Also, since you're spending at least a full day with Iron Siaka and I can't reasonably cover all of that in an update, please let me know if you have any questions about the setting and I'll give you her IC answers.

"Why was my family targeted? What were the Cult's goals and plans beyond killing us?"

"Are there any other types of Exalted than us and Dragonblooded?"

Anyway, give a lump of ambrosia to a god that knows what it's doing and they can make damn near anything you can imagine. Cooked meat, fine wine, flawless jewels, a set of magic armour… or, you know, enough orichalcum to build yourself a fifty foot golden penis that shoots lava and moonbeams whenever someone says your name.
If you could get Venus in on it, you got it made.

Hmm...

-Journeys - The Captain

Leadership, both to gain it(rather difficult normally as a Man In Black), to aid it and to destroy it.
Definite yes with our theme.

-Serenity - The Pillar

Family and those like family.
We've sort of lost it all, and so this sits in a weird place where its wanted AND painful. Given the choice to keep our distance I think we're slightly against this

-Battles - The Quiver

Archery, strategy, intelligence. Hadn't seen a lot of this at play so far, but it goes well with a Leadership build.

-Battles - The Gauntlet

Hard choices, sacrificing what you have for what you want.
I think we're going to be not that comfortable with this.

-Battles - The Spear

Courage, leadership, tactics. We've seen this at play, and it goes well with Leadership build.

-Battles - The Shield

Resilience and fury. Barbaric power.

-Battle - The Banner

Reputation and how it can be shaped. Flashy to be sure. Glorious.

-Secrets - The Treasure Trove

Super trainer. This is probably the type of stuff you use to train up rebels so they are ready to take over the state apparatus if they win. Not just a scholar's work, despite the stereotypes.
This is the drillmaster.

-Endings - The Corpse

Mostly dealings with the Underworld. Hadn't featured yet, but picking the Corpse says you want to.
ALSO good for torture I think.

Random funny aside, the 2E Rising Smoke had Summon Adorjan in there. I've no idea why.

My pick is someone who'd raise up an army, train it to competency, set it upon a target, then vanish into legend.

"Why was my family targeted? What were the Cult's goals and plans beyond killing us?"

"Goals? Not much, in the grand scheme of things. Basically they just wanted to worship their demon patron and get rewarded for it. Which meant a whole bunch of blood sacrifice and slave trading, because it's a demon, but they weren't planning on taking over the country or anything'll. Far as we could tell, anyway."

"As for why your family... alright, so, when your average illegal organization gets uncovered they tend to go to ground and scatter in hopes of getting the gang back together further down the line, but in this case their patron was a bit more of a... short-term thinker, I guess? It decided it was better to burn what assets yet remained in pursuit of chaos and disorder that it might be able to exploit later on. Knocking over the ruling line is a pretty good way to accomplish that."

"Are there any other types of Exalted than us and Dragonblooded?"

"Oof, right to the big questions, I guess. Alright, short answer - yes, but they're dicks. Longer answer... yes, the Lunars for one, but they're all mad or monstrous in some fashion and gave up on protecting Creation a long, long time ago."

"Do people also forget about these other Exalted? Or is that just us?"

"How do you know? Maybe you've just forgotten all kinds of important stuff, too."

We know about Dragon-Blooded Exalts. We know about Solars and Lunars, even if it's only now that we were told they are Exalts (which has major implications, depending on what the state religion of Taira has to say about them, given the dominant view in Creation is that they are people possessed by demonic entities). Getimian Exalts were mentioned, but we wouldn't know about them yet. I can only assume we are aware that Exigents exist, but we may or may not be aware they are Exalts (it is not very clear what most of Creation thinks of them. Certainly, the Immaculate Order denies it).

In other words, a better question would be "so who else are Exalts, and are there any secret types like us?"

I'd like to ask about our dream. IC, we wouldn't know what a past-life memory is, nor that an Exaltation can be passed through incarnations (Dragon-Blooded Exaltations do not, as it is the only Exaltation type that carries through bloodlines, with each DB Exalt Exalting with their own Exaltation, and we would only be familiar with that), but we have here a dream that may have been prophetic and two peers who deal with destiny. They might have a clue what that was about, if it was a vision from Mars or some omen.

"Why did Mars choose me? Why not my father, or one of my siblings? Someone who would have been in a place to save the rest of my family?"
