Eh… look on the bright side.
Hell will swing wide open when Arasaka dies and we fuck over his plans for immortality.
There was a SI story where the main character got rich starting a hydroponics company. Things aren't quite as bad as they'll become but real fresh vegetables are going to worth more than gold, especially in Night City. It won't be our main source of income but being the supplier of good nutritious food is going to earn us some good will with the community.
It feels fitting that we earn our living with swords and plowshares.

How do we pick our electives in the academy? Because things have canonically been going downhill since the 90's. And there was a major food crash like a decade ago. It stands within reason that Senji will understand than what people need, along with guns, is food.
