The Life and Times of Whitley Schnee (A RWBY Adventure AU)

[X]Willow Hit you: It was an accident she told you. It was the booze, the beer, anything that would deflect the responsibility from her own actions. She was angry and afraid of what she had done, what you would think. But worse of all, she was lying to your face. You could see it in her eyes, as you ran away. She had done it on purpose. And the only thing she saw wasn't her little boy. But Jacques.

Don't really want Whitley to be the best punch master with the Fought Back action, and I'm concerned the Broken Weiss action would be boring. Going with Willow's fall, for the dichotomy between terrible parents.

[X]Winter Left: Your sister didn't want to be under anyone's boot. She told father that she did not want to be a part of this family anymore. That he dishonored the Schnee family name with every breath he took. And her gaze at you as she said those words hurt more than any wound, and word, any insult that you had heard. She did not just mean your father. Her words were pointed at you.

Character development and meaningful scars
Well, its Develpoment and scars, that is about it.

Meaningfulness really doesn't matter.
Well, it also steals Weiss' battle and makes it our thing.
As people have correctly deduced, this is the option where Whitley tries to become a Huntsman like his elder siblings. But note the mention of the scar being worse:
A moment to state that, while the scar is bad and our boy's vision is damaged, he is not blinded.

I would have made it quite clear in the option that he would
You want to horde power and be a BS protagonist who can slap their way across Remnant, enjoy a giant permanent debuff to combat.
Well... PErhaps not exactly slap your way across Remnant, but you will be able to fight Grimm pretty well.
This is basically what went down in canon, and carries many of the same problems. Winter wants nothing to do with the Schnee family as it stands, and Whitley is, to her perspective, obsessing and whining over a dead man rather than doing shit. But it basically means we're not getting sucked into the boobytrap that is the Atlas Military.
And it also opens up the "Hey your sister is hunting you down to send you back home, got to avoid her if you can!"
While the Fought Back option may seem like the way to go down a Beacon route, this is much more closely aligned with a tweaking of canon. as Weiss doesn't undergo her big defiance and choose to go to Beacon. Instead? Magoose reveals he's a secret Frozen fanboy and she breaks down. Weiss becomes the Good Little Girl Jacque wants, much like Elsa does her Conceal, Don't Feel. So Daddy Worstest doesn't give a shit if we go hang with Ozzie The Fuckless.
I am a Big Frozen Fan, no one asked about me ever liking the film.

Besides, Weiss, if she didn't rebel is basically Elsa, and that to me, is Gold!
It's quite a meta decision: Do you all want to hang with the canon characters at the price of Weiss losing everything?
...A 14-year-old, hormonal teenage boy with three very beautiful young women as roommates/ teammates living together.

People would claim that is the start of some Harem Anime shit!
This may seem a surprise to people who's only watched the show, but Willow's various appearances in the expanded media have shown her to steal credit for Weiss' achievements to boost her social standing and the SDC's reputation. The closest thing to a benefit we get out of this is that Willow hasn't crawled inside a bottle to die and is pushing back in her own way.
And that will lead to a very interesting power dynamic with Jacques and Willow battling for control over the SDC, Weisses Future in it, and so much more.

God just talking about it makes me feel excited.

Whitley doesn't become a punch master if he fought back.

He's just far more trained in combat than in other options, and he got fucked by Nicks's Armor nearly blinding him.

And Broken Weiss leads to something very interesting. Like what Ruby gets up to without exploding all that dust the first day of Beacon.

Huh something someone said made me curious would this really damage that eye? It says over the eye and nearly blinding us I take that as being similar to Weiss as a blade barely missing the actual eye and getting an Aesthetic scar.

But even if I'm wrong there's to many options that will eventually be available to replace or make up for missing one of our original eyes the least of which is that huntsman have enhanced senses from what I can tell and that aura and the Schnee semblance is versatile. So doubtful it's a perm de buff

Minor nitpick and only one I have so far you forgot to update the winning vote at the top of the updoot

You will be partially blind, which is a minor, but permanent combat debuff... unless you pull a Maria and remove one of your eyes and replace it with a prosthetic.

