and marshals. His father was not one of those men. He was one of the "Eternal Colonels" talented and skilled, who refused promotion to remain with their men on the front. He had fought in the glorious victory of Austerlitz, survived the March to Moscow, the Bloodbath that was Borodino, escaped the Russian winter and the pursuit of the Cossacks to return to Poland. He fought across Germany alongside "Those Glorious Bastards" of the Polish corps, and his regiment remained to support Marshal Poniatowski's holding action at the Battle of the Nations, only to be captured by the Coalition, bringing his war to an end. So indeed, his family history was deeply intertwined with the Poles. He, like his father before him, served under a Marshal of France in defense of King Charles, though his father had derided Marmont's appointment. "MacDonald for France, Oudinot for the Army, Marmont for Friendship," his father had once sneered. And in handling the revolution back in July, Marmont had hardly covered himself in glory, effectively abandoning the guard to be hunted in the streets by revolutionaries without supplies for two days.

"Father was right, the Poles fought hard and viciously for barely and reward, virtually abandoned at Leipzig. Today I repay a debt twenty years in the making."

"Eh, you say something Colonel?"

"No, just reflecting on family history, and how I'm walking in my father's footsteps."

"Strange place to be taken a stroll down memory lane. This here strain station is the future, not just Poland's future, but the future of the world!"

"Yes, well, if I could trouble you for passage for me and my lads, that would be grand. It's been a long march from France, I'd rather save our energy for the Russians."

"Right, it might take a few trips, the Casimir might not be able to take three thousand men at once. And who was it that you said sponsored your, ahem, walking tour of Europe?"

"My patron is Monsieur Sabele Mari. He commissioned us to solve some problems for him."

"And for the record, could I get your name and purpose of your visit, Colonel?"

"Certainly. I am Anselme Victor Severin, and I'm here to kill a great many Russians."

@Cyberphilosipher asked if I had any ideas for this quest, so have a Severin. In this universe, Severin didn't become a Marshal, he stayed with his men throughout the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. This is his son, named for his grandfather, a veteran of the Seven Years' War and the Battle of Yorktown. His middle name Victor comes from the day he was born, 2 December, 1805, coincidentally the date of Napoleon's triumph at Austerlitz. The Severin clan and their "soldiering tradition passed down through the generations!" is from La Chanson, and have retroactively popped up throughout several other Magoose quests. Whether they are part of the same historical continuity or part of some overarching Severin-esque multiverse is left to the reader. In Rebirth of the World, a Severin led a mercenary troop called The Order of Solutions. Here, Anselme has been commissioned to solve problems.
