Prepare to Fi
You stay calm. You take a deep breath, and realize that if you're in Hyrule, maybe you can be the hero. But then, you ask the spirit something. "What happens if I run out of hearts? Will I have a fairy that pesters me every five minutes?"

"I do not understand what you mean by 'hearts'. And for your second question, sentient fairies live in the fairy fountains scattered across the surface, and mainly keep to themselves."

"That's a relief," you say. You then begin to walk over to the sword. "So, I pull this, and-" Immediately, the spirit girl that guided you to the statue appears, coming out of the sword. She reminds you of the blade on the pedestal, but with different colors. She has a light blue and deep purple body that seems to radiate hope. Her arms, more like wings than anything else, float to her side.

She stands up from her crouched position and begins floating in the air. "Fi is the name I was given, Dominam," she explains. "I was created to serve you throughout this great mission that shall affect both you and the one who arrived with you." She turns silently to the blade. "I shall explain more, but now is the time for action. You must take up this sword and set out in pursuit of your friend, as others are wildly searching for her. Kyouko Sakura is alive."

The Goddess Sword
You wrap both your hands around the blade, feeling it hum against your fingertips as soon as they brush against the hilt. You inhale deeply, and tug on the sword. It comes out surprisingly easy, and you realize something. You may have been stupid in Mitakihara, and you're unable to be a hero as a magical girl, but... maybe you can have a small chance here, if you find a way to purify your Soul Gem. You're in Hyrule, after all. A classic good vs. evil story. The sword leaves the pedestal, and you hold it.

"Now, Dominam," Fi says to you, "in the name of my creator, raise the sword skywards." You follow Fi's instructions, and raise the blade above your head. The sword is bathed in an indigo light, and it glows. You feel like a weight has been lifted off of your chest, and you see that your Soul Gem flashes the same color. When the light dims, you see that the corruption filling it is gone. "What you bear is the Goddess Sword, a blade kept secret from the people of Skyloft for thousands of years until this mission was ready to begin. Crafted by the wisdom of the ancient sages and used by the goddess in the war against the god of evil, Majora, along with the war against the Demon King, this sword is filled with a holy power. You may also imbue your cutlasses you can summon with the Goddess Sword's power."

You then try what she said, and summon a cutlass. "Holy..." you mutter, looking at the cutlass, now glowing with the power of the sword. This isn't real. You're following in the footsteps of Link. Just wait until you tell Mami and Madoka... but they aren't here. You make a note to tell them when you get back to Mitakihara. "Thanks, Fi," you say, determination filling your mind. "I'll use this sword to save the land of Hyrule from whatever is threatening it."

"Then the mission will begin soon. Recognition complete, mistress," Fi says to you. "Sayaka... my mistress."

"So... what is this place, anyway?" you ask. "The Temple of Time? It sure doesn't look like it."

"Negative," Fi replies, "the Temple of Time is located in the Lanayru Desert," she says. "This is the interior of the Statue of the Goddess, where the Hero was said to awaken herself, as the prophecy states."

"A prophecy?" you ask. "I'm in a prophecy?"

"It reads as follows: When the light of the Goddess' sword shines bright, a great apocalypse will awaken from its slumber. Do not fear, for it is then that a youth, guided by my hand, shall reveal themselves in a place most sacred. The youth who draws forth the guiding sword shall be known as the Maiden Reborn, and it is she who possesses a fragment of the spirit of my creator. She shall be burdened with the task of abolishing the shadow of apocalypse from the land. Such is her destiny. With the spirit of the blade at her side, she shall soar over the clouds and plummet below... And united with the Spirited One, shall bring forth a piercing light that resurrects the land.'"

"Wait, 'plummet below'?" you ask. "As in I'm heading down to Hyrule?"

"Affirmative," Fi confirms, "Your journey shall take you to the vast lands of the Surface, known as Hyrule during the time of the Goddess." It's actually happening. You're going on a hero's journey.

"So how do I get down there? I take it I don't just ride Lorelei through the clouds."

Fi brings her arms together in response, creating a ball of bright blue light that transforms into a stone tablet with a map on it, an emerald in the center. "This is known as the Emerald Tablet, Dominam," she explains to you. "It shall create an opening in the cloud barrier. Strike the crest in the back of the room with a Skyward Strike, a blast formed of pure energy when you raise the Goddess Sword skywards, and place the tablet in the altar behind me." The tablet then floats over to your feet, so you can pick it up after the Skyward Strike.

