The Century of Lights - 1700 NG

If we're doing dependencies, I actually wouldn't mind playing as New France. Otherwise I'll come on as the Safavids, though I might switch to somewhere in Europe if things open up

Looking at the map, the, uh, rather phallic French territory near modern day Chicago didn't actually exist. There were a few missions in the general area, but like most of French America, it's mostly trappers and natives

Yeah. The French did establish some forts around there, but Fort Detroit was established in 1701, and that came first.

Also just learned that the Duchy of Courland had a colony in Africa. No bloody way.

Technically they had colony in Gambia, until it was sold to the Dutch. The same comes with Tobago.

Go ahead. :)

@Karolus Rex Due to certain unforeseen commitments, I must drop out of this game. Sorry, everyone. Should the new English player desire it, I will send my correspondences to them.

@Alex Costa
To let you know, the only Irish regiment in Spain at this time was the Tercio Irlanda. However, it was disbanded in 1698, so it would be up to you to reform it. There are plenty of Irish exiles, including nobles which have formed ties with the Spanish nobility, in Spain for you to be able to raise several regiments.

@Ankh
From what I read, towards the end of the 17th century, the Army of Milan had several thousand Irish soldiers. Not sure if these would still be around, or how many individual units there were at the start of the war. Just thought to let you know, considering all of Spain's Italian territories support your side.

@Karolus Rex May I ask if I could get this Dutch East India Compagny and send orders for this turn?

Sure, you will start playing them when turn 2 starts.

If @DracoLazarus is cool with it then New France, if not then the Safavids.

Since there is some confusion, are the plans you want tonight strictly military or our entire order for the turn?

Sent in any plans you think are needed for your nation this turn.

Thanks, good to know.
