The Valkyrior (MCU Thor/Worm)

I can't say I'm too fond of the primer paint. It makes the trim bleed through shinier when you go back to do the base work, so you have to do a second coat anyway (that's the selling point of having a primer paint, so you don't have to do a second coat)... so that's annoying... especially at almost $30 a gallon.

I sell paint. And that primer-paint thing? While it's technically true, it's pure sales gimmick by the manufacturers. You're almost always better off to go with an actual primer, and then the paint. Not to mention that a gallon of good primer will cost less than the paint anyway.

take your time heather. I'm still waiting on stories that haven't updated since 2005, I can wait a few days or weeks for you to get Real Life Shit done :D

Take your time, Heather; I've got more than one fic I read that only updates every few years, and honestly most good ones only update every few months.

Do what's best for you*

*And your house, who put fiber optic cable on its Christmas list.

Yeah, well, most fic writers need thicker skin because all they're interested in is people circle jerking over the fic. The guy made a joke, Heather responded, and did not seem to be offended; it is not your job to be offended on behalf of the author.

[alert=Alert]Indeed. Please do.

Enough with the off-topic posting, and enough with the nudging of authors to update like this, please. Heather may not mind, I do not know, but it's getting to be a frustrating trend on the forum, and I'd like it to stop.[/alert]

*blinks* There was no nudging. I'd have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure there was zero nudging. In fact, I think it was the exact opposite? I offered to give updates on the progress of my house, so people would have an idea of where I'm at in terms of getting back to the story. Someone asked, I gave a joke and answered. Hence the page of a handful of off-topic primer posts (which in I instigated in my own thread), and a bunch of supportive "take your time" posts.

I appreciate the sentiment, but in this instance it is unwarranted and unneeded.

I think this was related to the whole "So the next update is never?" leading to "Shitposts like this make writers lose inspiration" argument.

That would be correct.

I read through recent posts in the thread, noted they were off-topic, and asked people to stop. I suppose I should have made that one more clear; I shouldn't piggyback off other people's posts without at least quoting them, even if their post is directly above mine. My apologies for the lack of clarity that caused.

I also probably should have quoted the post in question, with regards to nudging authors, so my apologies there. With regards to that one- it wasn't a big problem in this particular instance, but it's still not behaviour the moderation staff would like to encourage on the part of our posters even if particular authors don't mind. Broader view of the forum than a single thread on our part, etc, etc.

With that said, if you'd like to discuss this further, I would request that you take it to the appropriate forum rather than clutter this thread with it.
