The Nephilim Crusade (Helldivers 2 Inspired Riot Quest)

I could see another upgrade vector being 'nudges', which we can spend one-to-one to boost specific die, pushing certain ones above the success threshold or just away from death ones.

When you mention about the older trees being able to effectively combat against ships in orbit, would their reloading system be related to photo synthesis. If they are going to be relying on plants then it would make sense that they would rely on the rays of the sun, and that they would be weakened when it is night time.
The Green Folk biosphere does perform photosynthesis for energy, although it has other ways. For the trees, they grow seeds internally.

Has the Virtues been researching ways to counter the green folk's ability to spread to other planets via seed launches, or make it so that the Green folk would be weakened in some way similar to plant repellant chemical agent, though on a military scale?
Although fire is an excellent way to stop the spread, roots don't burn easily. The Ministry of Science is working on a number of projects, many chemical in nature, although nothing is close to even limited deployment.

The seed are a whole other issue, as they can be mistaken for asteroids or other space debris. Work is also being done to help identify them.

Hmmm, maybe. I can certainly think of a way to do this. I'd prefer to stick to hardware and such to put things in your favor for now.

There are a number of radiotrophic fungi--fungi that can metabolize gamma radiation using melanin, in a process not unlike photosynthesis. And other fungi that can bioconcentrate uranium in ground water.

This suggests, in deep cavern groves, mushrooms that are living nuclear reactors...

So, Cherubim are full/near full coversion cyborgs then? With only the brain, if that, left? What about rank and file? Baseline humans? Minor augmentation? Haflway through?

Also, will we ever end up fighting with NPC support from either?

Cherubim are indeed more machine than man, and mentally pretty reworked too. Common soldiers might get bionics if they're important enough, although as they climb the ranks their tutelaries get upgraded.

You'll have the option to fight alongside side the Hosts this turn, but I don't think you'll have the option to deloy them yourself.

Just a reminder, if you deployed last turn and haven't claimed the free equipment, you have... six hours to do that.

Turn 2 Briefing - 2.1.40,333 - Twin Wings Crusade (Week 2)
…this is Malakhim, your source for news and current events. We bring you a special report on the progress of the Twin Winds Crusade, and the initial deployment of the Nephilim super soldiers! On both worlds our newest champions have won overwhelming victories, driving back the inhuman invaders! Conflicts that were due to last months have instead been cut down to weeks! It is speculated that the coming months will see words liberated from their oppressors, until they are driven beyond the Outer Sectors! Denizens have been instructed to spend their Assigned Meditation Hours praying for the swift victory of our Hosts, and our heroic Nephilim!

In other news, a new reward scheme for efficient workers will come into effect over the next week, depending on availability. Those eligible will be given access to an exciting new ration option - Shell Salad…

General Notice For Crusade Command Elements
It has been decided that the objectives of the Twin Wings Crusade will not be changed, even after the overwhelming victories of the Nephilim. Witchpool is likely to be cleansed fully shortly, but Laetitia is still a concern. Seraphim Micheal is already determining what actions will be necessary.

Furthermore, going forwards the Nephilim will be directed to complete objects, instead of ramping behind enemy lines. This will increase their effectiveness, at the cost of increasing casualty rates, but this has been judged as worthwhile. New units are currently being distributed, both to expand operations and replace casualties, and production has been ramped up on Haven.

It has also been decided that going forwards the Nephilim will be equipped based on combat effectiveness. As new weaponry designed to their specifications are produced, they will become more available.

Continue with your work, and our Great Lord's blessings be upon you.

Amen.

Week 2, Month 1, Year 40,333 of Our Great Lord

Greetings [Nephilim]. Preparations are complete for your second deployment, including new tactical information from the Hosts. There are several missions that you may be given, including deploying in support of the Host's ground forces, and targeting the enemy's command elements.

New equipment is due to arrive post-deployment, and distributed as necessary.

Blessing be upon you, and amen.

Pending Further Research

Tactical Targets are optional deployments that grant double the resource rewards of a standard deployment, and also an additional bonus, while having higher Threat Levels and therefore a higher chance to fail or die. To get the bonus, three Nephilim need to succeed on a target, and the bonus can stack.
  • Decapitation targets relate to the command structure of the adversary. Destroying them reduces their Control Growth.
  • Sabotage is about the adversary's military power, and limiting it in some way. When destroyed, they grant an additional die for all players deploying on the planet next turn.
  • Support is about fighting alongside the Hosts. Doing so makes them more effective on the planet next turn.
If you don't want to do a tactical target deployment, just vote for the world. Otherwise it should look like this:

I would rather thin the troops. I will appreciate the help...like any help. Actually, if I remember right, TL3 means I need to roll 3 successful dices...and I have only 3 available...risky.

Great coordination we're seeing here.

Edit : Actually, let's pick a mission that's actually possible.

Alright! Time for my deployment for the kingdom of heaven. @Donald Darf hope you don't mind me tagging along with you for this Tactical target.

GLORY TO HEAVEN!!

I feel like stacking Sabotage will slowly snowball if successful, but having to hit 4-6 to the die whilst needing three successes (which means if you don't have a Prayer Hand Cannon means you need to be very lucky) nevermind having three Nephilims do so successfully...

Still going to Witchpool, but what are everyone's thoughts on the Tactical Targets and their increased Success Threshold and Numbers of Success needed?

[X] Witchpool

Gonna leave the specialized missions to those who picked the secondary weapon option for now, just gonna help continue getting Witchpool's enemy control down in general.

QM, will you inform our fellow Nephilims in the (very unlikely but still possible) event that only one to two Nephilims tackled a Tactical Objective? Will their success count to the needed three succeses for the bonus to be applied somehow and thus carries over?

And unless if I'm remembering wrong, we only have two turns left before the campaign ends me thinks (because a turn is one week, and we only have like three weeks of actions thus three turns?)
