OOC: Well, second time's the charm.

All you wanted to do was to heal Kyousuke's arm, so he could play his music for you. Being a magical girl was great at first. Fighting alongside Mami and saving people from witches, like Hitomi from that TV witch, even getting in the finishing blow. You were a hero!

Then Kyouko Sakura arrived, and the two of you fought. She was aggressive, saying how you should let familiars kill people until they transform into a witch, so that they could have a Grief Seed.

"Oh, don't tell me. You don't really believe in all that saving people and fighting for justice crap, did you? C'mon now, you didn't buy that load of bull? Did ya?"​

Then Kyouko challenged you to a fight, and Kyubey made everything worse.

When Kyubey told you about the truth of magical girls, your life went to hell. Kyouko told you why she made a contract with Kyubey, threatened to kill you, and said how you should have wished for Kyousuke to stay handicapped forever, so he can rely on you only. Hitomi gave you only 24 hours to confess to Kyousuke, but you couldn't. You were undead.

"It's true! I CAN block out the pain! I don't feel any pain anymore!"

You attacked a witch in a berserker rage. You killed two men. You kept declining Grief Seeds from Mami and Homura. Homura gave you a death threat.

"You're sharp. Yes, you're right about me. I don't give a damn if you live or die, I don't care. I just don't want Madoka to see you like this as you destroy yourself. If you don't let me help you now, you're going to die either way. You see, if you make her suffer anymore... then I will... kill you right here, right now... Sayaka Miki!"​

You yelled at Madoka. And then you went to that train station, and your Soul Gem was at its limit. Kyouko tried talking to you.

Balance means good and bad have to zero themselves out. That's what Kyouko said, but you understood what she meant now. Though you did save a few people, you got angry and your heart filled up with envy and hate. It got so bad, you even hurt Madoka. You told her your despair, as you fell into the depths of it.

"For all the happiness you wish for someone, someone else gets cursed with equal misery. That's how it works for magical girls, and that's how it is for me. I was stupid... so stupid."​

Then you witched out.

An enormous mermaid, covered in iron armor. A pink ribbon was on its chest, with a navy blue cape behind it. It had a helmet with three eyes and a visor shaped like a psychotic grin, just like when you attacked that witch.​

It still screamed with your voice, and was confined to your/its labyrinth. Then it happened. Oktavia attacking Madoka as she tried hopelessly to bring you back.

Kyouko then killed both you and herself in a kamikaze attack, praying to God to have a happy dream for once.

"I know, Sayaka... It sucks to be alone. Believe me, I know. But it's OK now. Cause I'm here with you... Sayaka."

Then you were dead. More dead than you already were, since magical girls are basically zombies. Being dead was... weird, to say the least. You were unaware of yourself, in an endless expanse of darkness, with your mind changing between Sayaka and Oktavia... until there was a beautiful light and a pulling sensation, and Oktavia left.

Then you saw it. A bright blue sky. The sound of wings.

You look at your Soul Gem. It's a radiant blue, almost as if it was never corrupted, as though you never witched out.

You are Sayaka Miki. And you are riding on a giant bird next to Kyouko. In the middle of an endless sky, with a sea of clouds below you and a floating island with a town on it behind you.

RULES​

• Standard SV rules apply here.​
• The primary objective of the story is for Sayaka to survive in the land of Hyrule during the Sky Era. And hook up with Kyouko​
• Lots of butterflies have been released, so at times, things will be different from canon. This means many mythology gags and cameos.​
• For context, Sayaka and Kyouko got here from a Madowish. She wished that Sayaka, Kyouko, and Mami would survive and get out of Mitakihara before she witches out, and that whisked Sayaka and Kyouko off to Hyrule when it was intervened by the brief temporal distortion caused when Homura reset time. But then again, since they were all dead before, they would have been spared from being absorbed by Kriemhild Gretchen anyway. And Madoka's unaware of how powerful Gretchen is. Mami's in Termina.
• You control Sayaka's choices, decision-making faculties, what she does in combat, and whether she'll live or die.​
• I love dialogue write-ins. Be Sayaka. Talk through her.​
• When Sayaka's Soul Gem reaches 100% corruption, Sayaka will witch out and become Oktavia von Seckendorff. That's a game over.
• Sayaka can bad end up to three times. The third death is a game over.
• Witching out in a bad end is not a game over.
• Sayaka and Kyouko are the only Madoka Magica characters here. Until Mami shows up.
• Just because some enemies are easy in the game does not mean they'll be easy here.
• I am not using dice. You have to think of a strategy.
• Sayaka has meta knowledge of things from Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. She also knows about the lichbomb and witchbomb, so tread carefully there.
• Since this is a quest, there is no Wii Motion Plus to fuck up strategies. Go nuts, guys.
• I'm still a novice QM, so if anyone's OOC, don't hesitate to tell me. I'm trying to get a basic grasp on the characters' personalities, though. But I've been getting help from someone in a conversation with writing Sayaka, so I've probably got her down pretty well, even though it won't show up until around the Statue of the Goddess scene.
• Invisitext is in almost every post.
• Never forget that being meguca is suffering.