You raise the sword, and it glows. With a slash, a disc of energy fires towards the crest resembling the Hylian Shield, and an altar rises up. A rectangular slot supposedly for the tablet is in the center. You then feel a sheath appear near your left hip, which you slide the Goddess Sword into. And finally, you pick up the tablet and place it into the slot.

Almost immediately, the statue begins to shape. "Dominam," Fi says. "Go outside the statue to see the effect of the tablet." You nod, and go outside. In the courtyard, you can see that it's still night. Then to the southeast, you see something- a green pillar of light. "The tablet you placed in the altar has opened a small rift in the cloud barrier. You are now able to go to the surface."

As you listen to Fi, a title comes into your head. "Sayaka Miki, Hero of the Sky!" But you're scared.

Good Morning
OOC: I'm feeling generous, so I'm letting the equivalent to Grief Seeds be really easy to find.

You note that multiple bats are flying around the courtyard, and they all turn to you in unison. "Target locked: Keese," Fi says. "Found in many locations, these winged monsters are attracted to dark places, such as caves. They often gather in colonies, are active at night, and sleep in the day. Those who come too close and awaken them often fall victim to attack."
You summon three cutlasses to take down the first three Keese, before finishing off the other three with the Goddess Sword. Two blue rupees and two green rupees drop down where the Keese's corpses vanish. You leave the courtyard, and see that there are other monsters throughout the town. You quickly find a small treasure chest, and open it to find a red rupee.

As you go through the town, you kill any Keese you come across (gaining 10 rupees), until you run into a teal blob. "Target locked: Green ChuChu. These creatures prefer exceptionally damp environments. They will encompass and digest anything they can absorb into their gelatinous bodies. As they have no genders, they are believed to increase their population by dividing themselves into several smaller-sized ChuChus."
You slice through the ChuChu with the Goddess Sword, and it splits into two smaller ChuChus, which you dispatch easily. You now have 55 rupees. As you reach a statue of a bird that has a ruby in one of its eyes, you decide to tell Fi about magical girls. "Fi?" you ask.

"Yes, Dominam?" Fi responds, appearing out of the Goddess Sword and looking at you.

"I'm... well, a magical girl. I basically hunt these... things called witches, but it isn't all sugary sweet as it sounds. The one who makes you a magical girl in exchange for any wish, Kyubey, leaves out any information that will persuade you not to become one." You then show Fi your Soul Gem. Her expression doesn't change at all. It's almost as if she doesn't have emotions. "This," you continue, "is my Soul Gem. When it gets completely dark..." you gulp. "You turn into a witch. So, Fi. Do you know any way to dispel curses in Hyrule?"

"I will look through my database to see if any item in it matches what you need," Fi says. She then goes silent, and you examine the bird statue, wondering where its other eye is. "Possible match found," Fi say. "Amber Relic, beads used by the goddess to purge curses from the people of Hyrule during the war against Majora. Found throughout the surface now." She shows you what looks like a magatama bead from a shrine you once visited with your mom. "However, only Amber Relics that still glow in the presence of the Goddess Sword are able to purge curses. Ones that do not have no magic left in them."

She turns to you. "To make finding the relics more convenient for you, I can lead you to any relics with magic still within them with a process known as dowsing. Dowsing is when I detect the presence of the aura of something you wish to search for using the tip of the Goddess Sword. The nearer you are to the object emitting the aura, the stronger the response will be."

"So it's like the Stone of Agony?" you ask. "It makes more noise depending on how close I am to a secret?"

"Correct, Dominam. The Stone of Agony used by the Shiekah Tribe is similar to the method of scanning that dowsing uses," Fi clarifies to you. You can see the sun rising over the town, and the Keese and ChuChus go into hiding. You look at the green pillar of light, then at the town. People are beginning to go into the large tent at the center of the town, which seems to be a bazaar of some sorts.

Sealed Grounds, End of Prologue
You go over to the Bazaar, no longer transformed. As you enter, the sound of a ruckus goes into your ears. You look around to see a shop that sells gear, one that sells potions, a fortune-teller, and a bored woman at a desk. You first walk over to the potion shop. "Excuse me, ma'am," you say to the proprietor, a large woman who seems to be clapping for some reason.

"Hello, my sweet!" she says enthusiastically to you. "Would you like some potions?"

"Yeah," you say. "A red potion, please." It's just in case your Soul Gem's corruption is rather high and you need to heal.

