I'm sure they would if not for the practice of Venetian Merchant ships being armed to the teeth in case of impressment.

I have to say, you guys really need to do some research. Nothing I've done has been particularly difficult to do and all has been approved by the mod. . .

Yes, but with the costs of avoiding Barbary pirates, East African pirates, Indian pirates, tropical storms, tropical diseases, privateers doing the Pirate Round and a constant stream of harbour fees given your own lack of outposts you've got to wonder whether it'll actually get you any money in the end. There is a reason the Portuguese, Dutch, French and English built outposts and this was a major one of them.

So are Dutch merchantmen, and Indian treasure ships, and Spanish Galleons but pirates tried their luck against all of those.

The payment must indeed be high if the pirates truly ignore such wealthy prizes.

Please do some research, the Venetian Merchant Fleet was essentially an arm of the Venetian Navy.

The Pirates would need a large fleet to try such a thing. Even then they'd likely attack softer targets. Why would they attack a well armed convoy when they could go after softer targets?

It's a historical fact that Venice, along with basically everyone else that sailed ships through the Mediterranean, was plagued by the Barbary Pirates.
 
Although ignoring the logistical problems the fact is that no-one else responded, while the VOC, the UK, Portugal or any other colonial power could all do it cheaper, easier and more reliably since they didn't respond it fell to Venice.

My pardon for lack of patience and rudeness, I simply worried if I will post them in time before deadline. I need to start a bit of negotiations before sending this turn order, and I am not sure if I will pass before Saturday.

So guys I may be out of laptop for 1-2 week so I don't think I will be able to keep modding CoL just with my phone.


If anyone is willing to take over as GMod while my laptop is getting fixed PM me.
 
No longer have a laptop so can't mod the game and couldn't find anyone to take over, so game is over folks. It was good while it lasted and I may do another version of it when I have my laptop back.

Dammit, I'ld like to be able to pick this up and act as full mod but I don't have anything like the neccesary free time with school.

If you are in a desperate need of a GM I could take over that role at least temporarily (or permanently if that is required).
