Summoner in the Elemental Nations (Naruto Celestial Menagerie Quest)

[X] I can't guarantee anything, other than trying my best to help your people. I saw enough suffering.
[X] Maybe it's worth spending a bit more time with Tsunami and Tazuna. Talk with the people they know. Tazuna is someone he still needs to talk with as well. If he is in the middle of gathering money for hiring Konoha shinobi, he may help out in some way. Also assisting in building the bridge/securing its safety of it may be a worthy goal.
[X] Creature Roll: Second Roll

you pick Creature Roll (600), there is no second roll in case there are some points left.
Oh sure, pardon then.
[X] Creature Roll: Second Roll
[X] Of course, I will. And there is no need to beg, I would do it anyway. I can't see people suffer anymore. (Potential Hero Route).

[X] Visiting the bar, and asking people around may be worth doing, to gather more information, and help someone in some ways.

The arachnid warrior is ridiculously though as it takes an entire magazine of ammo to bring one down, heck there are actually very few ways a ninja can straight up kill one in a direct fight, much less a bunch of civilians

View: https://youtu.be/-vVA8jokNT0?t=318

like unless the ninja places multiple explosive tags, a powerful elemental release or a kekkei genkai they will lose

heck what is zabuza going to do, they can smell people like dogs, are though enough to be uncuttable, the warrior arachnid can easily snap the executioner blade in half too

and haku is even worst, he trow tiny senbon at people, that will do NOTHING to a warrior bug that can take hypervelocity ammo

I think there are many but... Like, what type of bullets they using and how shinobi attacks work. Like, Kubikiribocho is huge - so is it very heavy? Than how people can use it without overturning thier pretty much light bodies? This all chakra thing telling physics go away so many times - Tsunade castle destroying punches for example. She uses her chakra in such way, that she can release tremendous amounts of energy, while compensating the action of Newton's third law.

It's a confusing story.

I watched that movie around 2000's as a kid. It's still one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies, but oh boy, you do underestimate shinobi.

I suggest watching this fight. A reminder, this is a fight what I would call around high chuunin-special jonin, as Naruto and Sasuke here get absurd, but they are still technically 'genin' rank-wise.

Especially go to 13:20 minute on that video and look at how HARD Naruto smashed Sasuke at this cliff. Do you know how Sasuke takes it? He continues a fight afterward pretty much undisturbed. I don't know where some people think bullets would impress shinobi, but outside of Genin-Chuunin? I don't see it. Shinobi have absurd both speed, and durability feats. Power feats can get insane as well.

Bullets? Meh, hardly impressive for many, MANY shinobi.

When I say good shinobi are literal forces of nature, I do mean it. At Kage+ it only gets more ridiculous.

like unless the ninja places multiple explosive tags, a powerful elemental release or a kekkei genkai they will lose

No no no. There are also scenes of cannon fodder shinobi being smashed through walls with just strong kicks/punches (like Gai does it in Konoha Invasion against some Oto Nin) and they either don't die (which is impressive itself) or Gai can hit physically hit so hard, that environment crumbles all around him.

Or just rewatch Rock Lee vs Gaara.

I genuinely love Starship Troopers movie, and I'm very sentimental towards it, but Warrior Bug isn't above Genin+ level. If I feel generous, it's low Chuunin at max, and it's mostly because it is a resilient, and durable beast, which I mentioned before.

heck what is zabuza going to do, they can smell people like dogs, are though enough to be uncuttable, the warrior arachnid can easily snap the executioner blade in half too

Throws his massive blade so hard that it gets stuck in the middle of the tree. I think if I were to guess that distance was about 20-30 meters in the series. He absolutely has the raw physical strength to match what Warrior Bug can do.

Speed? He moves so fast that he blurs.

Or he may blast it away with something like Water Dragon Bullet. Look at the size of those dragons. One of those is his. He gathers so much water there, that he floods the forest all around them, so he may push the bug to the bottom of the ocean around them for example. Or just blast it so far away that it won't be coming back quickly anytime soon. In the movie, they don't move that fast.

