"Shut up! Bloody vikings. "
"I don't like words, do you have any pictures? "

(* Not the Spam sketch)

Seriously, more lizardy words would be lovely.

I had a similar moment not long ago.

Plugging away at a SI fic, and my MC is mid 20's. Hit with the realization that I am very not. Have I actually been working on this that long? Holyshit I have!
Yeah... I think I published my first fanfic about 1995, on RAAC. And, I've been using 'Dreamer' for more than 20yrs, now, more recently prefixed by 'Ace' (as in the playing card), because on too many websites I found 'Dreamer' was already in use. Probably should blow the dust off some of my (original) stories from the 1990s or 2000s and see if they could do with more bits adding...

In terms of Main Characters, one was a bit more than 100yrs, a second more than 2000, and a third had travelled and been messed with by Time so much they'd seriously lost track of their age. What that might say about me, I don't know...

...

Hmm. More than seven years of (dodgy) lizards. It'll be... interesting to see what future entirely reasonable and socially expected activities they'll engage in. And how good they are at hiding the bottle opener from that O'Make chap.

Why is Missy studying that book "Modern and Ancient Architecture", and sniggering quietly to herself?
:)

(Yes, I do recall who is in on Taylor's plans to convince people 'Rhyl' isn't just a nice place to visit in Wales... (I do find the similarity in pronunciation to R'lyeh amusing...))

I've also, in those 7 years, written something on the order of 3.7 million words of fanficery, or rather more than an average of half a million words per year. Admittedly that's biased quite a lot to the earlier times when I was able to do about 5k words per day for over 18 months solid, but then I was going through a time in my life when I had almost nothing else to do except emit words :)

Unfortunately real life picked up quite a bit since then, which has slowed my output somewhat. But never lose hope! It's entirely possible I'll end up with no work at all and nothing else to do again! :)

Still, half a million words plus per year seems reasonable to me, even if it's down on my best ;)

I'll see what I can manage in 2023...

MPPI, I simply do not understand how you do it. I had trouble managing one or two stories at the same time, and yet you have several going. The mystery boggles the mind.

As to which one I'd rather see you update first, you're going to be surprised. I'd actually like to see more of that alternate you did between Distance Learning Taylor and Tali. She's one of my favorite characters out of the ME universe; besides, that's the one story that has the most untapped potential for interesting shenanigans without actually being ABOUT interesting shenanigans.

Oh yeah; more lizard wordz too. I really didn't think that needed to be said, but, you know, it had to be said.

We need to completely disconnect you from reality.

Some would claim this is already a thing... ;)

I'm actually refreshing my mind on exactly that right now, because I had a minor hankering to update it. But then I want to update everything so we'll see how that goes...

Ah yes, the bane of going back to a story after leaving it alone for a while... having to reread to refresh your memory.

Just we back and reread the last full chapter; I kinda want to see the PRT reaction to Linda dropping a mech on some random burglars.

How much to hire you? I sware if I ever win the lottery, I'll offer you a million dollars to take leave from your job, and write as long as your muse lets you. You, and a couple other authors here.

LOL,
Just inspire mp3 via omake(s)
He will then have to decide from the many paths o'make has inspired

it has happened before

Many of the omakes are listed under sidestory
Some have worked into canon-fannon

Inspire mp3 if you can

Makes this stuff even more entertaining
(Though would not mind if all the stories were updated daily, LOL) again!! 🥳

I wish my stuff was good enough to inspire MP-PI to write more Wordz™.

Make him chuckle a couple of times, sure. It's happened. But to actually inspire Wordz™? Not likely.

It's possible you need a twisted enough mind to do so. Of course, whether having such a mind is healthy is another matter! :)

Also, read more science fiction. Including pre-1990s stuff. You know it makes sense. :)

Ah, but that's 90% of my collection! Dragonriders of Pern dates from 1969, Stasheff's Warlock series dates from 1968. I've got some Heinlein and Clarke (but not much). My collection is about a quarter sci-fi, quarter fantasy (Tolkein, Peirs Anthony, CS Lewis, and a scattering of others), quarter Trade/Technical (CG, OS, OpenGL, Programming(multiple languages), Woodworking, Electrical Code, Metallurgy, etc.), and a quarter gaming (tabletop/video).

Waaaaay too much anime and looney tunes though. I blame that for my (alleged) sense of humor.

replace the hard copy?

Never.

The smell and feel of ink and paper, preferably with leather covers...

no mere electronic device can compare.

*looks around at her books.* plus, I'm fairly certain that replacing all of these with legal copies would cost more than my house did at this point.

I have the same problem... 6500 books or thereabouts takes up rather a lot of wall space.

In fact, I currently need some 100 linear meters of bookshelves, which is becoming a minor issue :)
