Welcome! I believe all the important stuff about Shino is in this thread, his charsheet in the main OOC thread, or simply his posts in the IC thread. As you decide on how you want to RP Shino, let us know if you're considering any differences from what Zedalb has been aiming for.

If you have the time, the first thing you can write is a few sentences about Shino's waking up routine, and being the first at training field five before the genin-agreed-upon-time of 7:30am. How he's feeling, what he's thinking about, etc.

Shino would have been focused on preparing the research about his sensei, as handed to him by his father, and preparing for the vaguely-worded "hour to summarize and demonstrate all that you know." I believe Zedalb intended for the first part of the demonstration to simply be Shino handing over the team's collected research about their sensei; as you've seen, Shino went around to both of his teammates last night to ask them to research their sensei and then compare notes in the morning.

Edit: Wait, it seems like Zedalb was waiting for something? I guess I should oblige and make a mini-post of Kurenai accepting the documents from Shino?

I honestly like Zedalb's direction with Shino and will endeavor to do him justice.

I've already read through the posts; just wanted to check how much of your list for IC Day 2 was already done from different individuals so I knew precisely where to start once @Zedalb is heading out

Ah, my bad then. I was hoping pebble would be back and have the time for the three of you to write the pre-meeting meeting first. But sure, we can skip to the demonstrations first for Shino's part, since you're heading out.

Kurenai smiles and nods approvingly, knowing that her genin had teamed up to research their sensei. What delightfully proactive genin!

"So what would be in these files, Shino?"

She had been watching and listening to them since they left their homes, having recruited Raido and a few of the others to help out. With them helping to monitor the proceedings, they'll be more attached to her team already by the time she asks them to help with training in the upcoming weeks.

Hello, I am here. Trying to get back into the swing of things... what would be most productive for me to write? My morning and meeting with Shino and Sakura at the practice field? My demonstration? Or...?

It's kinda out of order--I've been skipping past things since I'm not quite sure when Zedalb is available and how much more he wants to take care of.

Optimally, it would be a series of short posts, something like this: a mini scene of Shino arriving at the field first, then Hanabi arrives and chats with him for a post or two, then Sakura arrives, then Kurenai arrives, then the demonstrations happen.

For now, I'd say to just write a short "My morning and meeting with Shino and Sakura at the practice field" as best as you can, for the sake of setting the scene. The demo would be the next important post for you. I'll figure out how to weave everything together in a day or two. One of my deadlines is in three hours. :ninja:

Messing with the team-comp would be bad, but that doesn't exclude Hinata~ :V

Mostly joking around; if writing reaches that way then I don't deny seeing if it works, but I don't intend to purposely start something.
 
@Zedalb Could you pass on any last info/plans to Ψυχή? I responded to your post three days ago; I dunno what you wanted to post next. We'll just do the whole shift over to Ψυχή now.

@Ψυχή @pebbleinthepond @UbeOne I'll be done with most of my busyness in sixteen hours from now, so I'd like to start this on full throttle again at that point. Starting tomorrow, I'll be able to make at least one IC post a day again, so just ping me whenever you need Kurenai to respond.

Here's what's likely going to happen: In sixteen hours, I'll make a post in the IC thread starting right as Kurenai appears on Training Field Five at 8AM. If anyone wants to make posts about their morning and arrival at the training field (or to chat with their teammates), please post directly to the IC thread in the next sixteen hours.

Whoever posts first about arriving on the field, is the first to arrive on the field; arrival will just be by IC post chronological order to keep everything simple. Feel free to cannibalize from what you've already written in this OOC thread. I'll work with whatever is in the IC thread when I make Kurenai's arrival post.

Sounds good? :)

A day ends. A day begins. The sun rises. Konoha wakes up. (Watchful night guards retire to sleep.)

A day like any other for most residents of peaceful Konoha.

But for the three new Academy graduates of Team Five, today is special. Today, they must prove their worthiness for a spot on the team. Through their relentless interrogations of their families and friends, they had each learned that all Academy graduates must undergo a test of their jounin-sensei's choosing, on their first or second day of joining the team. Any who failed would be sent back to the Academy. Their sensei had made no mention of this on the day before.

Thus, a tense mood hangs over Shino Aburame, Sakura Haruno, and Hanabi Hyuuga as they gather at Training Field Five. The three had agreed to arrive half an hour early, at seven thirty, half an hour before the official meeting time.

A stadium-sized sea of red flowers on low gently rolling hills. Near the western edge of Konoha. Encircled by the Konoha forest and a high fence of wood and wires.

According to her parents, it's the 'actual' exam, a jounin-sensei's test to determine whether one is truly ready to become their student. She hopes to be able to prove it.

The flower field is peaceful and picturesque, a perfect place to practice. She notices that a portion of it is an array of tree stumps, as if one could fight on top of them. It must be a challenge to balance oneself on those...

Shino-san and Hanabi-san aren't present yet, so she sits down on the ground and waits.

She remembers the night before, when she asked her parents about her sensei. It turned out that they worked with her at some point. Among other things, they said that she has quite the reputation for being one of the best at genjutsu among her peers, rivaling those of the Uchiha. They told stories of the times wherein Kurenai-sensei went with them on missions.

She wrote down what she learned, which she will share with her teammates later.

As for what she plans to demonstrate later, she's thinking of showing miscellaneous knowledge, the basics, genjutsu, and the Water Release: Water Bullet.

The illusions, she learned from her dad, and the water jutsu, she learned from her mom. She hopes to make them both proud.

I find sleep doesn't come as well as expected. I might have chalked it up to the well-prepared and entertaining party at the Hyūga Clan keeping myself up from high spirits, or simple nerves at Father's revelation of Kurenai's true test, but I've never been one for denial and burying my concerns.

Torune remains as absent from the clan as before [and is testing some of our fellow graduates], while Hanabi's brother Neji's absence at the 'festivities' despite graduating among their class raised multiple concerns in general about the going-ons beneath. I can hear my hives buzzing at my tired worries...
Do you want to hear my bugs as I arrive lost in thought, @UbeOne?

I think so, at least. In any case, I'm still waiting to hear about what I learned from Shibi or if Neji even went back to the Hyūga Clan, but I can edit the thoughts if that's not how it is.
