It does if a sector's worth of people believe it does, because the Warp runs on clap your hands if you believe logic

Also what do you care how I flavor my psyker powers? Sid said Chaos is supposed to be inactive at game start in the planning thread so the warp doesn't even work the way it does in canon

Having full on warp powers without nearly as much risk as regular warp powers just seems a bit much to me, If Sid's ok with it then its alright with me, but personally i don't think it fits in the setting.

Chaos isn't actively fucking with the Galaxy, it shouldn't be disregarded though.

Doom fucking with the Warp carries with it serious risks that will be handled by the relevant Regional Mod. As it is though, I'm just considering Doom as a more powerful than average Psyker who applies the usual mysticism to his work to make himself seem like more than just a Psyker. You know, like how Space Wolves Librarians pretend to talk to wolf ghosts to cover up for the fact that they're just Librarians with extra fur.

Its literally just flavor for what are basically just psyker powers, mostly because I don't like most of the canon list of powers. So I'm taking inspiration from WHFB.
 
On second though I am already committed to numerous games and I don't think I can do the Khan justice so I am withdrawing.

You know, what you could do is say it's a mix of Sorcery and Faith, which is technically a different power from warp based abilities. For instance, the Ork Waaaaauuugh! field is a faith based power, as would m42 Corax's powerset. My take is that "faith" is the power of the soul, which is different from the warp (hence why the Chaos gods have to wait for you to die or be corrupted to get your soul).

The warp is souls. There is no real functional distinction between ork waagh magic, psychic powers and other faith powers. It's just different sides of the same coin.
