SV's 10x10: Celebrating one hundred great threads across a decade

This was a great event. Thanks a lot y'all's work. I had a lot of fun the last few days and have put a whole bunch of threads on my future reading list.
Thanks for this event, even if I didn't take part it's been very helpful to find stuff to read.
Thanks for the event! I have so many new things to start reading now.
Well done everyone, this was fun. Looks like I have a lot of reading left to do and some recommendations to look into!

Thank you for these comments. As Content Promoters, this sort of thing really makes our day - ultimately our whole mission statement is helping people to discover the all the weird and wonderful things SV has to offer.

This was a lovely thread, and it's a nice archive to have of countless threads from the last decade

For future years I would suggest some sort of transparency for how prizes work? It was demoralizing looking at the new hint and seeing it already answered by someone who had already won, and having to guess whether it would even count to just post the same thread a second time.

So the reason for this is that I had always intended for us to err a bit on the side of participation awards for anyone who clearly seemed to have been giving it a go. We just wanted to leave this a bit vague, to avoid people deliberately gaming the system . Not that I particularly think anyone would, but you have to design rules for stuff like this based on assumption that something may go wrong. Sorry, it's a bit clunky but it seemed like the best compromise.

BTW, there aren't any links for 2014

Oh snap, I still need to fix that lmao. Will try and remember to do that tonight; if not then it will be when I collate all the posts for the individual years together into a single post when I move this over to the archive.

ahhhh, yeah that's entirely reasonable. thank you for the transparency!

Oh. Wow, this was a nice surprise to come in to this morning.

Thank you guys, for calling out Devourer of Worlds - I already recognize several of these other works, but I'll have to poke through the rest to see if any are my type of fiction.

Your clue also gave me a solid chuckle.

Bravo to SV👏👏👏. I didn't participate in the actual event, but now that some time has freed up in my schedule I find myself enjoying Noblesse Oblige and looking forward to a few more titles which have caught my eye. Keep up the good work, and have a nice day. 😉

As if that were not enough incentive, everyone who finds a thread will also receive one month's silver subscription, starting from May 1st, when the event ends. (Give or take a day or two to get everyone tabulated.)
What does this actually mean ? I couldn't find a page explaining what subscription does.