No, trust me, high-level shinobi are scary fuckers. And Zabuza compared to big tiers like Pein, Deidara, Itachi, Orochimaru, etc? He's pretty much cannon fodder. So yeah.

I think there are many but... Like, what type of bullets they using and how shinobi attacks work. Like, Kubikiribocho is huge - so is it very heavy?

It's a massive slab of steel. It's THICK. So no, it's not light, although official numbers don't exist.

We do not really know if it steel. Also, it use blood in some way to repair damage - it is not iron from blood for sure. It's impossible to get so much iron from human blood - one person may have something around 5 grams of iron. So I think it is more like sacrifice of blood, maybe a catalyst for using natural energy to restore the blade or the material is completely drawn from another dimension or something else...

Also, remember that Naruto and Sasuke are not average shinobi. One is vessel for Nine Tails and have Uzumaki-clan blood in him; other is from the main branch of one of the founding clans of Konoha boosted by Cursed Seal. Their entire class is the heirs of the clans and very outstanding people. I think most shinobi are not that strong in direct confrontation. Just remember how many people in the background were killed quickly and easily, how none of them showed something incredibly strong.

Question of perspective, because it is cooler to look at strongest and brightes, at great ones. If it was about military chronicles of some ordinary genin/chunin and his acquaintances - this would be different story.

P.S. Also about firearm development... Hard thing in shinobi world - does not pay off and does not solve problems. In our world history it was perfect solutions for knights and was cheaper and faster than relying on professional archers/crossbowmen, if I remember right. However, here it can be used maximum for between feudal conflicts - until one side is not pay a shinobi to solve the problems. Also, chakra users themself do not allow to develop weapons that may it possible for some peasant (after a couple of weeks of training) to pose a threat to them. Artillery is a bitch - shinobi fight at close, maximum at medium distances.

In short, the rules of the world, politics and warfare are completely different.

It's made out of some metal. True, we don't know what metal, but it's one of the forged in Kirigakure blades. It's canon.

I can bring more examples, like Jirobou vs Chouji. Jirobou is just one arc character, considered THE WEAKEST of the Sound Four. And anyone who knows Naruto will call him at best Special Jonin level.

Look at what Jirobou lifts here and how BIG Chouji here is.

Or this

I could keep going and going. Many shinobi we see in the series have pretty damn impressive feats, and they are nowhere near top tiers. True, many of them are exceptional, but I posted Zabuza's example because he is one of the earlier 'big bad villains' that later on would be crushed like a bug, and he is still ABSURDLY POWERFUL by any sane standards.

I still stand that Warrior Bug is pretty good at most Chuunin+ (which Celestial Menagerie presents reasonably well IMO), but he isn't competing with many, MANY named shinobi. And many absurd feats are also part of genin ranks as well, so yeah.

And in a fight of Jirobou vs Zabuza? I give it flat out to Zabuza, the guy who could keep up with Kakashi, and I don't see Kakashi losing to Jirobou, that lost to Chouji.

The point is that tanking a series from a futuristic machinegun is impressive for example from Warrior Bug by OUR standard, but the issue is that with durability feats that many shinobi have 'bullets' don't impress at all as a comparison.

Want another absurd feat? From a young version of a character? Sure.

Here we go. Kakashi cuts friggin lightning. Reaction time and speed to be able to do it are absolutely mindboggling. And remember, this is a teenager version of him. And I would say this Kakashi vs Zabuza, I would say is a draw at the absolute lowest lowball on Zabuza's part, with possibly Zabuza being the more likely winner.

