The Old World: Dark Age of the Empire

Wolf has my vote, iron throne sounds too much like a song of ice and fire, feeling its a bit of a cliche, that's all. Plus their internal politcs actually evolving to allow them to use firearms is actually a net good overall.

[ ] The Iron Empire Plan
-[ ] The Iron Emperor
You decide not to support the Wolf Emperor in the second week of the Election.
-[ ] Nuln
Last week you made a deal to push for an Iron Emperor, the Grand Theogonist doesn't like change.
-[ ] The Defender of the Provinces
You stick with your pledge to join a pact of mutual defence against Sylvanian antagonism, Hertwig continues to pledge support to an Iron Emperor candidacy.
-[ ] Rivals United
Nuln and Hergig have long been in competition with one another over such matters as gunsmithing, though it has generally been a friendly sort of rivalry built upon ceremony rather than hostile action. Put an end to the rivalry and pledge to make Ludenhof the Imperial Chancellor and he will vote for Nuln.
-[ ] The Talisman of Nuln
You choose to cast a vote for the Iron Emperor

Can someone please post a wolf emperor plan please. Too lazy to make one of my own. Also this is the kind of situation that being number 2 is best since you won't automatically have a target on your back. Plus this wolf emperor seems easy to manipulate, making our son or even ourselves easy to become emperor once they kill each other.

[ ] Sticking to the plan
-[ ] The Iron Chancellor
You pledge to bring the Wolf Emperor the three votes he needs, and a free shipment of two and a half thousand rifles, in exchange for the position of Imperial Chancellor.
-[ ] Middenheim
You've promised that a vote for the Wolf this time, is worth two votes for Sigmar next time.
-[ ] The Marcher Companies
You send the spare Nulner Rifles from the Militarstutz to Bechafen and train a new Ostermarker State Troop, Hertwig will vote for Middenheim.
-[ ] Rivalry Upheld
You'll not step into whatever is happening between Hergig and Bergsberg, the internal affairs of that Province are not your concern right now. And Hergig will vote for Middenheim.
-[ ] The Talisman of the Midden
You choose to cast a vote for the Wolf Emperor

Alight, we secured him 5 votes, now he has to listen to us and make us the chancellor. Can't wait to go back to doing research and development like before instead of playing a wild goose chase with vampires.

Agree to a joint research agreement between the Imperial Gunnery School and the Hochland Arsenal, the Long-Rifle smiths are hoping to incorporate some of the secrets of the Flintlock, and then Hochland will support the Iron Emperor.
We don't have to pick this now, we can just exchange that tech with Hochland later in exchange for something more useful than a vote for the iron Emporer that we don't need in the first place if we're planning on doing Wolf Emporer.

Anyways,I'll take the new update as a flimsy excuse to post this Steampunk Imperial Light Cavalry concept art in MS Paint:
Bro, why settle with an electro lance when you can have a bomb lance-like how the Kriege caverly do in Warhammer 40k? Sure, they're one use only, but they'd one tap anything they hit & light cavalry aren't going to be staying in a prolonged fight anyway. Also, I feel like they should at least be given a cuirass for light armor.

He sees our move to put him in the line of fire and calls it. Making us Reichsmarshall is putting us in the line of fire when things go really bad and making us responsible for failure when things go regular bad, blunting our own future imperial bid. No one votes for the one that lead the unified Imperial armies to defeat. Things do go great? The GT is right, he stands to gain most.

We want to be in a position to benefit when he fails and take up the mantle as his nr 2? Then we have to pay for it.

On the calculus it doesn't make sense to play ball this hard, but he knows we want Imperial unity and will blink first. We can decline out of spite, but that leaves us all worse off.

Todbringer is a step ahead once again, but playing with him is still better than stepping away from the table. Rolling the dice on both Marienburg or Reikland flipping to us to bring us to 8 votes is the mother of all gambles, with an immense downside if we don't make it.

It's a phyrric victory and ends up costing a lot to put someone else on the throne, but it's the best option for now.

welp better he's on our side rather than not also he's quite strange for an ulrican being so good at politics but well their have been stranger things but I guess if we want an united he's our key now.

You know with the iron emperor we'll not even have enough votes to get a majority effectively splitting the empire which will definitely put stirland in jeopardy since wolf can basically say nope I'm out you deal with stirland yourselves and he's just gonna go rebuilding and doing his own thing.

And do does anyone realize that we are now if the iron emperor we'll only have ostermark as an actual ally since we'll have to convince both reikland and marienburg to join which will be hard for reikland since they still hate us and most importantly it will consume more of our dice to get them to join our faction dice we could use for fight konrad all the while he's making stirland the next Sylvania with all his butchering and the fact that vlad is coming back is and is likely gonna target the weaker empire which is us is not gonna be good.

Also hochland is basically a trap since the baron of Bergsberg will definitely betray the hergigs and declare himself the true elector count and try to depose the hergigs with the support of the wolf tying down their armies from helping us to fight konrad and they'll likely want support and we can I'll afford a two front war with the wolf and konrad.

And the fact that ostermark can't help us in the fight since their state troops are so weak to the point where we got to leave some forces behind is not a good show for us.

Just a reminder, we don't have a choice between us being Emperor or Wolf being Emperor.

We have a choice between him as Emperor, or no generally accepted Emperor at all.

The Empire has not existed for a millennium and Todbringer doesn't seem like the kind of guy to accept that he lost 7/8 or something like that.
We'd just have the next step in the Age of Two/Three Emperors.
