The Rumor (mafia) (Town victory)

I know that's for sure town info - and atk's Lack of participation is now the only suspicious behavior (or at least anti-Town behavior) I can point towards

While there can only be one I believe that can wait for tomorrow. This seems more important.

I was more than likely not going to vote for any of the new players out of courtesy today, and with day 1 coming to an end soon, I believe my vote would be better placed here.

... And the memories are verified. Thanks for confirming the info everyone. >.<

This is no way a confirmation of being town, it sometimes is purposefully designed to be a one use town confirmation tool yes, but quite often scum are given town's win condition for this very purpose to appear as town. However it is good enough that I'm accepting of them to no longer be a good lynch target this day, it is information and they were discrete without a proper role claim.

Oh. So I once again flaunted my ignorance? It becomes a pattern...

I wonder if I am being annoying that way, forcing you to keep holding my hand throughout this game...

Hmm... I am suspicious if we verified your memories, or perhaps rather your theories on the win conditions... I admit, I may be throwing ideas until something sticks, but my intuition tingles, especially combined with a rather peculiar statement:
What did you mean by that, I wonder?

Still, that poses an interesting dilemma. If atk50 is scum, you most likely aren't, since you were the first one to lynch him and tried to undermine the bandwagon set on Derpmind...

But if atk50 is going to be revealed as part of Town, you become the prime scum candidate, at least in my eyes.

By the way, something funny, if unrelated:
I wouldn't say the role reveals are common, but when you're in the last 12 or so hours of a day and you're the person in a solid lead on the bandwagons then it's often better to reveal and hope that sways enough people than not to. You getting lynched is a definite downside for your group, someone else might not be.
So, little less than twelve hours remaining and we don't seem to have a lot of discussion going on.
And we get our first reveal! Your words turned out to be prophetic! :lol

What the rules do and do not say
Further update on the temp ban: the rules do not say, "This game will be suspended if you are unable to fully participate due to actions of this forum's moderators unrelated to this game."

They do say, "If life happens, and you need an extended phase or a replacement, let me know. If possible, providing said replacement would be preferable."

Happenings on this forum unrelated to this game that nonetheless affect your ability to post in this thread in a timely manner fall under "life" for this purpose. That said, future GMs may wish to consider clarifying this rule on this point.

You are in no way being annoying, there are a lot of moving optional pieces in mafia game design. Basically the rule of thumb is nothing is ever 100% certain baring an open set-up.

@atk50 you're on the chopping block currently its good manners for you to be informed.

In a past game (Crystal Watcher's) about 3/4ths of the Town had confirmed off of one player just reading off their rolecard. This is the exact scenario again.

When I said "Hint" I meant more like "I know I can't win this alone" than "HERE ARE MY WIN CONDITIONS WITH ONLY A FEW WORDS CHANGED/SKIPPED!"

And when I said "Do Not Respond" I meant for everyone to not vocally hop on that verification wagon.

I believe in this case you're perhaps being a bit more paranoid than is required. I do not know about the specifics of that game, though it has been referenced many a time. But if this is properly a town confirmation tool (which once again is impossible to really confirm due what are common counter measures) they have successfully made it a one use thing by being more thoroughly described than what you suggest in the above which would've allowed it to do exactly as you fear and act as a potentially mutli-confirmation tool. It does not confirm any that have been swayed by it, myself included, as derp can still be informed scum, and scum can easily lie about being swayed based solely on noticing the bandwagon changing, or even predicting it would be changed following a post.

I understand the frustration because currently I'm having memories of the Brighton game where the end of the day went from Nani or Nictis being lynched for ideological reasons to suddenly lynching TMR for not being active based solely of their not being time enough for discussion to hit anyone else. But we also don't want to the game to be a Yugioh where we had like five claims day 1.

I'll be one hundred percent frank, that bit I mentioned? That killed the game. It had problems, but it was still a game. I'll not go into the other problems right now, but quoting from the rolecard instantly verified more than half of the Town and made it impossible for the Mafia to win.

@atk50 @TheMaskedReader I'm not overreacting here am I? Because a little more than half of Derp's post is lifted straight from it, and three people have immediately verified themselves off of it.

Only one person is verified because of it - Derpmind - that is pretty obviously town wincon information, even if you didn't actually get that information in your own role card. There could also be informed scum to prevent this exact kind of thing. I think you're slightly over exaggerating the magnitude of this action.

Fun thing, the informed scum thing was specifically started to prevent this being an issue.

And when I said "Do Not Respond" I meant for everyone to not vocally hop on that verification wagon.
Well, in my defence, it is soon going to be midnight where I live and I got a bit too excited to get a Townie here (well, mostly to become a confirmed Townie, even though now that I think about it, it doesn't work as a confirmation all that well)...

Well, to play advocatus diaboli, I don't think that anyone except Derpmind got truly verified. It doesn't require you to be a Townie to write "this guy is confirmed Town" after seeing so much of very specific information being revealed by Derpmind, and that is without taking into account the possibility that Town's win conditions are public knowledge.
Like I said, it doesn't take a Townie to say "I know for sure that is town info" when said info screams "town info". Especially when someone (me) has already said "we have a confirmed Townie". Regardless of if we are both scum and used the opportunity to try to remove the suspicions, or if I am scum and decided to hurriedly claim "confirmed" for this reason and a Townie obliviously followed suit, or if I am a Townie and Threnodist is a scum who joined the confirmation wagon for aforementioned reason, we would react the same way we did.

We can't say for sure that any of us are Town based on that (I can even conceive an argument for us being scum due to such a hurried confirmation) and even Derpmind can't still be said to be above and beyond the suspicion of being scum.

...God, it is weird to argue against oneself.

I probably won't manage to post anything before night phase starts, so I might as well vote. Good night everyone!

Alright, shit. This isn't going to go well, but it's my last resort: I am the district plumber. I am a town aligned killer, and I can't win alone. I kill by putting people through the garbage disposal. I didn't want to tell for obvious reasons. I'm keeping my vote where it is.

A. What's your kill flavor?

B. Are there any limits on your killing?

Just switching off because I know Atk50 is telling the truth now.

Probably should have gone for someone else actually, I just scrolled up to the first non-Derp/Atk name and picked them. Hmm...
