A war with Britain right now would be fought at least as much on each country's respective homefront as on the actual battlefield—the USA would be reinstituting the draft just after ending it, which would be problematic for multiple reasons, but the UK is also not particularly stable at home at the moment (and not just because of Ireland).

So just a hypothetical here. But what if we shipped all of that "Decommissioned" Union Army expertise and equipment out to all of Britain's colonies that were nearing open revolt.

We wouldn't even have to institute a draft. We just need to truthfully frame it as freeing those oppressed by the British as we once were. Or as a more modern for the time example. Freeing the colonies "enslaved" by Britain just as we freed those enslaved by the South.