I don't disagree that the warrior bugs aren't jonin level, but I do think they are at least chunin, and specifically a very poor matchup against Zabuza and Haku

Zabuza's sword depends on blood to regenerate, something the warrior bugs don't have as their ichor is green, the warriors have also been shown to eat through steel beams made with 23rd century technology

as for the executioners blade being stuck through a tree, remember so are most bullets incapable of going through an entire tree, this makes the case for their armor being able to survive at least a few hits very probable, Zabuza would absolutely batter them like a baseball but probably can't jut slice through the Warrior

Haku is an even worst matchup, as he relies on of pain, fear, confusion and precision attacks to weak points

precisely none of which apply to a biological organism of war, that does not feel fear or pain, has no similarities to human anatomy and is definitely not getting pierce with Senbon

Haku and zabuza are poor matchups against the bug specifically, yes they would be faster, but they have very few ways to defeat the bug that don't involve luring it to a trap, they can't do much to directly kill the warrior outright

I would like to remind you that jirobou is a specialist in hand-to-hand combat and that choji was immediately promoted to chunin after defeating him

It's made out of some metal. True, we don't know what metal, but it's one of the forged in Kirigakure blades. It's canon.

but we do see it being cut and snapped several times in the series

I feel, like Haku would be intelligent enough to figure out alternatives, or he directs Zabuza to start snapping limbs.

I feel, like Haku would be intelligent enough to figure out alternatives, or he directs Zabuza to start snapping limbs.

possibly, but then we have to think of new and original moves beyond what they display

Haku could probably freeze the warrior, but it can survive in the vacuum of space

there is the Certain-Kill Ice Spears that appeared in the anime and one videogame and might work since their brain is i between their legs

Zabuza might be able to trap it in mud, but it's surprisingly good with difficult terrain and with machine theme it doesn't need air, and they literary are a subterranean species

Players Action Vote.

1. Maybe it's worth spending a bit more time with Tsunami and Tazuna. Talk with the people they know. Tazuna is someone he still needs to talk with as well. If he is in the middle of gathering money for hiring Konoha shinobi, he may help out in some way. Also assisting in building the bridge/securing its safety of it may be a worthy goal. -> 7
1. Those pirates on the North-East. There is something off about them. It's time to visit them.-> 2
2. Visiting the bar, and asking people around may be worth doing, to gather more information, and help someone in some ways.-> 1

Two rolls for Creature in one turn. Landslide win, so here we go.

The morality vote is kind of close to the original, but the option that won is slightly more hesitant which is fine. I would say the difference here (as both are heroic anyway) is that the winner is still more 'grounded' with the winner not activating 'shounen determination' mode, let's call it. It's not some sort of mechanic, but more like a flavor in how I present MC. Anyway, heroic is the go.

And Action will be more slice of life type of deal, with important talks in them. Depending on the new creature(s), I may introduce some alternate voting options next turn. You will become known to other villagers, which will cause some butterflies and people's reactions.

Ok, Creature Roll. Let's see what we get...

Roll: D50=49 WI/MoL/TOH, D57=32 Chameleon Drake (300)

Roll: D50=48 Ratchet & Clank, D45=15 Craterpede (100)

Banked Points: 200

Well, I will need to do some research, especially about the first creature. I would say a mix of good, and meh luck. Chameleon from the Wiki page sounds like a big lizard with VERY good camouflage. The size makes him not viable for straight-up assassinations in smaller buildings, but it can still do it in the open or in something like a magazine/warehouse/barracks with doors big enough to let it enter. This guy will become a very dangerous creature once you unlock the ability to change sizes. But I don't know about the series this comes from at all, so yeah, I will need to check.

Craterpede is nothing special, although it is durable from what I see. I wonder how I will interpret the whole 'can be attacked from behind only' thing, but I would say it's a game mechanic. I guess for your party it will be like a worse Warrior Bug.

Anyway, here we go. If you have anything to share about those creatures information-wise, I would appreciate it ;). Cheers

Talk to @zagan he knows the most about Mother Of Learning.

Never played All done myself. Had the game but I never got the prior game and I am and even more back then, a stickler for reading\playing things in order. Kinda regretting that now.
Found a vid though. I suggest going to YouTube to watch it though. I couldn't extend the clip to the rest of the video. Just got it started at when the first Craterpede shows up and the second instance after.