"Right away," the woman says, pulling out a bottle and scooping some red potion into it. "I noticed you didn't have a bottle to carry the potion in, so here's one. And you don't need to pay for the bottle! It's on the house." The woman then gives you the bottle of potion. For a few seconds, you wonder what's in red potion, but the thought goes away. "The potion's fifteen rupees, by the way," the woman says. You give the money to her, and she thanks you for shopping at her place. You now have 40 rupees.

You then walk over to the shop that's selling gear, where a grinning man goes over to the shield that you approach. You can't help but be reminded of the owner of the mask shop in Ocarina of Time. "That is a wooden shield!" the man says, looking at you. "It can protect you from attacks, but it burns when exposed to fire. 40 rupees." You give him the money, and the man's grin grows wider. "Thank you!" He then hands the shield over to you.

You put the shield on your back, and begin to walk over to the dock in the southern plaza. "Fi," you ask, "how exactly do I call Lorelei? I woke up on her, but how do I make her come back?"

"When you jump off the dock, whistle," Fi says to you. "Your Loftwing will arrive in an instant, and it will always respond to a whistle. However, Loftwings are diurnal creatures, thus you cannot fly down to the surface from Skyloft at night." You nod, then jump. As you fall, you first transform, then whistle. Just like Fi said, Lorelei arrives and puts you on her back. You steer the Loftwing towards the green pillar of light. "Mistress Sayaka, this column of light leads to the Faron region of the Surface," Fi tells you as you fly towards the pillar of light. "And when you reach the light, jumping is the best option. The sailcloth Kyouko gave you will let you slow your fall enough to land on the Surface without inflicting any pain."

As you reach the light, you steer Lorelei down, and then you jump. Below, you see a spiraling pit near a temple, and a vast forest nearby. A lake is to the east of the forest, and you wonder if that's Lake Hylia or Zora's Domain. You pull out your sailcloth, and float down peacefully. When I get Kyouko back with her memories and save Hyrule, we'll go home somehow, you think to yourself, trying to ignore the fear you're feeling now.
Oh, but she must stay. She bears something we need. And we must obtain it...
"Huh," you say as you land, looking around at the pit, then at the temple. "I thought there would be Kokiri."
"These are the Sealed Grounds. It is a well-known area due to the events here that occurred during the great war for the surface, even if it has fallen into decline after that historical event," she clarifies to you. "To help you in your quest, I have added the option to douse for Kyouko's Soul Gem to the Goddess Sword."

"Thanks, Fi," you tell her. You look over at the temple down the cliff. "Well then." You gulp. "I guess it's time to get started." An old woman enters the temple.

Enter Impaz
When you take not even a step forward, a giant plant emerges from a set of roots. You remember this enemy from Ocarina of Time- a Deku Baba. "Deku Baba," Fi says. "This violent plant is widespread in wooded areas. It will attempt to bite anything that approaches it. Though it is covered in a tough outer husk, the inside of its mouth is soft. I have confirmed the existence of two varieties: those that open their mouths vertically and those that open them horizontally. In addition, there is a subspecies of Deku Baba that emits a poisonous miasma and another that hangs from the bottom of lily pads."

This one's mouth is horizontal, so you slice horizontally with the Goddess Sword. The Deku Baba lets out a strange noise, and bites out back at you, tearing your cape a bit and making a deep wound on your side. You quickly heal the wound, and you do one more slice, the Deku Baba's head being split in half.

Then, you decide to test dowsing by searching for Amber Relics. The Goddess Sword glows lavender, and you feel as though there are four relics nearby. So you start searching. The first one you find is to the west of the temple overlooking the pit. The second is on a cliff parallel to the one you landed on. The third is inside the pit, on a cliff. And finally, the fourth is at the bottom of the pit. At the bottom, you can see some kind of spike with runes and symbols on it, with a sigil surrounding the spike. It looks as if the sigil was recently placed there, or renewed. Then you decide to test something. You summon your Soul Gem, and point it at the spike, turning on your magic-sense.

You feel a demonic presence, with an overwhelming malevolent aura. You feel a sudden agony in your head, feeling like it might explode. Whatever is sealed away here is much worse than any witch you've ever fought, and it wants nothing more than to subjugate, dominate, and rule the land around you. You're literally knocked back from the aura, and hit the cliff.