Sayaka's skills


Skyward Strike: Charge the Goddess Sword with heavenly light, and fire it as a sword beam, the shape changing on which way you slice. Costs nothing.
Fire Slingshot: Shoot a Deku Seed from the Arboreal Slingshot. Costs one Deku Seed for each one shot. If you imbue a seed with your magic, it will cost 4% corruption.

Magical girl skills

Transform: Puts you into your magical girl outfit. Costs nothing.
Healing (Used against Kyouko and Elsa Maria) (Costs 2% corruption for minor wounds, 8% corruption for severed limbs, and 18% for your whole body.)
Speed boost: Increase your movement speed for 30 seconds. (Used against H.N. Elly) (Costs 10% corruption)
Fire cutlass: Summon a cutlass and fire it at an enemy. Also known as Diet Mami. (Used against Anja) (2% corruption for each cutlass)
Musical circle: Lets you charge at something from the air. Best used in collaboration with a high jump. (Used against Elsa Maria) (9% corruption)

Oh, she is, she is. Kyouko is chewing on a stick of pocky. "Hey, Sayaka," she says to you, as if she was riding on a giant bird any day. "It's windy out, isn't it?"
The ring that becomes her Soul Gem is gone.
"Are you... feeling all right?" you ask. How did you get here anyway? What was that light?

"Never better!" she replies, smirking.

You hear a sound in the distance, and Kyouko steers her bird over in that direction, towards another floating island. You examine the bird you're riding on. It resembles a shoebill stork that you once saw in a zoo, but its wings are much larger than it. The bird's about the size of one of Oktavia's fins, and it's a bright cyan.

"If you're going to be the only means of transport around the sky, I better give you a name," you say to the bird you're riding on. "How about Lorelai?" The bird makes a squawk at you, but since you don't speak bird, you just presume it likes the name.

You begin to maneuver Lorelai. As you do, you feel the wind in your face and feathers flying past by you. You fly around as you try leveling the bird out, and see the island behind you better. As you look closer, you can see that it is composed of one large main island and several outlying ones, connected by bridges. A colorful town is nestled on the island, with many varied houses. To the south is a main square, and beside it sat a stone tower resembling a lighthouse. Near the island's center is a large tent which looked like a market of some sort. A big lake being fed by a waterfall that poured from an islet floating above was on the east side. But the island's most noticeable feature is a glorious statue of a heavenly winged woman inside a courtyard. "

For a few moments, you can't help but admire the beauty of the place.

You see how beautiful the floating island is, and you realize that there's no way this is a labyrinth. Kyouko flies up behind you, holding a folded piece of cloth. "Hey, Sayaka!" she shouts to you. "Catch!" She throws the cloth to you, and you look at it.

"What is this?" you ask. You examine the cloth. It has a sky-blue crest on it, and catches the wind in it.

"It's called a sailcloth," Kyouko tells you. "The Headmaster says that the Goddess gave this to her chosen hero," she explains, not letting go of the food in her mouth as she talks to you. This doesn't make sense. You know Kyouko was Christian, and how she prayed to God before her kamikaze attack in the fight against Oktavia, along with how she's talking a bit more formal than she did back in Mitakihara. Her saying things like this is just abnormal.

"Kyouko," you firmly say. "Something's wrong with you. You wouldn't say these kind of things. Can you remember anything?" As you begin to ponder for a way to cure Kyouko's amnesia, you see something, not far from here.

