Probably threatened him with a lightsaber or something?
"If you make this mother, daughter reunion a tragedy in any way, bad things will happen to you, capiche?"
Probably threatened him with a lightsaber or something?
Forget that, he's probably half way out of the system by now. Still won't be enough.Well Karin found her daughter at last... Of course now a certain Royal Regent is likely going to be attempting damage control.
...Jesus, if that's how fucking touchy she is I wonder why the hell people weren't trying harder to stop them from bugging her! They've obviously learned how to work around her but letting that happen to people who didn't know any better is kinda scummy."You could have read that!" Saito said in surprise.
Louise's face paled when the next blow of air came with enough strength to shatter the boy's breastplate and send him past the crowd, to impact against the nearby wooden wall.
Damage control in this case is probably "I wonder if I can get political asylum with the Elves." at the very least.Well Karin found her daughter at last... Of course now a certain Royal Regent is likely going to be attempting damage control.
Errr. Am I the only one surprised that Louise instantly switched to hugging Karin instead of clinging to Saito for dear life? I mean, she got this super-negative impression of Karin, challenged the 'bitch' because she hurt her partner, then got almost killed, then said partner almost died to stop her from being actually killed, and the 180 switch comes a little too fast.
Did Louise even hear the daughter thing, first over the roar of wind, then while in shock?
I was also doubtful, but accepted it because Louise is probably not thinking very logically right now, based on her previous casting performance (every time she learns a new spell -> unconscious in seconds). Plus the high of surviving might make her feel a bit euphoric.Errr. Am I the only one surprised that Louise instantly switched to hugging Karin instead of clinging to Saito for dear life? There could be other times for the brothel, but this-well, this was more important.

Honestly what really surprised me was that she used lethal force on something that was clearly sentient, just because she was angry (when she tried to vaporize the Manticore's head). She didn't kill the mercs who had lied, tortured her friends, and were about to torture her. Could just be down to species centric morality, but the manticore wasn't even threatening her he was trying to de-escalate...
Awww, you do care to give us warm feelz. :lolI just made the cut there because it was midnight -and I wanted to give you all a happy new year from Italy~

The Duke would have read it and not bothered with his blood test before turning them away.So why did he send a "this is an imposter" letter if apparently everyone in Valier knew that the Duchess had a method of testing if the candidate was genuine? I find it difficult to believe he wouldn't know this.

Does she even know that manticore's can be sentient? It's not necessarily common knowledge. Furthermore it's awfully difficult to set your spell power exactly when you are being attacked by a giant monster, and your magic is dependent on emotion.I was also doubtful, but accepted it because Louise is probably not thinking very logically right now, based on her previous casting performance (every time she learns a new spell -> unconscious in seconds). Edit: I hope the recipient of Louise's sleep revenge-kicks is Karin this time. Woman is a massive dickhead.
It was literally in the middle of a sentence when she started trying to blow its head off. And she wasn't being attacked by a giant monster, he was holding her in place saying "stop!" to end the fight. The one she was angry at was the Duchess.Does she even know that manticore's can be sentient? It's not necessarily common knowledge. Because when a corpse of a young mage girl who bears remarkable resemblance to the missing Valliere daughter turns up outside the capital, the Cardinal's letter will allow her identity will be neatly sorted away as one of the many impostors that have turned up over the years. The motive will be simple greed, not a larger conspiracy in which the real Louise was assassinated to prevent her grand reunion with her family, and subsequently undermining the Crown's influence and authority. The Duke would have read it and not bothered with his blood test before turning them away.
The fact that the runes were just shown moving him while he was stone cold unconscious makes me wonder how much of this is really him, though. *jumps at shadows*My, Saito is impressive. Blocking a blow a few minutes after being thrown through a wall hard enough to almost knock him out.
