This will help maintain political support for a more radical Reconstruction while still helping the economy. The other options have the potential to derail support for Reconstruction and I don't think they provide enough benefits to balance that risk. I also generally think it is a good idea to keep greenbacks circulating.

The purchase has already been agreed upon, it just hasn't been formally completed yet. Making the actual land transfer won't make Britain much angrier than they already are, since it's already considered a done deal.

Hm, not quite the plan I envisioned, but I endorse this wholeheartedly. A more radical America, a fortress for the new social progressivism it embodies, and in time, a great and terrible arsenal to defend it. Hopefully, men like John Brown and Thaddeus Stevens are soon to be as common as flowers in Spring. One can hope for a better tomorrow, no?

Hoping soon maybe the Radical Spirit makes us vote soon for an Amendment granting Women the right to Vote, hell maybe a stronger CRA Amendment.
