The Pistachion Plot (A Disney Villains Victorious CK2-Style Secret Society Quest)

Unfortunately some of this isn't canon (I believe LOVEMUFFIN was formed by Doof during the summer that P&F take place in) but it's a very interesting idea. +5 xp.
In honor of Allura finding her calling in mad science, I have devoted myself to making a suitable picture to demonstrate her glory

Thanks for your rendition of the next sprout! Take another +5 xp.

So we are definitely spending 10 xp on Allura's mad science action next turn, cause that can either go wonderfully or absolutely nightmarishly. Especially because pistachions die if they get hit by hazardous enough chemicals.

do we have 10xp? I have 5 and I kind of want to save it for a Katie action.

There's No Such Thing as a Free Ranch
You had Katie come with you while you were driving across the countryside looking into some of the ranches that were listed publicly for sale.

It wasn't like you necessarily needed to buy the best ranch, pistachion biology combined with the goals of your plan would make it less necessary to make a huge profit from a farm or ranch, so you figured you might as well have her come along so you can at least buy a ranch that she likes that would be close by.

-----------------------------------------

Somehow after a few wrong turns, you ended up at a local ranch owned by an older gentleman that was almost ready for retirement. As it turned out, he didn't have any family that wanted to continue his ranching legacy, and he needed some extra money for retirement but didn't want to retire before passing on his knowledge.

You were able to come up with a deal that would benefit the both of you. Your 'niece' Katie would start working at the ranch, learning the ropes from the elderly rancher, and after a year if he thought she was ready, he would sell you the ranch and move to the sunny state of Florida to enjoy his retirement. If it takes longer than that, you'll just have to say Katie went through a delayed growth spurt.

After you worked out the bits and pieces of the deal, you ended up talking about how he started out as a rancher to begin with. And that's when he brought up something that could completely change your plans for taking over the state.

Apparently there was something called a "Stock-Raising Homestead Act", a government program to give ranchers the ownership of 640 acres of undeveloped public land to be used for ranching for just $1.25 per acre. Considering what he was going to sell his private ranch to you for, that price would be a steal. While the act was widely used decades ago, it was quite rare to see it used nowadays.

With 640 acres of land being nearly given to every sprout, that could soon become a huge amount of land, and with Katie getting some practical experience ranching, she could teach the sprouts that are willing the ropes to make their ranches actually profitable as well, and they could have loyal pistachion workers rather than hiring human ones for additional profit.

While the act may not be a good deal anymore for human ranchers, it could be a perfect way to have a large amount of pistachions naturally dot themselves around the state with a good amount of land to house them all for at least quite a few years. Plus, there are similar homestead acts to acquire land for the purposes for farming that you could also make use of. Either way, it's a decent potential option to get past the early land limitation that exponential pistachion growth would initially be bottlenecked by.

Derek Diplomacy +1
Derek Stewardship +1
Starting in 1958 (and onwards) Katie will be busy learning the ropes, being given practical experience on how to operate a ranch, ride a horse, and other related activities from an experienced professional

Katie just keeps winning. At this point well be the ranching king of the US by the end of the prologue

I kinda want her to learn hypnotic yodeling a la Alameda Slim?

Edit: I've been looking into ranch-based possible Hero Units, and there should be a Possible relative who's a rancher somewhere between Montana and Wyoming, Slim Possible. He wouldn't be that old yet and might not be settled yet.

Slims a cool dude, and it would be nice to have an in to Kim possible pre series start. We might be able to stop shego from finishing the deal so to speak if we have a reason to care what happens to her

Is Slim Possible a rancher? He's more of an eccentric billionare playboy to me. I'm under the impression he uses robotics to have fun, and not run a farm, or run a ranch.

I cannot recall if there was anything that showed he actually had a way to make a profit from his land.

Well... Not sure. He self-identifies as a rancher, he has a cowboy hat and a moustache. That qualifies him as a "cowboy" to me, but I dunno if he's actually any good at it. Though even if he's just playing at ranching, that suits us well because we are too, and either way a Possible scientist would neatly cover the competence hole in our Learning score.