[X]You Fought Back: You wished to be free of your Father's influence, to be free of so much pain and suffering and his abuse... He was... Not happy about it. And he punished you appropriately for it. If you wished to fight, you would fight for your freedom of the one thing you knew you would never touch, never attempt to destroy with your love of the Schnee name. The Armor of Nicholas Schnee, worn by a robot. You won. Barely, only rescued by the timely intervention of Weiss and Winter, who outright called it child abuse. But it left you horrifically injured, with a scar over your eye... nearly blinding you.

Neat though actually I wonder if we could trade that eye for someone else's there gotta be someone willing to pay or be paid to lose one of their eyes for the eye of a Schnee even damaged. Or maybe wear an eyepatch and make a glyph over it that acts as a second eye maybe? Or maybe much later repair or replace with magic?

Gonna be honest my time with dnd and other ttrpgs has given much experience with looking for ways to get rid of such debuffs I have like three more ideas off the top of my head sorry if it's annoying

The only thing I shall say is, if you discover magic, there are more pressing matters to attend to, like Stopping Salem from kidnapping you or Oz dissenting you to find out if one of his daughters actually survived the cataclysm that destroyed his family the first time around.

Because that will lead to some... intersting things.
What about taking a page out of Fox's book and learning Aura Sight?
I'm not saying that Whitley can't learn such a thing, but even with his increased intellect and drive, he'd still have trouble in certain subjects.

Kat, what you're forgetting is that Magoose tends to let things stick, and doesn't let the playerbase go ham on individual ideas. We're not playing a number-cruncher Optimal Playstyle tabletop game with a pushover DM. If Macbeth could just pay for someone else to pretend to be the King of Scotland while he ruled from the shadows, then it would completely undermine the tragedy.

Also prosthetic eyes on Remnant are hella sketch as shown by Maria. They're not really suited for someone living the Huntsman life due to the required regular recalibration and give life a Darth Vader style color gradient.
And it also opens up the "Hey your sister is hunting you down to send you back home, got to avoid her if you can!"
I mean, if Winter wants to drag us back, he can get through Oz. But given what you're probably going to do instead of Beacon... well that just make things damn interesting.

It's only a harem anime if the protagonist is bland, the women immediately fall for him, there's inexplicable nudity, and the author has zero ability to actually write.

And it only changes when...

Well, when it is narratively appropriate, or when you all have earned it by doing something I don't expect and succeding.

That is very rare.

Why not have a chase around Remanent while we get from one adventure to another... That would be fun.

Damn, now I feel called out.:V

@Magoose Does the Weiss option change canon in regards to her not going Beacon?
[]You Fought Back: You wished to be free of your Father's influence, to be free of so much pain and suffering and his abuse... He was... Not happy about it. And he punished you appropriately for it. This is a bad idea for a couple of reasons,

1) Combat debuff from damaged eye.
2) The scar will be hard to hide, and thus look good on a missing child poster.
3) Worst of all it alerts his Father to Whitley running away, and make it difficult for him to take things useful for surviving on his own. Because it would be best to learn of things when Willow comes to him enraged instead of something that allows him to act quickly.

[]Winter Left: Your sister didn't want to be under anyone's boot. She told father that she did not want to be a part of this family anymore. That he dishonored the Schnee family name with every breath he took. And her gaze at you as she said those words hurt more than any wound, and word, any insult that you had heard. She did not just mean your father. Her words were pointed at you.
I'm not interested in this as Winter will likely be sent after Whitley, and this insures Winter won't be inclined to turn a blind eye if she catches him.
[]Weiss shut herself away: Mirror Mirror on the wall... who's the loneliest of them all? That was what you heard Weiss say listening through the door, as she shattered the mirror with her fist. She saw you looking at her through the door, but you remained silent. And she shut the door on you... forever.
So if this is Weiss goes to Beacon like canon except she has severed any place in her heart for Whitley whereas he still cares for Weiss this would be interesting as they're more likely to interact compared to most of his family.
[]Willow Hit you: It was an accident she told you.
So Willow is targeting anything she associates with Jacques and wants to ruin what she perceives as his?

I can agree with these

And in light of me not wanting us to be half blind but no one going for Weiss being super lonely...

Okay changed my mind somewhat I support both these options and mostly okay with either one winning
