Btw, as a small question on probably unintended synergies, what happens if you have the Martyr's Wrath and Lazarus Injection on you at the same time? Would you be able to succeed a mission as if you'd died due to the MW, but still live due to the LI, resulting in basically the equivalent of a normal success via pseudo-dying?

I'm afraid the Lazarus Solution is unable to put back together a pile of meat. (Not in the amounts you'll be carrying around, anyway.)

Martyr's Wrath is insta-death, no take-backsies

Okay, had that think, got barely any ideas for penniless folks during the shopping stages, aside from like... training, setting up and communion among Denominations (Basically mini-cults among the Nephilim), for like, pretty minor and or incredibly specific bonuses or something

Nothing as useful as the military weaponry and augmentations, the results of training probably won't last without regular tempering, and being a Denomination member probably only gives bonuses for really specific things or if you fufill certain criteria, but also can only join a single one and changing which one you're part of is difficult, but also give its members access to minor missions

Like being a Skull-Shrine member means you cannot augment your head in any way, and gives you a small bonus against things with exposed heads containing skulls or something
Denomination ideas will probably be subject to QM approval

But this all feels really complicated and unrefined for a new addition, but its the best suggestion I got

Another idea is making missions less all-or-nothing. After all, the resources are meant to be rewards based on performance, not necessarily on success.

As such, whilst I wholeheartedly support the idea of having mini-cults of our own which people can "devote" themselves to (perhaps with Omake bonuses being worked in through this as well, with Omakes letting one enhance their "piety" and the bonuses they gain from their denomination, or possibly even outright creating new cults, with GM approval ofc), I think a simpler fix would be... that you get resources per die over the success threshold, rather than just for success.

Basically, for every die that's within the threshold for success, you get a portion of the resource reward, for example at T2, having only 1 successful die means getting only 50% of the resource reward, at T3 it means getting only 1/3rd of the reward, and so on. This way, even if people aren't successful, they can still gain resources if at a slower rate, in order to get equipment with which they can start being more successful.

Hmmm, would anyone else be interested in stuff like this?

Alright!! It is time for us to be deployed for Heaven!

@Dragonofelder when are we being deployed!
Have a bit of a stomach bug at the moment, but I'll get it out as soon as I can.

High command @Dragonofelder, is there a possibility of a traitor Nephilim? I overheard it from the smaller people
Such a thing is clearly impossible, illogical, and insane. Please report those you heard such lies from, then report to your handler for Repentance.

Hmmm, another thing I'd like people's opinions on.

I have been considering this a little, and I think that there needs to be some means for players to grow beyond simple pass/fail.

Specific point of consideration you mentioned the 'meat grinder' aspect with harder missions; the problem is that when we hit the 'meat grinder', we're going to be running into the issue that if we're thrown against missions that assume mass casualties, but the only way to strengthen characters is through successfully completing missions that are likely to kill most characters (and are likely to be impossible for undeveloped characters), then we're left rolling a boulder up a hill as our best characters are wiped out and we're left with a rotating bunch of rookies that have no way to build up the kind of stats and skills necessary to get anywhere close to having a reasonable shot of actually beating a missions short of extraordinarily good dumb luck.

I'm much interested in what was discussed as it will give a bit more of a challenge at the same time be a bit more fair for those that didn't succeed in their deployment.

What about custom names of heavenly hosts or hosts of greatly known in military history like for example.

Michael's host: a heavenly host that was created at the beginning of war against the green folk and crustacian menace, for they are the first host that have responded against the threats of both the green folk and the crustacean threats.

For they are a mighty host of ships and ground units with angel bombers and angel fighters flying through the sky to strike at the enemies of heaven.

Currently they are on assignment to Whitchpool, as to ensure that the crustacian menace is pushed back. For the general leading the host is General David.

I am going to think about making a omake on General David later when given the chance and show it to QM before posting it in the quest.

Perhaps a bit biased since one of the ideas is mine, but just want to get my overall approval down for the purposes of counting, especially with the idea I mentioned of tying in the denominations to Omakes, which would help encourage player interaction with the quest, and reward those that actively participate.