You then see your Soul Gem. This presence, whatever it was, filled it up a bit. You press an Amber Relic against your Soul Gem, and the corruption flows out of it and into the bead, which crumbles in your hand. When you get much stronger, you'll defeat whatever's in there.
"I'm getting out of here," you say to yourself, going up the spiral until you reach the temple. You push open the double doors, surprised by how easy they opened.

You are now inside some sort of shrine. Three ancient pillars line each side of the temple, and a flight of stairs leads up to something that you take doesn't exist any longer. A small alcove for plants is to the left, while a figure sits upon a larger stairway in front of a pair of large double doors. "This is the Sealed Temple, Mistress Sayaka," Fi explains to you. "I do not detect the presence of any monsters here. It is safe here."

You go over to the figure at the top of the stairs, and they speak up. "Ah, traveler descended from the sky above, I welcome you to the land that the people of Skyloft call the Surface." It's an elderly woman, her slender form hunched over slightly. She wears a large red cloak that towers over her, and her hair wraps around her head and down to a little off the ground. She also has on a blue necklace. "Tell me, what is your name?"

"My name's Sayaka Miki," you say. "I came down here looking for something."

"What a lovely name you bear," the old woman comments with a smile. She then looks over at the Goddess Sword. "So, have you learnt to gain control over the power within that sword?" You nod.

"I'm beginning to get the hang of it," you tell her.

"That is good," the old woman says. "The Skyward Strike is yours to command, and it is proof that you are meant to carry that sword,' she tells you. A small smile appears on your face.

"Heh, well I'm used to wielding cutlasses before I pulled the Goddess Sword," you say. "I have to ask- what's your name?"

"You may call me Impaz," she tells you. "I am the priestess of this temple, and yes, I have been here ever since the goddess aided the scales of the Great War so I could fulfill my purpose of being your guide."

"I'm looking for someone who might be here. Know where she might be?" you ask.

"The one bearing the Spirit of the Hero?" Impaz responds. "Yes, she arrived here last afternoon in a shower of light. Yes... the gears of fate have begun to turn." She pauses for a long time, a frown appearing on her face. "Yet things are not as they should be. The manner that the girl reached this place is not how it is supposed to be."

A scowl appears on your face. "Someone created the twister that brought Kyouko down here, didn't they?"

"Yes, evil is working in the shadows to gain the upper hand, and I was barely able to stop them before a twist of fate ensued." She gives you a sympathetic look. "I am sorry to tell you this, but for now you must work on pressing forwards, and you shall meet her when destiny decides that the time is right. You see, whenever there is a meeting, Sayaka, a parting is sure to follow. However, that parting need not last forever... Whether a parting be forever or merely for a short time... That is up to you." She then looks up at you. "For now, Kyouko has set out through Faron Woods, and you should follow. Take this map of the surface, and it shall guide you where I cannot."

She focuses deeply, and two things appear in front of you. The first is a map of what seems to be Hyrule in this day and age. You can see Hyrule Field in the center, with what seems to be Gerudo Desert to the west and Death Mountain to the north. The southeast seems to be Faron Woods, as Impaz had described. The other object is what seems to be an indigo satchel, with ten Amber Relics stacked on top of it.

"What's with the bag?" you ask. "I mean, thanks for the Amber Relics, but what's the bag for?"

"This is a satchel, enchanted to hold an infinite amount of items," Impaz explains to you. "When you think of an item and reach into it, the item will be what you pull out."

"Well..." you say, smiling. "Thanks, Impaz. I'll use this." You then begin to walk down the stairs, when you hear her again.

"Sayaka." You turn slowly, looking at Impaz. "There is one other object that you need in your journey." She focuses again, and you can see a lyre appear in front of you. "This instrument is very special, Sayaka. Do not let it fall into the wrong hands."

"OK...?" you say, taking the lyre. You then look around the temple, and see a pair of double doors to your left. You tuck the instrument under your arm.

The First Instance of Trauma
You decide to dowse for Kyouko. As you pull out the Goddess Sword, you point it around the temple. You then face towards the northeast, the Goddess Sword begins glowing brighter. Fi then appears. "A report, mistress," she says. "From what the dowsing signal shows, it seems that Impaz is right, and that Kyouko is in Faron Woods. The signal indicates an 82% chance that she has not gotten far within the forest."

