Damn I legit was tearing up at the berry scene, was hoping Berry Uncle would drop some wisdom for our boy, but a nice meal and the berries are more than enough. Not sure if the whole trip was worth the glass thingy we bought, has it even been used yet?

Also I love the rumours section since it gives context and info on the on-goings of the sect. It's a shame in other quests when you can't pick every option and you just never find out what happens even if you voted for it but it still lost. At least this way we get a glimpse at other parts of the sect and can perhaps check it out down the line.

Oh sweet!

[X] Plan: Sprinting to Spirit
-[X] Attend Core Disciple Chu Quiang's martial arts class.
--[X] Ask Chu Quiang about the rules of the first year tournament. What's allowed and what isn't? Are weapons allowed? What about spirit weapons like Jianshu? Talismans? Armor? Other aides?
-[X] Attend Core Disciple Mao Yujing's cultivation study group. It will be held in the classroom.
-[X] Cultivate at the Font of the Supplicant's Tears. Hua Yin would go to cultivate at the Font of the Supplicant's Tears. Unless there's a write-in otherwise, he will use the strongest cultivation aide that he can.
--[X] No boons.
---[X] Cultivate with Jianshu. Even if it doesn't appear to have any practical benefit, he seems to enjoy it.
-[X] Cultivate at the Kiss of Tribulation. He might see his friends there, and maybe even get a chance to speak to Tianlang. Unless there's a write-in otherwise, he will use the strongest cultivation aide he has available.
--[X] Also no boons.
---[X] Cultivate with Jianshu here too.

That didn't work out the way we hoped. No free techs for the workers so far.

I wasn't part of that vote but my guess also was that there hasn't been a quest (or story anywhere that I've seen) that delves into a cultivator in the Archives of a sect. So many potential secrets hidden away in the shelves and special access to techniques, but so far it's only given random knowledge gains to skills Hua Yin doesn't use (alchemy and crafting so far iirc?).

Perhaps with more investment it could start to yield some more interesting results, or maybe we could switch to Medicine Hall to put that talent to use.

Mhm, honestly why do we have to work a sect job? we've already contributed to the sect enough with the herbs we stole. Rather then grinding mook level job's. All other work place option's beside assignment hall for odd job's provide only enough point's that if you work their once a week you'll get by in the sect.
Yep. 8 points a month in upkeep. The Sect makes it so that as long as you contribute every week, you'll receive enough to live off of. The rest of the time is yours for cultivation. And you can always pick up odd jobs that pay points.
Would rather grind and get powerful, explore, and do more socials rather then grind the mook job once a week.

[X] Plan: Give Peace a Chance
-[x] Attend Core Disciple Chu Quiang's martial arts class.

-[x] Cultivate at the Kiss of Tribulation. He might see his friends there, and maybe even get a chance to speak to Tianlang.
--[x] Don't use Cultivation Aids
-[x] Make additional preparations for the duel at the end of Week 18. Write-in.
--[x] Investigate the start and escalation of the enmity between Ling Daiyu and Song Chyou. Attempt to make both contestants see each other's perspective.

Someone is going to lose this contest. I want the winner to atleast understand the losers perspective and ask for Services that are not too harsh on the loser. Ling Daiyu and Song Chyou should atleast understand how things got to this point. If they both voluntarily want to de-escalate, that would be a bonus.

I definitely want to attend duties this week, given that we didn't last week. Getting a reputation for skipping work is probably not a good thing. Also, this bit:
Hua Yin met Inner Disciple Fan Liu, the creator of the Clear-Eyed Glass, in an unused room in the Archives. When Hua Yin had entered after a week of skipping duties, Brother Peng had shot Hua Yin a disapproving glance. However, the senior disciple hadn't said anything.

I suspect it could cause us issues if we just don't even bother showing up for multiple weeks in a row.

I'm fine with going next week, and then every other week, but going every week just sucks up way too many actions, especially that we don't need to now since we have enough point to pay upkeep. There's so many better things we could be doing.

This may sound bad, but I am glad Daiyu refused to reduce the services to one. Really, Chyou just jumped the gun to a duel, used novel's logic (alright, we are in a xianxia, so maybe that's fair), and Daiyu never tried to stop this madness thanks to pride. They probably didn't even talked to each other.

But when my frustration about this situation goes down, I see how bad things can go and my desire to choke Daiyu grows. At least Chyou was just plain stupid and would ask for not outrageous things, but Daiyu? Yep, I hope Chyou wins for her own good.

Suffice to say, I disagree -- the main benefit is that it's IC to be dutiful and diligent, and thus to actually do your job.

[X] Plan: Alternate Studies
-[X] Attend duties in the Archives.
-[X] Study Core Disciple Chang Minhua's annotated medical texts. These books will inevitably give Hua Yin an advantage when preparing to treat the human body, both mortal and cultivator.
-[X] Cultivate at the Font of the Supplicant's Tears. Hua Yin would go to cultivate at the Font of the Supplicant's Tears. Unless there's a write-in otherwise, he will use the strongest cultivation aide that he can.

Do all the basics and let us focus on being a good arbiter, treating the role with respect.

Some cultivation, and back to the archives, as we need to keep in contact there to build up to more interesting work.

[X] Plan: Sprinting to Spirit

Was hoping we'd have class in the font since it's been a while. Oh well, I think classes will probably end sometime between week 20 to 25 so it's worth just finishing it out in any case.

It does sort of seem like jobs are to a degree tailored to the lowest common denominator. Doing stuff like getting stronger and then using that strength to explore is probably a lot more lucrative and attention getting. So long as you can actually do that, a lot of people probably can't so providing a slow and steady route makes sense.