Turn 3 Briefing - 3.1.40,333 - Twin Wings Crusade (Week 3) New
…increasing numbers of dedicated troop transports. Their fleet has noticeably become more aggressive in defending them, allowing large numbers of dropships to land without adequate reprisal. Based on their landing zones, we can only assume the Crustaceans are attempting to reinforce their final strongholds.

If we do not remove their taint from Witchpool they shall dig in, and only become more difficult to remove. If I may be so bold, I wish to request a full deployment of Nephilim, both to bleed their strength and deliver the final blow…

…previously unrecorded levels of growth within select areas. Although it is drawing resources away from other areas - notably those far from front lines - based on predictive divinations in the long term the biosphere will have doubled, possibly tripled its military capabilities.

Put in
military terms, the biosphere is fortifying and settling in for a long conflict. Although this behaviour is providing excellent data, the loss of Laetitia would be non-optimal for Haven. We suggest this fact is made plain to the mudsloggers - it is their purpose to deal with this…

Week 3, Month 1, Year 40,333 of Our Great Lord

Greetings [Nephilim]. Data from both engagement worlds are showing the adversaries are increasing in strength - by the end of the month, the Threat Level for both worlds is set to increase.

In the face of this, Crusade Command is introducing a secondary objective. If at least one of the worlds can be fully cleansed it shall be a blessing for future actions. This will, however, not be easy. It has been divinated that only a near-total deployment of Nephilim to a single world will bring about a favourable outcome.

Of lesser importance, the Ministry of Defence is readjusting the distribution of supplies for the Nephilim programme. This should allow for wider usage of quality equipment.

Blessings be upon you, and amen.

Twin Wings Crusade
Duration:
One Week
Objective(s):
Defend Laetitia
Defend Witchpool

Reward: N/A

Bonus Objective(s):
Cleanse Laetitia
OR
Cleanse Witchpool

Reward: 10 RP

Deployments

[ ] Laetitia
Operation:
Defence
Adversary: Green Folk
Global Threat Level: 2
Control Growth: 21.5%
Projected Control: 50.6%
Hosts Present: 3
Tactical Target(s):
-[ ] Heart Trees (TL4)
(Decapitation) Nexuses of biosphere growth and control. Destroying them will affect the entire network.
-[ ] Dryad Groves (TL3)
(Sabotage) Dryads emerge from these groupings of trees. Destroying them will thin their numbers.
-[ ] Fire Teams (TL3)
(Support) Infantry and mechanised units equipped with flamethrowers drive the vegetation back, but are always coming under attack.

[ ] Witchpool
Operation:
Defence
Adversary: Crustacians
Global Threat Level: 2
Control Growth: 24%
Projected Control: 57%
Hosts Present: 3
Tactical Target(s):
-[ ] Barnacle Bastions (TL4)
(Decapitation) Fortified bunkers, often in complexes near cities. The Crustacians' leaders cower here - kill them.
-[ ] Vehicle Shoals (TL3)
(Sabotage) Zones where vehicles are repaired or resupplied. Attack while they are unprepared.
-[ ] Beachheads (TL3)
(Support) The Host's landing areas come under constant threat, impairing their ability to deploy.

I'm not fully expecting you to reclaim a world, but if you can, the reward is 10 RP for everyone that deploys this turn, regardless of where you deployed. There will be a moratorium to give you some time to discuss. I'll post a reminder when the vote opens properly.

As a reminder - If you don't want to do a tactical target deployment, just vote for the world. You also need to vote for your equipment!

[ ] [Deploy] Witchpool

[ ] [Loadout] {Name}
- [ ] {Main Weapon}
- [ ] {Secondary Weapon}
- [ ] {CQC Weapon}
- [ ] {Hardware 1}
- [ ] {Hardware 2}
- [ ] {Hardware 3}

Delete the { } brackets and fill in the relevant details. If you don't have enough hardware just leave them out. If you don't fill a slot, I'll fill it with a basic item. The current basic items are the Peltor Autocannon and Combat Blade, as well as the free item you might have picked up.

Based on feedback, I'm also going to start giving you partial rewards if you fail a deployment, but don't die. I'll work on the numbers later, but roughly- the closer to success, the better.

I should say that after this week updates will slow dramatically, because I'm literally travelling half way around the world to see my brother. I'll do what I can, and I might do some omakes to make up for it.
