Yes from the Fallen point of view, God just murdered the universe.

It is the great irony of all this, the Fallen don't know yet the true potential of humanity.

That will change when the first Mage Awakens.

FYI, other questers, the Rebels' interpretation of this was that it was the worst of all the punishments. It was saying "God doesn't care about you enough to do anything."

And then later on they get to experience Hell, trapped alone in an eternal sensory deprivation tank (for all their numerous senses), unable to feel God.
 
We also now have a good explanation on why God does not really interfere that much or help on the mortal world. The part of him that would be able to do that is severed from him so he really can't do much. And to make it worse the beings that caused such a thing to happen would be humanity itself the same beings that are praying for salvation.

Why would we want to murder god?

Not even considering the reasoning, but the sheer chaos it would have on the angels, both fallen and not, as well as creation would be cataclysmic to say the least.

Fat chance.

Death is the one thing most people would give up nearly anything to escape from.

Up to and including their humanity, their souls, and whatever else they may need to give away.

in all reality the curses just opened them up to the Old ones even further.

God's has, intentionally or not, abandoned humanity, what with fleeing from entropy and all that.

She hasn't abandoned them entirely. Those that are faithful are supposedly gonna be protected.

she apparently had to leave... everything, because of entropy.

and I'm willing to bet the piece of her/him/it that got broken off is gonna become old testament god.... who is actually has a far higher atrocity count than even he worst versions of lucifer.

It would explain the apparent schizophrenia of God, what with being an apparently benevolent being at one moment, and then a sadistic mass murderer the next.

I would think that the curses applied to mankind is meant to fetter them. Remember that humanity has power that can even harm god and surpass her in power. This means that if left to humanity as they were it wouldn't be long until they enter a spiral of chaos and destruction that would ruin everything.

At least with this all human existence is finite. They can perish and even if they do nothing they will still die in the end preventing them from taking full advantage of their power, if only because they do not have enough time.

And, to me, it would also help humanity as a whole grow up. They were created and raised in Eden, a paradise where their every wishes can be granted and nothing is their to harm them, but in this way they are like children having not felt that much major hardship and if you give a child omnipotence then that would only ask for trouble.

right up until they expand their lifespan enough to actually learn they have powers figure out the truth of things and get pissed the hell off.

Humans IRL don't accept their limitations, they tear them down and get pissed off at the thing that tried to limit them to begin with.

An angry teenager is far more dangerous than an angry child.

The faithful will be protected by the Host, that will be one of your duties.

Also God had no time to think deeply, Entropy was such a threat to them they had to mutilate themselves to get away from it.

But at least an angry teenager has better control than an angry child, especially with reality warping abilities. At least creations won't be destroyed if something like that happens.

Are the faithful the ones who never had their potential awakened?
 
The faithful are the ones who faced with the Host said : I will use my new awareness to serve God. Opening humanity's potential was global and once the war gets serious irreversible.

They are led by Abel (who thanks to multi-layer reality is also with his parents) and are a full quarter of humanity, the rest sides with the Fallen.