- YouTube

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
The segments are physically separated. With the center if each being blue and glowing. Each larger than a person and doesn't seem to move faster than walking speed. Like the wiki said, electric impulses. I imagine those would electrocute any that touched them. The segments jump a little when hit but take several shots from futuristic guns so fairly tough. So long as you mix other Creatures in the fight it should be quite scary. On it's own it's definitely annoying to have to run around.
I suggest using it as a Damage Sponge.
As for the head I'd say the energy from the segments keep the head alive. Either regrowing or regenerating the head. That face definitely looks like it's taken the beating.
Let's say the section at the front will just regrow the head even if you destroy the head and the section behind it in one shot?
Definitely requires a Jonin power or plenty of explosive tags to blow up and the segmented sections means that blowing up just ONE part means it ain't dead yet. The only real down side is the average Civilian can out run it by fast walking.
I'd probably have made it 150 or 200 for it's durability.

Chapter 5: Talk with Tazuna, Plan of Action Against Gato, Money Issues.
I can't guarantee anything, other than trying my best to help your people. I saw enough suffering.

With those final words, Andy left Tsunami and went to sleep. Before he does so, he thinks about the whole conversation. And those final words are honest on his part - he can try his best. Part of him thinks that those words lack some sort of conviction behind them, that they aren't confident enough. But he also shouldn't lie to himself, and when he noticed Tsunami's determined, understanding look she realized that he is also worried about those circumstances.

Because he is. Especially with that unknown shinobi.

The next day Andy opens up his eyes, noticing the sun rays outside the window. He also hears people talking, and what sounds like sounds of water, most likely for cleaning dishes. When he enters the main room, what catches his eye is still groggy looking, but at least awake Tazuna, Inari, and Tsunami, who hears him walking, and drop the dishes, softly bend on her waist in the greeting.

"Good morning, Andou-san."

"Good morning Tsunami-san. You could wake me up, I could help with preparations."

"It's alright. You clearly looked tired, so I made sure no one would wake you up." Tsunami gently smiles back at him, and the smile is returned. Tazuna mostly observes without a word, but some sort of wariness is there. They most likely talked about that 'new stranger' that showed up in Wave and promised to help. Understandable reaction really, because partially it does sound too good. Inari looks both depressed, and angry. Taking into account on happened to his father… also not surprising. "Also I would like to introduce you to my son Inari-kun and my father, Tazuna."

"Nice to meet you." He greets both of them. "I'm looking forward to…"

"Why did you show up?" Inari suddenly states. When Andy wants to answer, Inari continues, with clear anger in his voice. "You made a mistake. You will simply die, you should have backed off when you had a chance." Andy isn't surprised by this outburst really. In the end, Inari after his father's death pretty much embraces the fatalistic outlook on his life. In the end, he is a traumatized child. Even if part of Andy wonders if it was still a wise decision to actually promise to help Wave. "Anyway, I'm not hungry anymore. I'm going out."

"Inari! Apologize!" When Tsunami shouts after her son, clearly not happy with Inari's words, she quickly turns to Andy. "I'm sorry for his behavior, Andou-san. It won't happen again."

"It's alright Tsunami-san." That small traitorous part of him does acknowledge those words. Because what is he doing is just risky. It's not a game, but a real incoming danger. "After what happened to Kaiza-san, I can understand it. In the end, Inari is just a child."

"And I'm Tazuna, the best bridge builder you will ever hear of." He chugs the sake from the bottle to the breakfast of all things, ignoring the glare of his daughter. Yeah, this guy is a raging alcoholic. At least not an aggressive one, so there's that. Andy almost wants to snort at this view. Once in a while, he does like to drink himself, but compared to his younger years, he drinks far, far less. And part of him doesn't want to touch alcohol now, because being drunk may literally make him pay for it with his life. "Also you don't look much. Yeah, I guess you are somewhat tall, but you aren't that muscled, and you also don't look like the type to even know how to fight. Yeah, handy monsters and all, but like you, they have no experience with those kinds of dangers. Can you even throw a punch?"

"Dad!"