"Good," you say. "And when I find that asshole who caused us to get into this mess, I'll save Kyouko and bring him to justice."
You see Impaz flinch in the background at your swearing.
You then walk towards the double doors, and push them open, exposing you to the sunlight once again. The trees tower over you, and the blue sky is still as blue as ever. You keep going, until you reach a clearing, where you smell what seems to be a dead body. You run forwards, transforming almost on instinct as you enter.

Large knives are strewn all over the grove, while human blood and what seem to be stones are mixed with the earth. One knife is covered in blood. Your expression darkens as you examine the scene. Then you see it.

The corpse of what looks like a Goron.

You drop the Goddess Sword. "F-Fi..." you say, shaking as you look over the bloodshed as your Soul Gem begins to darken. "C-Can you tell me what happened here?" You could have saved them. But you were too late. Too late. Too late. Too late. Too late. Too late. T O O L A T E. TOOLATE.

Fi appears silently and nods. "I have answers," she tells you. "This is the position where the Spirited One fell to the surface. There, she was discovered by creatures known as Bokoblins. However, this Goron was present at the time, and when the monsters attacked, he was caught in the fight and killed." She points at the sword covered in blood with her cape. "Judging by the injuries on its body and the blood on the sword, it seems to have been impaled by a Bokoblin's sword. From what the wounds show, which are mainly on its chest, the Goron blocked the path so the Spirited One would get to safety. It took many blows from the Bokoblins and slayed two of them, but the third one used its final breath to stab the Goron in the heart. The Goron died of its wounds soon after. Would you like me to define the enemies for you?"

"P-P-Please."

"Affirmative. Bokoblins are monsters that have plagued the lands since ancient times. They are a subspecies of Blin, one of the older races to inhabit the land. Most Blins are humanoid and share similar features, the most common being a piggish face."

You gulp. "Was Kyouko able to escape, or was she killed by monsters deeper in the forest?"

"Yes, mistress," Fi tells you. "My calculations suggest that Kyouko was able to escape with little wounds, despite the blood over the earth. I predict a 96% chance that her escape was to the priestess within the Sealed Temple. I conjecture that she only left the Sealed Temple and entered Faron Woods not two hours ago, a few hours before you arrived on the surface today. And mistress, I advise that you check your Soul Gem."

You look at your Soul Gem.

[CORRUPTION: 23%]
Damn, it's beginning to fill up. Not enough that you need an Amber Relic, though, but it's still almost a quarter full. "It's my fault," you tell her. Tears begin welling up in your eyes. "If I had saved Kyouko from that tornado, an innocent would still be alive! Because of me, this Goron's dead and Kyouko might get killed in the woods! And since she doesn't have her memories of being a magical girl, how the hell can she defend herself?!? Who's to say she won't be dead when I find her!" You pause, then stare at the ground. "I've already failed. I can't be a hero like Mami if I've basically left an innocent die, all because I'm not strong enough."
For all the happiness you wish for someone, someone else gets cursed with equal misery.
"Dominam," Fi simply says. "The Spirited One is still alive."

"But for how long? She's practically depowered, and all I have are this sword and this stupid lyre! How can I save her? How can I defeat whatever kidnapped Kyouko? How can I save anyone if I can't even save Kyouko from that tornado, leaving this goron and lord knows who else for dead in those monsters' search for her!" You look down at the ground again. "...And what would Mami and Madoka think of me? I've already had my first failure." Would something like this have happened if you and Mami hadn't gotten to the TV witch in time to save Hitomi and those others who were kissed by it?
That is a perfect mindset, Your Grace.
"I do not possess the capabilities of human emotion, but I do know this, Dominam. You are the Chosen Hero, and therefore you can still be it. Now, Mistress Sayaka. The Ancient Texts state that the closer the Spirited One gets to the spring in Faron Woods, the more her memories will return. She will soon remember being a magical girl, and be able to once again defend herself."

"But what about the races that already live on the surface?" you ask. "Can they defend themselves?"

"We cannot change the minds of all who live on the surface. We can only minimize their suffering when their acquaintances are lost. In the end... the decision is yours. Will you be the hero and protect the surface, so you can be strong enough to protect her."

"B-But... I already failed at saving her once. Who's to say I won't fail again?" But then again, she'll regain her memories... You stare off into the distance, just being silent for a few minutes. "I'll be the hero. I can still be a hero like Mami. She's probably failed a few times at saving people from witches after all, and has likely run into things like this," you say, the tears beginning to leave. You pick up the Goddess Sword. "I'll try and protect the surface as best as I can. And when Kyouko gets her memories back? We'll do it together." You hear vultures and begin following the path to Faron Woods. "All right, whoever kidnapped Kyouko." Your eyes narrow. "Game on."

