The Valkyrior (MCU Thor/Worm)

Depends. In the first Thor movie, it's made pretty obvious that Thor's friends treat him like crap and take shots at him when Thor isn't around. They don't go into intense depth, but it's a very fine line. His slights were his BROTHER is concerned are largely imagined... everyone else is another matter entirely.

This is true. Thor loved the hell out of his brother and never considered him anything but his close friend, family, and equal. It was obvious that Thor's pals did not like Loki nearly so much and he also didn't seem as popular in general.

But Loki did have a jealous streak a few AU wide and took everything extremely personally and did exaggerate every slight against him 'til the slightest perceived snub was treated like a war crime.

I have no idea how he got the idea that Thor held him in anything but the highest esteem though. Thor very obviously refused to listen to anyone who would say the slightest bad thing about Loki and had to have Loki's betrayal damn near kill him before he believed it.

I think it was more tied to his parents than anything. Odin saved him and took him in, but I don't think the share of affection was distributed equally between the parents. Frigga clearly loved both sons dearly/the same... Odin... less so. (In the movie. I've long since given up trying to make sense of the comics continuity given how long ago it was that Loki was originally introduced)

Well from the film it was clear he had no love for Thor's friends. I mean mutual hatred is not the same as being bullied.

Had to be Odin. Frigga is the one who taught him his powers in the movies according to Thor 2. I actually teared up at what happened there, truth be told. She obviously loved them both very much.

Odin had much more of the feel of the Odin of legend. The bastard Allfather who will do what it takes and no, your feelings don't fucking matter, why did you ask?

Not as bad as in legend, but then again, in legend Loki was Odin's blood-brother instead of his adopted son.

Thor and Loki definitely did not have the same taste in friends, that's for sure.

I actually would have liked to see Loki have some friends of his own, it does sort of stretch the bounds of belief that there was no one in Asgard he could enjoy spending time with. He was hardly the only magician.

Given his attitude he likely didn't see the point in friends. He'd see himself too good for them.

I wonder how long will Taylor be able to work under authority of anyone, be it Odin or Fury, without seriously clashing with them, if not outright turning on them should a serious difference in opinions occur. Relying on loyalty to a leader is a completely wrong approach to ensure that she never turns on you, I believe.

Odin has always struck me as entirely too clever. He is also a wise old fucker who has had to deal with teenagers before, so I can expect him to do something clever to short circuit Taylor's triggers.

---

Odin - 'Hummm problems with authority... that is an understatement... How best to teach her the hard lesson... Give her authority and responsibility of her own... sink or swim.' *Clears his throat*
Taylor - So what do you want grandpa. *Annoyed*
Odin - You need to learn a few things whelp. You are entirely too prideful. You think you are right and others are wrong and that is the way of the universe, but pride cometh before the fall.
Taylor - I control bugs. Pride is the least of my problems.
Odin - Perhaps, perhaps not. *Throws a spear and shield at her feet* Take these. They are your symbols of command.
Taylor - Command?
Odin - You will lead a cadre of Valkyrie. They will look to you for guidance and command. You will forge them into a force that even Helheim will fear.
Taylor - Why me?
Odin - I see potential in you. But you must be tempered. Shed your weakness. Be forged into something stronger, harder, sharper. You were born to lead a force into battle, Taylor. Do not disappoint me.

Two years later she's taken his Throne and rules half the realms.

Odin(waking from Odinsleep): Well that went horribly right.

Please correct me if I'm wrong I'm going by the Mythology of Loki here and taking a glance over the Marvel Wiki, but didn't Odin take and either lock up or kill Loki's children? Im pretty sure he had 3 (2?) but didn't Odin take all of them from him and just expect him to stay loyal and either locked them away or killed them... Did that happen in Marvel? Because he has children marked as deceased in his profile anyway... That could go along way along with being the outcast of a race and still be beholden to Odins goodwill to making him at the very least murderous...

Despite fans confusing them constantly Marvel Loki and Mythological Loki are not the same character. For one Mythological Loki is Odin's Blood Brother or something similar.

Edit:
While all the Marvel versions of the Aesir bear little resemblance to their Mythological counterparts, Loki is the most changed.

Marvel's Loki has no kids. He's Odin's adopted son.

Unless Odin was riding a different 8-legged horse when he rescued Thor and Co. from Jotunheim , I do believe he was.

Marvel Loki is all Loki(s), everywhere. If we've seen it, it was him. The Diogenes fic does a good job explaining it.

But yeah, probably not a parent in the movie verse.

Clint Barton, upon being briefed on Taylor's history prior to arriving on MCU Earth: "That's more than a little nuts, you know."
Taylor: "And where are you going with this Agent Barton?"
Clint: "Nowhere in particular. It's just strange when the guy who ran away to join the circus and then the military has the normal history, you know?"
Everyone else who would normally be an Avenger exchanges awkward glances. Natasha does a shrug/nod combination.
The awkward silence stretches.
Tony: "So! How about the weather?"
Thor: "Verily! The sky 'tis a most pleasing shade of blue this morn."
The awkward silence beings again.
Bruce: "I'm... going to go check on some lab results. Let me know if any thing comes up, OK?"
The room dissolves into a collection of voices talking over each other with excuses to do something else (review surveillance, invent something, clean rifles) leaving Taylor and Steve blinking rapidly at the empty room.
Taylor: "I'm going to go for a run. I need a run."
Steve: "Do you mind if I tag along?"
Taylor: *thinks about the too small shirt she last saw Steve work out in* "Sounds good!"

Despite her natural competitiveness for some reason Taylor wasn't terribly bothered letting Steve take the lead.

As far as offspring go, Marvel Loki is sorta... vague on that front. Comic Loki has at various times been the parent of Jormungard and Fenrir, though I'm unsure about Sleipnir, and god help you if you try to understand Hela's origin. Presently, I think he isn't anybody's parent given he's Loki but also Loki who is trying not to be Loki right now. Gods are like that.

In the MCU none of those characters has shown up yet, so in the absence of an official position it's probably safe to say that he is not the father of a world girdling serpent, an eight legged horse (that may have predated his adoption by Odin), the goddess of death, or a Wolf that is fated to devour Odin whole at Ragnarok.

That's not even getting into the flies in the gym, or in the locker room, or the showers. Taylor, Taylor's going to enjoy herself.

I just wonder what a reunion with the Undersiders would be like.

Lisa: Oh my god Taylor you wouldn't believe what it was like trying to find you.

Taylor: Lisa?!? I'm so glad to see you.

Lisa: Good, now that we found you we can head home.

Taylor:...home?

Steve: Everything alright here, Taylor? This girl isn't causing trouble?

Taylor: It's fine Steve, just give us a minute?

Steve: Alright, call me if you need me.

Taylor: *Watches him walk away, then faces an incredulous Lisa* ...what?

Lisa: Taylor.

Taylor: Aw come on.

Lisa: *raises eyebrow*

Taylor: You haven't even got to meet the other guys.

Lisa: There's more?

Taylor: Oh my god you, you don't even know. This...this is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Don't ruin this.

Lisa: Fine...but I think we'll have to stay and observe everything. For your safety of course.

Taylor: Great I'll introduce you to Tony. I think you guys will get along great.
