The Icon of Sin, Gundam Build Diver Re:Rise (and Fighter)/40k AU, Ft Nihilo

We cant make UV lenses-all absorb or reflect it. With forcefield lensing we could replace large mirror setup and save on power as mirrors still absorb a lot.

Well, at least until we crack what the fuck the old management was doing to produce PP planetside. How that got lost is beyond me, but we lose tech all the time, so I guess it tracks. Like how we don't know how to manufacture vacuum tubes anymore.
In all honesty, I'm like 60% sure the guys in charge know, but are keeping it a secret.

So, I saw this, and I have to ask - how are you making the jump to laser lithography? The only way I can see that P-plastic could enable more efficient lithography is if you're using beam rifles or similar as engravers - although I suppose you could try and exploit P-plastic's semi-magic bullshit to have it "emulate" a UV source that just needs electrical input and doesn't need to be opened for cleaning.
Uh... [Metal Laced with PPs, like Bandai plastic] exists. Paper on it was put out half a year ago.

Haven't really looked into it. But long story short, it gives metal weird fucking properties.
Like being a really fucking good conductor. Or being as good as lithium for energy storage, at least in theory.

Wait, are you saying you energy tech guys made *fission* type minovsky reactors but instead of funky gundamu particles they generate fucking PP's?!
don't quote me. But I understood it as 'fission generator, but instead of heat/other byproducts it makes PPs?
Noooot really. Basically it burns an ungoldly amount of PPs to work properly, so it has to be more or less plugged directly into a PP generator not to blow the fuck up.

pfff

Yah, probably

Well.....-1x-1= 1, you know, so he probably cheated by doing double negatives, at times.
Rather worry about where the Avatar sense of tast & needing to eat, comes from.

I worry he might dress up as himself, then have a L-diver PP accident and then be his avatar in real life, you know.
Especially, now that he is playing Warhammer 40k, for a chaos faction.
What next, him playing Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and thus getting a Linker Core installed in his avatar, that in the real world, acts as a PP generator?

Say, Youjo Senki/Saga of Tanya the Evil and Strike Witches, are there worlds for them as well?
Because if he starts to play them as well, then such a L-diver accident can get freaky.
Yeah, start fearing a un-intended invasion from those games, again.
Only this time, they plan to stay.

And be glad he ain't playing as a Asari, since they are Mono-gendered and even a single one, can thus be seen as a alien invasion of our world & species, with enough time.

Hehe. Sliders go brrr.

Given what I now know of GBNO, I'm probably singlehandedly responsible for at least a hundred new sliders and options in the advanced chargen menu.

Nonzero chance of imaginary numbers being involved, too.

Oh, it isn't a need, not really. Much like the gunpla, avatars are always fully supplied, so to say. It's just that I ended up simulating biology enough to have a different palate and cravings. Which, hey, I'm not complaining about.

There's also the pigment side of things. Tulips are fantastic eating, as it turns out! It's been a mix of flowers, fruits and shellfish. Although I should go swimming and see if anything else twinges, given how much sealife I shoved into Gala. Plus, hey, I need to see how well I breathe water. I didn't add gills, since they were kinda niche and easy to fake with some resin, but that doesn't mean I didn't get funky with the lungs while I was at it. The work on them was tagged... ah, right, 249648. That should zip you to the right parts.

(If the obsession with perfection didn't tell you already I was born to be a slaaneshi, the way I tagged everything will)

I worry he might dress up as himself, then have a L-diver PP accident and then be his avatar in real life, you know.
Lmao. "Sadly", as of the Tokyo Tournament incident, we don't have the sort of huge p-projectors needed for shit to get weird in realspace. So I think we're safe from that anime plot, at least.

More seriously, if p-plastic doesn't physically change based on what happens to the scan in GBNO, even when exposed to a p-projector, I doubt I'm going to wake up with tits and tentacles.

Have my tentative army list, in very broad strokes.

Troops: Daemonettes, Slaangor (shittier Ogryn), Arges Horde (basically IG platoons, rarely deployed)
Elites: Bestigor (basically Bullgryn with ripper guns, power mauls and slab shields), Arcadian Silvers (rare), Fiends of Slaanesh, Chaos Spawn (common)
Heavy Support: Obliterators (rare), Forgefiends (very rare), Chariots of Slaanesh, Mutalith (rare)
Fast Attack: Seekers of Slaanesh, Hate-Angels (count as Furies with Daemons of Slaanesh rule), Heldrakes (very rare), Death Wheels (maybe. If they can be downscaled to small tank instead of titan size)
Characters: Epitomes (Mirror of Absorption), Enrapturesses (Heartstring Lyre), Alluresses/Heart Seekers (with 20pt daemonic rewards), Bray Shamans, Great Silverbacks (with two chaos boons)

Tag system goes
Common: Plentiful despite it's nominal category
Rare: Requires Abelian or Guernica to do fucked up experiments and get something successful
Very Rare: Requires trade

Arcadian Silvers are my take on the skin wolves. Still waiting on Cheese and a few others to crawl out of their holes and tell me if they'd be valid, but a TT and lore nerd has told me they look fine.

