Dinner and martial performances are mandatory to me, we need to do something for Guan Zhi, thats why I put the subvote to stay close to him in the performances. I want to go to the concerts for Tao Yangyuan, and we really should spend more time with him, he is cool... Zhe Chao might be there, but we can just ignore them.

About the phrase, I chose that one because of how Hua Yin showed to be. He is calm, he can forgive, and he will do his best regardless of what happens to him. Hua Yin will become great one day, and whatever happens to him will be dealt with.

That deer scene is now my favourite scene. If anything is Vendetta worthy for bureaucrats, this is probably it. If the family don't do anything Hua Yin's siblings are also targets.

Dang. Now what actions to take next week. Exploration and looking through the archives for a technique? If we don't get a good one at the festival?

Dinner, martial, lantern and concert seems like good picks.

For the lantern it seems like it'd give Hua Yin a nudge towards realizing his Dao. While he is a stubborn dude that persevere no matter the hardship, his reaction to the deer struck me. He likes knowledge and wants the world to be magical, so I'm thinking something related to that would be cool.

I am supporting ruination because it is an eye for an eye. Hua Yin broken hands for Lin Mao's ruined life. And we can't just not do something horrible here, we need our family to have face.

For now, I want to have the dinner, go to the martial option and concerts for Tao.

I am all for it, but let's not rush... We already had a good outing in the woods (with third wheelers but whatever :V), asking her again in the festival will be seen as "too forceful" or something.

It was TN 2. Basically what I'm using as a TN scale is 1 = Easy, 2 = Relatively Easy , 3 = Normal, 4 = A Little More Difficult Than Usual, 5 = A Challenge. This of course is subject to change.

This seems like the right balance, to me. He deliberately ruined Hua Yin's chances of ever getting into the bureaucracy by breaking his hands. That Hua Yin Awakened and had his hands healed is a coincidence that he could not have predicted. So having his own career destroyed and throwing him into the streets to make his way with what he has is the equal punishment to the action committed.

Yeah, sorry - I realized I was mistaken about what it meant, for some reason I got it in my head that TN was the threshold for what counted as a success, not the number of successes needed. I guess I'm just too used quests with systems where the degree of difficulty is arbitrated through altering the threshold of success, rather than tallying successes.

So for the Festival, I I think a nice calming time focusing on bonds with our brothers is key.

Hua Yin still hates Lin Mao for the life that has been stolen from him. For the lost chance to truly live up to his asperations. But, thank the Fates, he Awoke, so there is no need for his family to be hurt in a war of Vendetta - and there would be some collateral damage to the family, even if they would win. Let Lin Mao suffer as he wanted Hua Yin to suffer, and that shall be vengeance enough.

I'm not interested in vendetta or ruination here. I would rather use the misfortune that changed Hua Yin's trajectory in life to result in compensation for his family rather than having the family spend resources on punishing the guilty.

Vendetta usually only ends when the other family is ruined. It is not taken up lightly.

Never deal an enemy a small wound, This is xinxia-land meaning that frankly you either ignore it or you go full hog with no in between, ruination is exactly the wrong thing to do.

I think this shows that he is moving on and cares about, sure the guy ruined the MC's life but at this point I think the MC would care more about moving on and trying to make sure his family isn't negatively affected by what could happen, because a Vendetta could risk the family and ruination would be temporary and earn an enemy because the guy who did it was the MC's rival and can likely just pull himself together after a while. It's best to go either get our pound of flesh or to completely ruin them no in between.
