The Drums of War: Sequel to Turn of the Century

I'm a Bernie Sanders Supporter. . .

I know it's heresy to say on the internet, but as a moderate-conservative democrat, I really dislike Sanders. I think his economic policy is completely uninformed, and his foreign policy is utterly disastrous for American interests. But aside from my personal feelings, by every single possible metric, Hillary has decisively won the Democratic primary. She significantly leads in pledged delegates. She has the greatest popular vote share of any candidate in the race on either side. She has the broadest base appeal in the Democratic race. She has won more and bigger states. She's won more reliably Democratic states than Sanders. She has the "momentum". And yes, she has the support of most prominent members of the Democratic party. She's certainly not a perfect nominee, by Sanders has absolutely no chance now. And since Hillary's opponent is Trump now, there's no other choice for anybody who actually cares about a single one of Sanders' policy positions, IMO

Sanders is polling ahead of hillary to beat trump. By anywhere from 12 to 15 points depending on the Poll. Hillary is polling much lower 3 to 11 points ahead of Trump and in Rassmussen's Case Trump beats her by 2 points.

As to Sanders Economic Policy, it's been vetted by Several Universities and the Vienna School of Economics.

Let's discuss this in the actual thread on CA before this spirals into a full-blown argument.

In more game related news, I'm going to be delaying the turn end by a day or so because of RL stuff.

Yes this is not the place for a discussion on politics.

Also Cdrone has delayed his part of the Ukraine Warplans until wednesday due to AP exams he's taking, so the Central Powers are good with Delaying a Turn. . .

First of all, every major economist has rated Clinton's plans as far superior to Sanders'. Aside from finding literally nothing mentioning the vienna school of economics and Sanders, Sanders' entire economic argument basically rests on a single professor at UMass Amherst, whose analysis of 5% growth a year has been echoed by nobody else. Aside from nobel-prize winning and the most influential progressive economist Paul Krugman, basically every major liberal economist has endorsed Clinton's plans. Independent and nonpartisan institutions judging public policy and tax proposals have indicated that if Sanders got his way, every american would face extreme tax increases. His wall street speculation tax has been tried in the past, and succeeded only in killing the Swedish stock market, without raising appreciable amounts of revenue. Aside from not having a particularly detailed plan on how he would accomplish his platform in even a perfect world, he has absolutely no plan on how to get his proposals through a congress of democrats that clearly oppose and do not like him, let alone a hostile republican congress. Neither his record nor his platforms indicate any willingness to compromise on any of his positions, something that is required in any elected official, especially a President. General election polls mean little this far out, and even more importantly, it would be an utter travesty of democracy for Sanders to steal the nomination while winning a minority of pledged delegates and votes. Clinton has a very broad based appeal, to women, progressives, moderates, and african american and hispanic minorities, while Sanders' core constituency is white progressives, particularly white male progressives in states that usually vote republican

You would perhaps prefer to have corporate interests run the State? With a serial flip-flopper and liar as their figurehead?

I mean if the corporate interests had a coherent economic policy, extensive experience in government, demonstrable ability to get legislation passed, and a foreign policy very in line with my own, sure.

And what a flip flopper Hillary is. She changed her positions so much that she faced a serious primary challenge from a literal socialist because she wouldn't bring her personal views far enough left for part of the democratic electorate

Yeah I'll have my turn post and plans in by this week, exams are hitting me hard.

Why would disgruntled Germans agree to go all the way to Australia when there are two majority-German states in Europe that would probably take them in with open arms? (and then send them back radicalized to demand the Rhineland be returned to German rule ;))

Exactly.

Dude Denmark is pretty much a Prussian puppet at this point. You don't need someone playing it to do it. If Berlin tells them to jump they will say how high.
Which is a reason why I am not playing as it again. When this game originally ran, I liked to play in Europe. However, since then, I tend to do better with nations in Asia, which is why I tend to pick those.

Ah, I thought you wanted Denmark back since you remarked that you were not placed on the "reserved" list for that nation. I'll remove you from the list.

In other news, I just finished my biggest essay, so I have some time to work--I'll get to some of the war results tomorrow.

@Sidheach, I'll need a warplan for Ukraine relatively soon.

Does anyone know if there's a way to attach a saved image to a post directly, or do I need to upload to an image hosting site?

I used to have an imageshack account a few years ago, but when I logged back into that it says my free trial period has expired. I'd rather avoid the hassle of having to sign up somwhere else if there's a way to upload directly to SV

Imgur is a useful free tool to use. And no account is required