Arcadian Silvers:
  • A subset of the Arges Horde who have been enticed one way or another by Guernica to submit themselves to her fleshcrafting and soul-surgery experiments.
  • They are, in essence, Possessed Marines writ small. Cultists bonded to slaaneshi muses who become daemonic wolf-men at will, more fluidic warpstuff than flesh. Their 'fur' is actually a morass of thick shadows. They retain a singular eye which they can make emerge anywhere in their shifting bodies, igniting into a silver floodlight at will. This, together with the almost liquid light they seem to bleed, is what gives them their name.
  • No armour or weapons other than their transformed bodies, but they have the daemons of slaanesh and shrouded special rules on top of the following attributes of a norscan skinwolf: Regen, anti-large, frenzy, strider/move through cover, weakness to fire. They lack the resistance to non-magical damage and Hide (Forest).
  • Very small in number, few being willing to put themselves under such a knife and even fewer coming out warriors up to Galatea's and Guernica's standards. Therefore, they count as elites rather than troops, crunch wise.
  • Unit size is six models and for extra cost can have one of them replaced by a Great Silverback, who gets two chaos boons of choice other than Princehood or Multiple. They are named so for the swirling silver marks of favour on their backs.

Death Wheels (maybe. If they can be downscaled to small tank instead of titan size)
► ModernPygmalion (Galatea My Beloved)
Mainly want these as line and wall breachers. The former especially since then the chariots can come in to say hi.

But the only data I can find on them is for a titan scale daemon engine or the piddly piece of shit the Skaven run.

So, good news: Cheese and I had a DtD session yesterday.

Bad news: No way in hell we're getting a video ready for today. Editing and rendering takes ages, apparently.

So if you lot want, we can do a bit of AMA. Sarcophagus, my army, some of my plans for both, whatever. Some stuff I'll keep to my chest for surprise's sake and other is a big fat "???" rn, but hey.

OOC: So, chapter is canceled this week because my life has been a bit of a mess. Long story short, I'm quitting my job on the 9th of April. Which wasn't exactly the plan. Let's just say that a lot of shouting was involved.

So, good news is that once that's done I'll be able to dedicate more time to having a life outside work. Chapters aren't going to increase in quantity, I don't think, but me and Nihilo will be able to work on a whole two projects at once! So WoV should pick back up some time after I'm out of there. I might also try and write a proper book, and toss it on Amazon or something. Not sure yet.

Ervoan (Lord of a 1000 Cheeeeeese)
Yeah sorry about not being around. Editing and shit is hard, and I'm not the most active person on forums anyhow...

And no, the wife using her super internet to facetime me and the kids every other day didn't play that much of a role.

You guys'll be glad to know the quadwings is sloooowly being worked on. At this stage I have some sketches and some more data points that I set Gal's way to help build the damn thing.

(too lazy to do quotes)
@ModernPygmalion can't say I know much about the chaos spawns? The few times I fought one in real time, it was kind of a pain to duel, especially since it sorta just... mutated new limbs as I cut them? Beyond that, it was definitely dangerous but not really a threat? It's pretty fast, enough to flatfoot most things, including characters. But it didn't seem to have enough power to do meaningful damage? Lots of attacks, sure, but that 4+ for wounds was... not the best? It is tanky though, if you can't wipe it out, that regen's a pain in the ass.

I'd probably use it for tarpitting a squad of something, or as a distraction since I can see lots of people dump firepower in them to avoid getting tangled in melee with them.

Gr.E.G (Gralkuk E'rippah Golgof)
FInally had enough time away from wrangling all the boys to post here.

First, very good stream @ModernPygmalion. I didn't know those pedestals could be used this way, I'll have to look into it.

@SolidStateStones You and your Skiitari lust. Are you sure you're not also a slaneeshii? Please don't corrupt more people than you already have...

As for the spawns, it depends on the army running them. But from what I've seen, they can be rather annoying point holders, their speed allows them to quickly get into position and steal otherwise easy to control points. And the regeneration helps with getting quite a bit of value out of that move.

So a pain in the ass to distract people with in multiple senses, but not likely to actually do much in the way of killing. Good enough for me!

I thiiiink I can give them Mark of Slaanesh, meaning they'd be even faster and worse, agile. The really funny play would be making them get Daemons of Slaanesh rule so they get even more speed on top goddamn Rending for crits. But I don't think I can fit that in since they're technically still mortal and got no daemons shoved into them.

Ah, well, funky regenerating gribbles to tie up enemies is fine too.

Spawn with Daemons has semi-precedent, but the problem is, Wracks are a Deldar thing.

And with your established character?

You'd call Deldar boring posers with no sense of aesthetic or fun, and then pick a fight.