Edit: on second thought, even if it makes no sense I'd probably guess he is good at ranching, because he's a Possible. Hypercompetence is their entire family gimmick.

Prologue 1958 Part 1
Kansas Domination

The year is 1958. Only a few more years before your first generation of sprouts are ready to enter the world as adults, and only a few more years before the next phase of your plan will begin.

[] Operation: Green Thumb

Pick Two actions in total (Not from each category). You currently have an extra +5 to all rolls relating to Operation: Green Thumb until the end of the prologue.

Martial
-[] Rob a bank (loud)
DC 55 (reduced)

You had checked out the local bank and were shocked to notice a lack of security cameras. Then you remembered that they wouldn't be a thing for at least another decade or so. Perhaps it would be prudent to fabricate a generic human disguise to rob the bank, stash the money somewhere, and to retrieve it later? It'll take some time to come up with a plan and acquire the tools necessary, but you think it could be done.

(Reward: Loadsamoney, can attempt many purchase actions, ??? when prologue ends)

Diplomacy
-[] Win Friends and Influence People
DC 75

You'll admit, you don't exactly have the best grasp of human conversation. While you were able to impress your bosses, you feel as if you have more room to grow in the art of persuasion, and a good first step would be to get some practical experience.

(Reward: A better understanding of humanity and how to influence people, potential career advancement, ??? when prologue ends)

Stewardship
-[] Save your money to purchase something
DC 50

Buying the home ate through "your" savings, but you have a good salary to keep you afloat. Perhaps you should focus on saving and investing your money in order to make some big purchases? You could cut back on food and start gathering nutrients from the ground at night.

(Reward: Unlocks ability to attempt one purchase action: invest in real estate, purchase farm, purchase ranch, purchase firearms, etc.)

Intrigue
-[] Rob a bank (silent)
DC 75 (reduced)

You had checked out the local bank and were shocked to notice a lack of security cameras. Then you remembered that they wouldn't be a thing for at least another decade or so. Perhaps it would be prudent to fabricate a generic human disguise to rob the bank, stash the money somewhere, and to retrieve it later? It'll take some time to come up with a plan and acquire the tools necessary, but you think it could be done.

(Reward: Loadsamoney, can attempt many purchase actions, ??? when prologue ends)

Learning
-[] Study the framework of government
DC 65

There is a lot of complexity regarding the plan besides just running for governor and winning. There is the federal government, branches in the federal government, branches in the state government, and the local government(s) of various districts and counties. You need to learn all you can in order to determine your infiltration priorities.

(Reward: Can better plan the government angle of taking over the state)

i kinda want to have Hunk help Alura with mad science. he is a blue collar work guy and every good evil scientist needs a strong henchmen to help them.

-----------------------------------------------------

This is my plan. It lets Keith enjoy himself since so far hes only been doing skill training, hopefully will let Lance find his calling, and maybe Hunk can get super powers from Alluras experiment if we are lucky, who knows

I want at least one or two human connections for our character cause who you know is important for politicians, and the framework of government is going to be real important.

I put watch white wilderness cause its a disney movie, and we have good luck with disney properties. Katie got her trait from one

We're coming to the point where a lot of the Crimes we can get away with will be a lot harder to commit. My plan focuses on maximizing our gains in the prologue to put us in the best position in teh future.

Now, I know people want to be strictly law abiding, but we do need these skills (and this money). So lets get them now while the risk is minimal.

Not making sure we can reroll the lowest sprout roll is an awful idea. If Allura messes up on the mad science action we will definitely have Incredibly bad ramifications to deal with.

In addition, we don't need a ton of money. What are we going to buy with it? We aren't desperate for anything.

That's teh Tinker with inators argument all over again. Rerolls are nice, but this turn I'm using it on the bank job. A reroll isn't helpful if you don't make progress otherwise. if Allura tanks mad science then she just won't be a mad scientist. We can put Hunk or Lance on that instead.

Nystical made if very clear that the mad science roll was IMPORTANT tm. Mad science entails awful results if the scientist fucks up. Like, creating rampaging monsters or dying to poisonous chemicals bad, and Pistachions are ESPECIALLY vulnerable to chemicals