OOC: Welp, I just killed off Gorko the Goron. As for why Sayaka's reaction was so extreme? Well, she's an idealist. "SAVE ALL THE THINGS!" She's unnerved by it, and well... all her fear that she kept hidden just got out, because in her mind, she wasn't strong enough to save Kyouko, therefore getting innocents caught in the crossfire. The monsters were going after Kyouko, after all, and Gorko was like
allowing Kyouko to escape. Gorko died of his injuries soon after.

Kyouko saved Sayaka after Oktavia, even though it was Madoka's wish that sent them to Hyrule. Sayaka wants to return the favor. And what if Kyouko's killed? Their new chance at life would basically go to waste.

Because she's more scared than she lets on, the mental dam broke down. She considers this her first failure as a hero. There's also the fact that even though she's in Hyrule, she still looks up to Mami. In her mind, she can't be like a hero like Mami if she's already failed once. Then she linked it to "what if Hitomi and the others weren't saved from H.N. Elly and died of poison?"

This was edited and added because of some constructive criticism I received.

Semi-Canon Omake: The Death of Gorko
Gorko the Goron was surprised to see a girl laying unconscious on the ground. As she began to stir, she saw him. "Who are you?" she asked.

"I am Gorko the Goron! I am researching the ancient history of these woods here," he said.

"Nice to meet you, Gorko," the girl said, standing up. "What're ya doing here?"

"Just like I said, I'm researching. According to the ancient texts, there is some place up above called the Isle of the Goddess, way up in the sky! The sky people live up on an island, riding around on birds bigger than them. The residents of all the islands live in a perfect society. The place was crafted by the goddess herself, so it figures that it is filled with wonders we do not have. The buildings are all made of gold! An endless spring of mystical water leads a river through the place! One sip of that stuff, and you become immortal!"

"Um, Gorko... I'm from there," the girl told him.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaa-"

"Spirited One here! She here!"

The girl and Gorko turned around to see red bipedal creatures with swords, three of them to be precise. "Go to the temple, Sky Girl," Gorko stated firmly. "I will hold them off." He pointed towards a temple in the distance.

The girl ran off towards the temple, and Gorko stood in front of the creatures.

"Out way, rock thing!" one yelled.

"No way!" Gorko shouted. "If you want to get to the girl, you'll have to go through me!" To prove his point, he punched one of the creatures hard, sending it flying towards the cliff. As the beast hit the cliff, it could feel most of its bones breaking.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEE!" screeched the second monster, running at Gorko. Gorko rolled out of the way, and his rolling got even faster, to the points spikes came out. He then bowled over the second one.

The final monster looked around, seeing its comrades dead. It ran at Gorko and tried slicing at him, but he blocked with his fists. Gorko tried punching it, but the monster blocked with its sword. It sliced at Gorko's side, causing him to cringe as the monster sliced again and again, backing the Goron into a corner.

Gorko was bleeding all over, and he panted as the monster approached closer. "Me HATE Gorons!" the creature shouted, slicing at Gorko's arm. The Goron then finally saw his opening, and punched the monster. The monster screeched, and as Gorko approached the dying beast, it said one last thing. "You no take girl! She belong to Lord Ghirahim!"

"Not at all!" He tried punching the monster and...

Then the beast saw its own opening, and stabbed Gorko with its sword. Both of them fell over. The monster died, and Gorko pulled the sword out of his wound. He looked up at the sky. "I guess... I'll never see the Isle of the Goddess..." he said weakly, coughing up some blood. But then he briefly saw the clouds parting, and a floating island.

Gorko died with a smile.

You pull out the Goddess Sword, and begin dowsing for Kyouko's signal. But... for some reason, there are two signals in the dowsing. One is far off in the distance, deeper in the forest. However, another is behind a nearby tree. You decide to check the tree out first... until your foot steps on a twig, and you hear a "kwee-koo!"

"There's more of them! I thought that they were all gone!" it says, and you look around the tree.
Fi then appears next to you, and the creature lets out a squeaking noise. "Mistress Sayaka, I have recorded information on this particular creature," she says. "His name is 'Machi', and analysis indicates a 100% match with the Kikwis, a gentle and intelligent race of woodland creatures. Machi is the most relaxed member of the herbivorous Kikwi race, and analysis indicates that the danger this creature poses to your life, Mistress, is less than 1%. Vigilance is not required."