Deldar out here making themselves into the spiritual equivalent of soggy crackers so they don't get eaten. Not even Nurgle wants them despite their dedication to pain and despair, since they're too fucking poncy to get dirty.

I suppose letting Guernica at some haemonculi notes after murdering them is fair, tho.

But yes, once Galatea knows more about everything, she's going to hit the Deldar with a fat "skill issue".

Weak, sad, pathetic.

Mh... They might work. But I believe that you'd need to do some inventive editing of your army lists for them to be able to be used in a proper game. Custom units *cough*angrymarines*cough* aren't exactly rare but they usually require some technical know-how to insert them.

One of the people at Avernus is quite good at that, but he's been AWOL for a few weeks. Probably due to RL nonsense.

Fair warning though, you'll never be allowed to use them in any official GW tournaments, or events. If me, the founder of Avernus and the man I mentioned give the okay after some playtesting, they'd be useable in our in-house little tourneys. Gork knows we've got some crazy things running around other people's lists.

I am looking at you, @DOOMcaste.

But yes, once Galatea knows more about everything, she's going to hit the Deldar with a fat "skill issue".
Gits can't even provide a proper fight! All they do is run around, plinking at you with painrocks while laughing.

And the moment you get your hands on them, they start begging for mercy and 'not the face!'. Even the other Eldars are willing to stand and take it like real fighters- and they're the ones that can't just clone themselves back to life back home!

Bite me old man.

I like my dentition unmolested, thank you.

Just because they regrow does not mean I enjoy the feeling of getting them bashed in.

ONE FEAR!

Lmao. I thought you wouldn't be GMing for me after this campaign is done?

Hopefully one of the chaos players will be down for it. I got bribes for them!

Otherwise, eh, at this pace by the time we're done with Down the Drain, the game master AI (does that 'un have a name, by the by, like Joel?) should be up to snuff enough to keep things good for me for the most part.

I'm saving the Silvers for a couple campaigns down the line, so not a huge hurry.

Sidenote, I know there are no official hate-angel models, but has any third party or fan bothered designing some and making a BP for them? Otherwise I'll probably have to just kitbash them from furies and daemonettes. But I'd rather they have feathered wings.

Those are all tabletop, yeah? No skin off my nose, then. I'm in this for the roleplay and fulldive gameplay, not to spend two hours hunched over a table rolling five million math rocks.

Even the other Eldars are willing to stand and take it like real fighters-
Shout out to the Daethe Exodites.

God damn madmen sitting that close the tumor filled wound in reality.
It's not like they knew the details of how the Eye of Terror was going to happen. ...but also, they could fuck off to be craftworlders, deldar, or exodites on literally any other exodite planet, and have chosen not to.

We out here, holding the line in Slaanesh's backyard for ten thousand years.

Also, as a reminder, the Eye of Terror is where the Eldar Empire's capital systems were. Daethe's placement was a deliberate snub to the urbanites by sitting so close to them.

@Hastar
Troops: Daemonettes, Slaangor (shittier Ogryn), Arges Horde (basically IG platoons, rarely deployed)
Elites: Bestigor (basically Bullgryn with ripper guns, power mauls and slab shields), Arcadian Silvers (rare), Fiends of Slaanesh, Chaos Spawn (common)
Heavy Support: Obliterators (rare), Forgefiends (very rare), Chariots of Slaanesh, Mutalith (rare)
Fast Attack: Seekers of Slaanesh, Hate-Angels (count as Furies with Daemons of Slaanesh rule), Heldrakes (very rare), Death Wheels (maybe. If they can be downscaled to small tank instead of titan size)
Characters: Epitomes (Mirror of Absorption), Enrapturesses (Heartstring Lyre), Alluresses/Heart Seekers (with 20pt daemonic rewards), Bray Shamans, Great Silverbacks (with two chaos boons)

Any word on this, by the by?

Aside from what's been mentioned about the Silvers and the Chaos Spawn. Also, huh, apparently Chaos Spawn count as Fast Attack instead of Elites, makes sense with how fast they apparently are. Must've misread.

But hey, I think this means more breathing room since I thiiiink point budgets are divided between categories?

Also, still waiting to hear on this:

I'm also pondering Ghorgons, Manticores and Jabberslythe. The first are the most dubious since they are kinda-sorta Khorne aligned I think, on top of me already having the Silvers jotted down for anti-large, but I suppose they could be an option if the Silvers end up completely nonviable for some reason (unlikely, since if needs must I can just run them like regular-ass skin wolves and they'll still do a good job). The other two are just "I'd like some flying monsters, please and thank you", since all I got rn is hate-angels and at most 2-3 heldrakes (likely to be just the one, honestly). Jabber seems kinda Nurgle aligned, but from a quick look it seems to just be ugly as sin and with toxic blood, no godawful reek and trails of wiggling mess to worry about.

@ArchAIngel got any data on these?

And here I figured they just didn't want to travel that far and didn't know that the Eldar Empire's decadence was going to get "tear reality a new asshole" bad.
