You know I get that their bitching about lack of defences in the maroon sea but they could lend a hand. Hades Nexus had to have held a garrison force before we linked up with it what's more can they not see we stopped the citadel from getting knocked. A little bit of help would be nice. I'm tempted to go just with investment from the volus because we're already doing a lot from them and I ain't seen no military aid (outside of them helping in wrath of the swarm)so how much is that favor worth.

Have they actually sent a fleet our way to give us a hand?
Keep in mind they GIFTED us the cluster exactly on the condition we'd defend it.

their complains are legitimate, though we should fix it now anyways

3rd Raiding Fleet (Commanding Officer Admiral Mordin Sentra [NEAR RETIREMENT]; flagship VWS Shiera Namal [Durrahe Korun Class Battlecruiser]). Based out of Dakka, Nubian Expanse; awaiting new assignments. At 100% strength.
Okay, I really want to get one good use out of Mordin before he Retires, so I'm in favor of putting off terminus integration for a raid initiative. We can't neglect maroon sea, but it would be lame to earn a hero from the deep raid and never use them.
Rachni: 35. What's this...?
Definitely need to get a battle fleet to Maroon sea.

I don't think we'll be able to put off the terminus integration next turn? I thought it was a still locked in action from this turn, and we'll have to decide which kind of fleet we give them.

We can, since 2 of our raiding fleets freed up, we can send Mordin on a raid and Mira to handle the rest of the Integration. Should resolve those issues and we need to settle integration into the Terminus Alliance, we've got to make use of their fleets to hold the line and it should actually start letting us unify the bloody thing. Allies of convenience are great but if we're all busy butting heads we'll not get anywhere and fracture once the Rachni are no longer a threat.

Problem is we still have to get a permanent presence in the maroon sea set up, and that takes an action. And with the integration still taking an action, we'll not have one left for Raiding.

edit: word from discord says it'll be a new action, so we'd have the opportunity to choose not to take the integration action if we are willing to deal with the diplomatic/political issues that come with waiting.

The action you'll get next turn to finish this, and choose how you want to engage, will be an auto-pass; you've reached the point where Sheera has pretty much made her pitch and it's just up to a yes or a no from you. Otherwise the prep work is done and you can move on once you've made a choice. But enough time has been lost that you need to invest another option in finishing this. -61,000 credits.
The action has become an auto pass follow up action. Given Mordin Sentra's impending Retirement, I'm in favor of putting it off for a single turn to use the third and second fleets to carry out a strong raiding push. It would be a shame for Mordin to have become a hero unit in the deep raid only to never take the fight to Rachni again before his retirement(damn nearly failed occupation patrols. He could have been kicking Rachni ass these last two years.)

Agreed, one turn of heavy raiding it'll put the Rachni on the back foot and then we can work on integration, also it should earn us some browny points and it'll let our fleets have maybe a year or two of peace to work things out and get some upgrades in.

The question is do we hit Styx Theta or Shadow Sea in force or split each fleet up and try to give us some breathing room? Also, I think we leave Hades Gamma alone for now they'll probably have at least left that only lightly guarded after we raided it to hell and back. Though I doubt that'll last much longer.

@Randino Treviani @jjffjhjf could you both give me one post explaining your current understanding of what the **[ ][MAROON] In Force** option entails?
Randino Treviani
We deploy raiding fleets in an encirclement formation to maroon sea - shadow sea relay to attack any breaching Rachni from all directions should they come through it.
With the 2nd battle fleet in reserve in Omega Sentry performing patrol duties.

jjffjhjf
We deploy all 3 raiding fleets to the maroon sea, as well as taking the 2nd battlefleet off of patrol duties around sentry omega and put it in the maroon sea as well. Effectively taking everythign not protecting attican beta and sending it to the maroon sea, at least temporarily.
Poptartprodigy
> [ ][MAROON] In force. All three raiding fleets are now coming off of patrol duties, and the 2nd Battle Fleet is held in Sentry Omega for situations that require a reserve, just such as this one. Pick up everything you can and get it into the Sea while you figure out a more permanent solution. If the Rachni have decided they've smelled weakness, they'll be terminally disappointed.
While this option does not explicitly say that you send the 2nd Battle Fleet, it also does not explicitly say that you send every raiding fleet. What it does is mention both and say that you send everything you can. This is perhaps vaguely phrased. I'll edit it. It means that you scramble **all** of the 2nd Battle Fleet, 1st Raiding Fleet, 2nd Raiding Fleet, and 3rd Raiding Fleet to Maroon Sea. Not as a lasting garrison, but as an immediate reaction to the Rachni realizing the cluster is undefended, while your admiralty decides how to handle standard patrols in the future.
Discord exchange I've been asked to transfer to the thread.

Ahh. Seems I'm a minute late.

Oh man, your version looks so much nicer than mine. I'm just getting rid of mine, it looked nasty anyways.

Ahh. Seems I'm a minute late.
For further explanation: the bit from the Status page:
Naval Security Board (CL-class defense platforms deployed to strategic locations, along logistics networks, and at population centers, at strength to serve as tripwire forces in the event of hostile incursions). On station at deployment zones. Obligations overfulfilled and reserves equipped fully.
has been verified that once the admiralty gets the "standard patrols" and garrisoning set up, defense platforms will be deployed to the Maroon Sea as part of this.