He isn't wrong really. Outside of well, practicing Olympic wrestling and a bit of boxing in the past, he has no serious fighting experience outside of some school brawls. And none of those prepares for what will most likely become a bloodbath. People will die, and it may include lots of innocent people.

"Yeah, I don't." Andy simply states. "Outside of some brawls, and some basic martial art training, I don't, but… well, I have an ability that should help. With what I have access to now, I should be able to do it. In the end, there may be no one else outside of me who can do it. It's just… I can't simply leave this messed up situation alone."

Tazuna with some skepticism observes him, but in the end, he nods. "At least you have some conviction, and backbone behind that forgettable mug." Andy almost had to facepalm to those words. Yeah, he isn't good-looking, but come on, this is just rude. And completely in character "But I will trust you."

"Thank… you?" Andy asks while Tsunami scolds Tazuna in return, even if part of him wants to snark back.

"Well, no problem. Saying some words isn't hard. And while my plan is to hire some shinobi, and I may still do it, you have a specific advantage they don't."

"What kind of advantage?" Andy curiously asks. Yeah, his creatures are versatile, but he does know very well that he is the weak link here. With time he will be a powerhouse, but at this point, he is far from it.

"You're a freebie. And well, I could always spend this money somewhere else. So yeah, it may be a lucky break for me in fact." Andy both sweatdrops and scowls at those words. This old geezer is a really rude bastard. Tsunami in return slaps him on the arm, clearly annoyed by his words. "It's true! Unless you want to pay me. In this case, not gonna." And another slap follows.

"I… don't do it for money." Andy isn't the type to take advantage of people that barely struggle to eat. In fact, he feels bad about eating the food of those people, when he may hunt for food at this point on his own. One of the things he is planning to do is to help with fishing and catching anything hiding in the forests. It's one of the sensible plans, as from what he saw, villagers desperately need nutrition as a priority.

"Please, dad. It's a serious talk."

"Yes, yes. But I have a point. Can you really do it?" Tazuna's look turns serious, and Andy nods. Not very confidently, but he does.

"With creatures, I have right now, I can deal with what I saw. The main issue I saw with my binoculars is a shinobi I've noticed near Gato's mansion." When they both tense at those words, Andy adds. "You didn't know, did you?"

"No, we didn't." Tsunami with a clear worry on her face answers. "This does complicate things."

"It's the first time when Gato hires a shinobi?" Andy asks because, in the end, it's kind of an important piece of information. If he hired someone else, it may mean Zabuza and Haku. And for those, he is NOT prepared.

"Yes, this is the first time, I'm confident about it. I don't have the money yet, around 80% to hire a shinobi for a guard duty mission. If needed, may loan more. But we can take a loan on the missing price, with our noble status you know about. The issue is… we don't know what happens in our capital, Tokudamachi.

Spring/Sunlight Town? Pretty simply name. So money is the problem, but it's not an insurmountable problem. Ironically Tazuna missing money may mean, that he may set up a more reasonable agreement with Konoha, that he will pay for their services in installments, instead of lying, and risking the abandonment in the middle of it. Because oh boy, if it wasn't for Kakashi's… irresponsible behavior and Team 7 insisting on it, it would happen.

"And in the Land of Fire, it may be impossible, because Land of Fire doesn't acknowledge your nobility, and once they learn in how poor condition Wave is, they won't loan this money to you, because they will simply believe you can't pay it off."

"Well, thankfully you aren't stupid." Thanks, Tazuna. Your snarky tone of voice is so encouraging. "But yeah, this is how it would end most likely."

"What can you tell me about the locals? How many of you are around here?"

"Around 300 left. We had around 1000 people, but most of them managed to escape or… died." Tazuna clenches his fists at this, clearly angry, but manages to keep his temper in check. "Honestly, you are really either lucky or smart enough to not ask the locals. Especially with your foreign clothes. Most likely they would simply assume you are one of Gato's 'new hires'." Andy nods at this, glad that he didn't go for it. His basic idea would be to act as a foreign shinobi if he was forced to do it in some way. Because realistically, Andy doesn't feel charismatic, or he simply isn't good-looking enough to instantly gain trust with just his presence. He remembers from his world, that your looks do matter, with some bitterness. "I guess some of them would talk with you anyway, possibly out of spite. Or trying to set up a situation that you kill their tormentors while dying on your own." Tazuna bluntly states, and Andy sighs at hearing this.