Her eyes then close very slowly, and she begins to glow. "Fi, you OK?" you ask. "I've never seen you do this before."

They then reopen, eyes blurring with light. "Yes, Mistress, I am fine, as I can sustain no damage," she assures you. "However, I detect an aura that closely correlates closely to both an item in your bag and your Soul Gem. I summarize this aura belongs to the Spirited One. Furthermore, I conclude that the dowsing signal given off by this Kikwi means that he came into contact with the Spirited One. I suggest that you find out more information about the forest to see where she has been."

"Got it," you say. You then turn to Machi, who still seems to be shaking. You think for a moment, then pull out your lyre. "Hey there," you tell Machi. "You like music?" Machi simply squeaks again, hiding beneath a plant. You then begin plucking the strings of the instrument, and a tune plays from it.

"That's really pretty..." Machi tells you, waddling over to you. "Are you a good guy? You don't look like those red things."

"Yes, I am," you explain. "Do you know if someone came by here a while back? Same race as me, a little taller, but with red hair in a ponytail? She's-" Machi quickly cuts in with another high-pitched, slightly adorable response.

"Oh, you mean Scary Girl!"

"Scary Girl," you deadpan.

"Yes, the scary red girl who came through the woods earlier today, koo-pweep! She said a lot of weird words and was chewing on some food! She got really mad when Lopsa only ate half of an apple she offered him!"

"Did she grab him and tell him not to waste food?" you ask. "Because that sounds like her." She's regaining her memories.

Machi made another nod, and was jumping up. "Exactly, koo! You should go see the elder, at the forest spring! She talked with him before heading off into the Lost Woods!"

"The Lost Woods..." you mutter to yourself. "OK then," you say. "Thanks for your help!" You begin walking off towards a trail leading up a hill.
You can hear a voice. Hero... come to the Spirit Spring to receive an item that will aid you in this great Mission you are taking part in...

A Twilight Princess Character Appears
You traverse through the forest, passing through the shade as you can see the sun begin to set above you. You keep going, until you reach a small spring. A large Kikwi stands to the side of it, and he turns to you. "Hello, kwoo!" it says to you. "The Light Spirit's going to appear, so come watch."

"Light Spirit?" you ask.

"Ordona!" the Kikwi explains. "She's the guardian of the forests outside of the Water Dragon's domain. However, it's only this area of the province that are outside the dragon's domain." The light grows brighter, the lines on the stones around the spring begin glowing, and the water turns a brilliant gold, and...

A reverse droplet appears, with an orb of light floating up. Immediately, a ring appears around the light. The ring then becomes what seems to be a horn on top of a goat-like creature. It has a long tail, and lines of light trail across its body.
Welcome, Your Grace, it says to you, its voice like a bell. I am Ordona, guardian deity of the Sealed Grounds and youngest of the five guardians. When you arrived on the Surface, my heart was filled with joy.

"You were the one who called me?" you ask.

Indeed. I wish to give you a treasure of the forest- a slingshot, made from the wood of Lifthrassil, the first tree of Hyrule. The light spirit turns its head towards the tree in the distance. Lifthrassil 's fruits contain the seeds of every Hylian tree, including the Great Tree which the Kikwi find sacred.

"Wait, so you're just giving me a slingshot made from that?" you ask, tilting your head as you look at the tree.

Yes.

"Cool."

And with that, Ordona glows even brighter. When the light fades, you can see a brown slingshot with small green lines on it, light shining through the lines. You can also see a few leaves growing from the slingshot.

This is the Arboreal Slingshot. It is an heirloom of the Deku Scrubs. Use it wisely.

"Wait, the Deku Scrubs?" you ask. "Wouldn't the Business Scrubs be mad?"

The Business Scrubs are under my domain, Ordona says. Though they worship a being known as Odolwa, they still revere me as a minor god, and gave this as an offering. No sense of humor, but at least it's honest.

You take the slingshot, and then turn to Ordona. "So, have you seen a red-haired girl going around? Machi the Kikwi said she went off into the Lost Woods." You look at the top of the waterfall, and can see a darker section of the forest.

Ah, the Spirited One. She told Bucha that she was heading to Skyview Temple, deep in the forest. The cliffs around my spring create a side path away from the reach of the Bokoblins, so you can avoid them while on your way to the Lost Woods. Do you have anything you need to ask me?
