Slice of life with some fights here and there?! Nice.

And really nice that you thought how Taylor would think things through realistic and not just make her have all the answers now.

Wouldn't Ziz disappering make Eidolon's power create another Endbringer?

So since this is going to be a slice of life fic the most important question becomes: Who do we ship Sera with?

That's what I was going to try, though I'm not quite sure how to go about it nor how successful I'll be, considering most of the stories I've written are very plot-driven. I think Blink's the only one that would fit that, and it's got a very different structure from anything else I've written, including this. Though I guess AFHB's 0.x arc chapters would count too? The latest one in particular.

We'll have to see how it goes. I do have some major events planned, and the world of Worm in general kinda makes it hard to completely avoid things happening.
so when Leviathan eventually turns up will zizster join up in the fight or will QA yoink him too and stop the fight from happening in the first place?

Yes, this is possible. Or they'd hate each other. Either way, it'd be glorious.

Other people worth looking out for for FRIENDING:

Aisha, as previously noted, is the right age and a glorious troublemaker. (Also, striking visual contrast!) (also, bonding over shitty parents! :V )

Alec could be an interesting foil in terms of energy level at least, though I'm not sure how well they'd get along. Hrm.

Riley is still a dubious and silly idea. For now.

I could see Sera hanging out with some civilians/non-capes, actually. Fits with the idea of experiencing ALL THE THINGS. Not sure who they'd be tho. (Though Aisha's not a cape right now, so she might count.)

Also, insert joke about Taylor bonding with Brian over crazy sisters here? :V

Because when the social worker comes by to check on how she's/they're doing it's really bloody suspicious that Taylor suddenly quit her job after only two weeks, yet they're somehow getting along perfectly fine without any obvious source of income. That's the sort of thing that screams "illicit activity", usually something to do with drugs and/or a gang.

Not the sort of attention they want. Maybe when Taylor's off her probationary period and doesn't have people checking in on her every two weeks or month, but that's like a year off.

MTG Finance. That is all.

Sera's not really interested in cape stuff herself. Very much "been there, done that", whereas being human is a huge novelty and presents a whole set of new experiences that she's loving. So she's actually more excited about mundane things after only having known powers before.
Overwheming power in diminutive size? the moment you turn around they get up to shenanigans that threaten the universe? they live to break your mind into pieces.. and then stab you with said pieces? Serafina sounds like an honest to goodness normal lil sister to me

wouldn't want CPS to come and take your best lil sister away... here's hoping some jerk doesn't complain to mgmt and get her fired (then who would give her a steady line of work with a legit paper-trail in exchange for her services...)

Actually, thw thing about Simurgh's power being assymetrically balanced between the 2 new zizters got me thinking. What if there is more to the mental link between the two than we think? If Sera gets the telekinesis, Taylor gets the pre and postcog, both get durability, then the mental link between the two might be what's needed to boost their plotting to near-bullshit levels.

I was honestly thinking about Coil somehow discovering Sera's tinkering and kidnapping Taylor as leverage.

Only it doesn't quite work as intended.

I'll say. It'd take Scion to kill even half an Endbringer, it's not like there's anything Coil could threaten to do to her. And if he tried, she could probably just walk through the walls, leaving Taylor-shaped doors all the way.

I once had an idea for a story where Taylor has the power to turn people into her mother.
https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/posts/1685329/ has Taylor become able to convince men that they are her father.

The WOG that wanked Jack beyond all reason explicitly made him an anti-parahuman Master on top of his other powers. It's canon despite contradicting the text, and it's stupid.

Wildbow literally cited a case in the text where Jack subconsciously used a Master power. So, no, it does not "contradict the text".

If his power could do that, Bonesaw would've departed Brockton Bay with a new big sister. Jack approached Amy while she was at rock bottom... and failed to corrupt her. She wasn't even the first member of her family to shut him down.

Theo and Gray Boy both no-sold him in canon too.

Normally, that would just mean it was a weak Master power, not a non-existent one. The simple fact that he could herd cats well enough to hold the S9 together is evidence enough of superhuman ability.

If we're looking at just the pure mechanics of it all, then his "Master" power (assuming he's talking to a shard and telling it what to do) cannot be any stronger than what a shard could normally do to influence its host subconsciously. So, someone like Panacea who basically does everything she can to ignore her shard isn't going to be affected by Jack, either. Someone like Grey Boy who's so in tune with his shard as to be basically one and the same would probably know exactly what he was attempting and could consciously choose to ignore it. Someone like Leet who's completely out-of-whack with his shard might end up doing the opposite of anything Jack said to do.