A black tornado.
"Prepare the ritual. Once we retrieve the girl's memories, the Master will feast on her soul!"

You steer Lorelai around the twister, where you see something in the center. "Kyouko!" you shout, transforming and taking evasive action. You see debris heading towards you, and you steer Lorelai away from it, and it lands on the island nearby. So you wait for an opening... and you fire a cutlass at the figure. You can see the figure grab the cutlass... and it throws it back at you, slicing your side.

You grunt at the quick flash of pain, and heal the wound, a circle of musical notes surrounding it as the blood clots and goes back into the wound, which closes. "Kyouko!" you call. "Try and get back to the island the town is on! I'll distract whatever's in the center of the tornado!"

"Got it!" Kyouko yells back, beginning to fly towards the island with the town on it. Then the tornado turns around and goes much faster. It approaches you and Kyouko at its increased speed, and Lorelai shrieks as it blows Kyouko's bird away, making Kyouko fall. And since her Soul Gem's gone, she's not a magical girl anymore. "SAYAKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Her scream is exactly like when you witched out.

You have Lorelai go into a nosedive, and jump, summoning a magic circle of musical notes. You launch yourself at Kyouko, and as the wind tears at your body, you get closer... closer... and you reach, grabbing her hand. The tornado then begins to feel fortified, as if some force is making it stronger, and it feels sharper and sharper, until your hand is sliced off by the wind. You heal your hand, but it's too late- Kyouko has vanished into the twister.

Kyouko's bird and Lorelai are both thrown backwards, and you go flying as your vision goes spotty. You hear the same voice that signaled the arrival of the tornado. Saying the same thing. And with that, you black out.

You are now dreaming.

"Sayaka..." you hear. You can hear a spiritual voice, and as you fall through darkness, you can see a flying spirit dressed in purple and blue.

"W-Who are you?" you say, your mouth feeling dry.

"Sayaka, I am waiting for you," the spirit says, ignoring your question; like if she had been programmed to only say those words. She approaches you even closer, and you can see that she resembles a human, but with blue skin. "You shall play a large role in the destiny of the land that the people of Skyloft call the surface. The time has come for you to awaken. You are vital to a mission of great importance. You may not understand yet, but all will be revealed when the Goddess deems so. Sayaka..." You try to say something, but you then see the black abyss turn the blue of Oktavia's labyrinth.

"I know, Sayaka... It sucks to be alone. Believe me, I know." You now hear Kyouko. "But it's OK now. Cause I'm here with you... Sayaka." It's Kyouko right before her kamikaze attack. Not the one with amnesia.

And then you see her kissing her hairpin, pointing a giant spear at Oktavia. The hairpin shatters, and the spear explodes, catching both Kyouko and Oktavia in the explosion. The explosion engulfs your dream self, and...

You wake up.
​

You are now in a bedroom, where a man with white hair looks over at you. "Oh, you're awake!" he says. "I was worried when Kyouko's Loftwing brought you back with a weak pulse," he tells you. "I'll return later, when you're ready to leave bed." The man walks towards the door. "Rest, Sayaka," he adds. "And don't worry. Kyouko will be here when you wake up." He then leaves the room. Right when he leaves, you check your Soul Gem.

Over a quarter of your Soul Gem is dark. If you use any more magic after this, you'll need a grief seed soon. And then you hear a voice. "Dominam," the voice says. It sounds just like the voice in your dream. "Dominam, your time has come..." You get out of bed and open the door, where the figure from your dream floats elegantly in the hallway.

"Follow me, Dominam," she says quietly. "It is time."

Kyouko stirred, feeling cold stone beneath her. She got on her feet and looked around, seeing that she was inside an old stone temple. "You've awoken," she heard. Kyouko turned around to see an elderly woman.

Her skin was a dark tan, and she wore a red cloak. Kyouko could see tribal jewelry and markings covering their body and skin. A harp laid on the ground beside her. "I saved you from the savage monsters that tried attacking you while you were unconscious," she explained. "I am Impaz. I am the priestess that has stayed in this temple for many years."

"I'm-"

"Kyouko Sakura," Impaz cut in. "I know you aren't native to the land above the clouds." She then pulled a harp out of her robes.