And with that, seems a fine time to open the vote.

We have one proposed write-in:

[ ][EXTINCTION] Bombard almost everything besides locations of particular value. While some locations the Rachni occupy hold value in mundane resources and infrastructure, they're nothing we can't replicate ourselves or get elsewhere with little issue. However a few places hold unique or extremely valuable resources that are absolutely worth the effort of taking by force such as Precursor ruins and significant Eezo deposits.

I have also edited this option for clarity:

[ ][MAROON] In force. All three raiding fleets are now coming off of patrol duties, and the 2nd Battle Fleet is held in Sentry Omega for situations that require a reserve, just such as this one. Send all of them to Maroon Sea while you figure out a more permanent solution. If the Rachni have decided they've smelled weakness, they'll be terminally disappointed.

Thus in all we have:

[ ][EXTINCTION] No extinction-level bombardments. One cannot un-bombard a planet. Some rocks will not be worth the retaking even once you have an army up to the task, but you don't know which ones those are without that army. Besides, the Occupation Fleet already massively reduces the costs of the occupation without needing to relieve it further. The policy stands.
[ ][EXTINCTION] Only bombard worthless rocks. You want to preserve anything you know to contain valuable resources or facilities, but there's no harm in scratching the worthless asteroids that the Rachni occupy purely to be a pain in the ass off the list.
[ ][EXTINCTION] Bombard everything the Army doesn't veto. Every Rachni garrison to your back is another foothold from which the Rachni can swiftly reestablish themselves should they retake or even contest a cluster. Have the Army draw up a shortlist of targets it wants maintained to test reforms on, but otherwise, tell the Fleet that it's a free-fire zone.
[ ][EXTINCTION] Extinction. There will be other worlds. There will be other targets. You don't need these. Destroy them all. This option is very out of character for Mira. She has no ethical objection to it — again, she views them all as military targets who never negotiate or surrender — but the waste is unacceptable to her.
[ ][MAROON] Conventionally. Deploy the 2nd Battle Fleet to Maroon Sea. Have one of your raiding fleets pick up patrol duties in Sentry Omega. That will provide a powerful deterrent to any attempts at moving in, and if the rachni try anyway, you should be able to hold long enough to bring in reinforcements.
[ ][MAROON] Lightly. Second one of the raiding fleets. They won't be able to strongly hold the system, but they'll be there to satisfy your critics. If the Rachni do come, though, the fleet will be forced to conduct a fighting retreat hoping to buy time for reinforcements.
[ ][MAROON] Don't. The Rachni abandoned that system, unfought. You don't believe they're coming back now, and them sniffing around just makes you suspicious. You're holding your forces back.
[ ][FAVOR] Ask for something on behalf of the Terminus Alliance, which they will pick, in exchange for one vote of your choice passed without a veto in the Council.
[ ][FAVOR] Investment. The finances of Irune are without equal. You want that money moving to prop up enterprises within your space, on generous terms.
[ ][FAVOR] Tech transfers. They'll run the risk of offending the Council with this, so you won't get much or the really good shit, but the Volus really owe you one, so they'll float you some less flashy stuff. Perhaps something...dual-use...for the discerning customer?
[ ][FAVOR] Write-in.

Hmm, well if it doesn't lock out our fleets from doing something next turn, maybe a write-in with a focus on us sending the 2nd battle fleet and 2 of our raiding fleets into the Maroon Sea with 1 of the raiding fleets in reserve, it'll be enough of a force to give the Rachni a bloody nose should they try something and a fleet in reserve will allow us to reinforce our territory if they try something.

Well at least someone has faith that we know what the fuck we're doing. Not gonna lie, the Terminus reaction to our methodology of dealing with Maroon Sea is very aggravating. What? Has nobody from our side actually just explained our reasoning?

Explained that the Rachni abandoned the system for a reason and that them trying to move a fleet through MS to attack Attican Beta or, as they are so terribly concerned with, Caleston Rift is one of the most tactically inept moves the Rachni could make?

So, apparently, anything more than worthless rocks runs risk of destroying precursor facilities with neat tech/info as well as typical resources. Even clever write ins run this risk as we aren't going to always be able to tell from orbit what does and doesn't have these. Best just keep things simple and avoid destroying anything important.
Terminus Alliance: 68. The Alliance remains a fan of their newest signatory, but is unhappy with your handling of the Maroon Sea.
We've kind of pissed off the terminus alliance. Even Remnant took a hit. I feel the appropriate thing to do is deploy a battle fleet to defend the Relay, and throw the volus favor to the terminus alliance, so they'll be distracted from criticizing us with squabbling over how and where they use the Volus favor.

Long-term, we can leverage this to get the Terminus support we need for even more military ship building expansion, or to define Terminus Alliance Ardak Yakshi policy, but thats a concern for later. For now, we need get a fleet to Maroon Sea, and throw a shiny for terminus to fight over.

Waiting on the Ardak Yakshi vote. Don't have one myself and want to check out what's available before I commit.
