Super Hollow Knight: Hornet Sequel 'Silksong' Announced

Holy shit that's insane. Awesome, but absolutely insane. Thanks for sharing that with us.

...And now an odd thought has occurred to me. You can Dream Nail some of the bosses and get a response, right? HK thinks '...Father?' because of the King's Brand on the PC, for example. Do you think the more self aware characters like Grimm would still have Dream Nail lore to drop in GaG?

Grimm and Hornet are both aware that they are in the dream. Grimm straight up says that it's an honour to answer Godseekers call, while Hornet is wondering whether you are haunting her dreams, or she yours.

I got Hollow Knight for my birthday recently and it's so charming, total eye candy. I didn't know where to get notches so I've gone through like 5, 6 areas wondering when/where I get more slots... then I finally looked it up and realised I missed Salubra in the Crossroads :/

Beat the Pantheon of the Knight.

AHHHHHHHH THE PURE VESSEL IS SO GODDAMN COOL, NEW FAVOURITE BOSS SORRY NIGHTMARE KING GRIMM NOT SORRY. You're still the most interesting bug in the world though. Also, does the cutscene with the all the Vessels and Siblings after the Pantheon of the Knight play if you beat the Pantheon a second time?

Last Pantheon time boiz.

real Hollow Knight starts here

Done radiant pure vassal, i feel complete. (Pantheon of Hallownest can fuck itself)

So I just found out the game will be available for the PS4 on the 25th! I'll be getting it, controller throwing and all. And with property taxes coming up, it'll be the last nice thing I get for the next few months...

Slowly working through everything on Ascended/Radiant before going for the Pantheon of Hallownest. Surprisingly, a lot of more dangerous bosses like the Tyrant or Failed Champion have fallen easier on Ascended than easier ones like the Mato and Oro Brothers. I wonder why?

Well, for one thing, chances are that you've had more practice with the dream bosses, especially if you fought them without a lot of powerups in the base game. After beating those two with a level 2 nail I could basically perfect them already; the brothers, on the other hand, is a pretty simple fight where it's normally not a big deal if you get clipped a few times. You're not forced to train good habits into yourself to beat them the first time, so it stands to reason you'll be relatively less disciplined in their re-fights.

And now downloading Hollow Knight for the PS4. Here's to hoping it ports well, I'm looking forward to exploring Hallownest for myself!

Are there anything important things I should and shouldn't do? I don't know if there's multiple endings for this game or things you miss if you only play once, is it that sort of game? Current favourite boss is the dung guy btw, absolute unit of a charmer ahead, made me smile from how ridiculous he is.

There are multiple endings. The only things I think you can miss is one collectible that gives some lore and money, a chat with Hornet in Deepnest and the Worst(?) Ending, but second worst(?) ending is basically the same.

The game very rarely locks you out of content, but it does happen on a few occasions. If you want to see as much as possible, don't leave Zote to die the first time you see him and don't banish Grimm.

I saved Zote the first time, I forgot how many times I've seen him since but now he's stuck in Deepnest and I'm not sure how to get to him. Also, how do I get past those black barriers? I think the areas past those are the only ones I have left to explore.

To save Zote go 'right'.

The black barriers is a very late game thing. Don't worry about em'.

@Hykal94 Thanks for that nudge, I cut him free.

Exploring is fun but when I actually need to get from A to B in this game, I dunno, I find it a little tedious? I'm relying on strategically dream gating but it could be more convenient like DS homeward bones or the darksign at the cost of using currency. Speaking of which, I bought everything from Sly and Iselda fairly early on and I find myself walking around with thousands of Geo with nothing to purchase; the vendors who still have things to buy either aren't that great (Fragile Charms guy) or I can't buy from them yet. Am I going to need to save up for something or is Geo not that important?

Yeah, that's actually a problem I have with the game. In Souls, the souls themselves are currency for levelling up and buying items. In HK, it's just for buying items. You might find yourself then with Geo in the tens of thousands late game, with nothing to spend it on. Well that's not true, there's a late game sink in regards to the Phantom Troupe DLC where they DO cost tens of thousand. So spend your money on that. But you need a lot. Like, A LOT.

You haven't been there yet, but 'surrendering yourself to the king/Hollownest' is a lie. You actually only need 5000.

aren't that great (Fragile Charms guy)

Buy all of them. ALL of them. Then wear them around a certain character.

The fragile charms are all quite good, especially Fragile Strength. If you use them and die in a dream they also don't break, since you haven't really died.

Don't worry about the multiple endings, once you kill the final boss you don't start a new game plus. Instead, you get teleported before the fight and are free to muck around a little and go out and unlock the true ending.

As for advice, I find sometimes it is better to not heal on a boss fight especially fights where the boss is extremely relentless. Just use soul for spells and blast them quickly to mulch .

Just got this game and have already felt the frustration of losing thousands of geo (goddamnit fungal wastes flamethrower bug...). I'm currently in the Soul Sanctum and am struggling to deal with the flying teleporting dudes - any tips?

I know that this advice might seem basic, but try to stay midrange until they shoot their spell and then go to town on them.

I like to keep a wall or floor directly opposite from them so that their shots hit said surface and can't continue to home in after dodging them once.

I'm working out the first battle with Hornet on my Switch...and I loathe the area beneath the Greenpath with the jellyfish that have homing explosives on death...