"H-How do you know all this?" Kyouko asked.

"Because I am a messenger of the gods," Impaz said. "As the Spirited One, you must go to Skyview Temple, past Faron Woods. It lies in the depths of the Lost Woods, the domain of the Skull Children."

"Do I need to? 'cause I'm just wanting to get back to Skyloft," Kyouko told Impaz.

"Do you want to know who you really are?"

"I know who I am! I'm Kyouko Sakura, a knight of Skyloft and a magical girl!"

A small smile appeared on Impaz's face. "You're already beginning to remember," she simply said. "If you want to get the rest of your memory back, go to Skyview Temple."

"Hmph," Kyouko snarled at Impaz, glaring at her. "Well then, if I go there, I can find out where the fuck my Soul Gem went!" And then Kyouko began her trip to Skyview Temple.

OOC: Kyouko was soon dubbed by the Kikwis as "Scary Girl."​

You move towards the figure, and she glides away. You run after her down the hallway, and she goes through the door leading outside. As she goes through, you open the double doors and are exposed to the night air of the island with the town on it. You scan your surroundings, and see bats, strange teal blobs, and OH GOD IS THAT A DEMON CAT

The spirit is out here, and she backs away when you approach her. "Dominam," she repeats. "You must follow me." She continues floating away from you and up some wooden stairs, to where the statue of that woman was that you saw in the distance. Your walk soon turns into a jog, and you transform, just in case.

When you reach the top of the stairs, the spirit raises her winglike arms at the bars which block the entrance to what seems to be a courtyard. The bars glow purple, and they vanish. "So she can use magic?" you say to yourself as you follow her.

"We must continue, Dominam," the spirit says, gliding across the courtyard to the foot of the statue. You run in after her, and when you reach the base of the statue, it glows a brilliant purple, and an arch shape chunk of stone on the statue crumbles away, revealing a passageway. The spirit then flies in.

Gah, I know that we first have to go to the plot of the game first, but everything I have planned that's different so far doesn't come into play until the surface. Also, I use Latin for Ancient Hylian.​

"Dominam, your time has come," the spirit girl calls out to you as you enter the inside of the statue. "I have been waiting for this day, the day that I shall guide you." You look around for the spirit's presence, but you can't find her in the room.

The ceiling of the room can't be seen, but you can see that it is held up by six pillars decorated with triangles. You see a crest on the other side of the room, which looks eerily similar to the crest on the Hylian Shield, when you played Ocarina of Time. In front of it, only a few feet away from you, stands an ancient pedestal with a sword planted deep inside. The hilt of it is dyed a deep blue. You begin theorizing... nah, probably just a coincidence.

"What the hell does Dominam mean? And where are you?" you call out.

Silence. Then you hear the spirit's voice. "There is a 98% chance that you have not learnt much of the deep roots in Ancient Hylian speech," the spirit tells you. Oh, god... "The word Dominam comes from the Ancient Hylian term for 'mistress' or can be used as the term for go-" She cuts herself off. "I apologize for the mistake," she corrects herself. "The term is most commonly translated as 'mistress'."

But the spirit's voice drowns itself out by your thoughts. Your suspicions when you saw the crest were right. You're not in the skies above Japan, nor anywhere else near Mitakihara.

You're in Hyrule.

The timeline Sayaka and Kyouko came from is not the canon timeline.

First off, Mami survives the fight with Charlotte. Sayaka's story arc is largely the same, with Kyouko getting caught in the explosion that kills her and Oktavia. Mami arrives on the scene, only for Kyubey to witchbomb her, causing her to begin to spiral. When Walpurgisnacht arrives, Homura and Mami are the only ones left, until Mami goes Tetris on Homura, witching out mid-Tetris. Candeloro fights Walpurgis, and is soon absorbed into it. Madoka then contracts, her wish being that even though Sayaka, Kyouko, and Mami are dead, they would find peace. Her wish unintentionally revives them, with Sayaka and Kyouko ending up in Hyrule and Mami ending up in [SPOILERS]. Homura goes back in time not even before Madoka finishes saying her wish, and Madoka oneshots Walpurgis. She witches out soon after, Kyubey makes a huge profit, and Gretchen destroys the world.