"And what about Gato's men?"

"Asking if I know anything more than my daughter said, I don't. No, I do. Rumbling Pirates are already out, sailing at the sea. It happened around 10 minutes before you woke up. One of my boys heard of them saying 'that Gato told us to talk with Gataro'."

It's good information to know. It means that Gato's is weakened with them just missing for who knows how long. But part of him wonders if it isn't in fact a missed opportunity. But for some reason, that name sounds… familiar? Why though? And why does it make him worried? Andy curses his spotty memory of anime because this sounds like some sort of anime deal. From Shippuden, and he remembers classic fillers pretty well. This… isn't encouraging.

Although with pirates around, and some new guy that may show up, Andy wonders if he isn't the reason why it happened. Did he really manage to enter unnoticed? Andy believes in this, but in the end, he can't be completely certain. And others may also have means, like their own binoculars to detect him. But if this is the case, why he isn't confronted about it?

Are they wary of him, and his creatures in this case? Do they still observe, and gather information?

"So what would you suggest?" Andy asks, and Tazuna says.

"If you believe you can do it, I may whisper some words to some of my boys, and villagers. They will know you are 'one of ours'. But the issue with this is that it may get out anyway to Gato."

"Or I can." Tsunami simply states. "We woke up 2 hours before you, now that it is 8 AM. We had enough time to ask around, and none of the villagers mentioned you. So they don't know about you."

"Anonymity is a BIG advantage," Tazuna says while taking a chug from his bottle again. While it happens, Andy's stomach is kind of loud at this point, which he bashfully apologizes for, and starts to eat, what looks like a basic ramen soup, and sushi. He isn't big on oriental cuisine, but he was never a picky eater. Which in this case helps. "If you can do it silently, I may simply warn people to hide in the Kuro Forest and lie about Gato doing something 'big', so at least no one can end up hurt. Although in this case there is an issue with… the brothel and some forced workers I can't help. Or if you want to do it loud and flashy, if your monsters are strong enough." When Andy almost wants to complain about not having anyone good at stealth, The Celestial Menagerie almost answers at that.

Roll. D50=49 WI/MoL/TOH D57=32 Chameleon Drake(300)

Roll: D50=48 Ratchet & Clank, D45=15 Craterpede(100)

Andy freezes for a while, as one of those creatures does have a very good stealth ability. In this case, trying to do it stealthily is possible. Craterpede from what little he knows is kind of a tank, with some electricity biological adaptation, and being tanky. Not bad, but also nothing he really needed. But again, one more 'bodyguard' may always make a difference.

"Are you alright?" Tsunami asks, and Andy nods.

"I'm sorry, I think I can have something that can do it silently. But… it's big. Like 3.5 meters long, but can somewhat camouflage with terrain.."

When they both raise eyebrows at that, Andy shrugs. "In theory, if Gato shows up in the open… it may be possible? It's still risky though." Andy finished, and both Tsunami and Tazuna nod.

"We may also still look for help," Andy adds.

"We could in theory go to our capital, and see what's going on in the rest of Land of Waves. I'm pessimistic about it, but it's an option. If necessary, stealing some valuables may be possible, if the city is also occupied by Gato's men."

"Dad…"

"I know, but we may not have a choice." Tazuna sighs, not happy with stealing from other Wave citizens, but it may become necessary.

"Original shinobi plan?" Tsunami says.

"May still work. And I'm not sure if Konoha accepts installments."

"If needed, I may offer my… unique services." Andy nods, and they both look at him, Tazuna with a calculating look, and Tsunami with a worry. "Or I may try to get some bounties and get money this way. But I need to know where I may find bounty stations."

"It's an idea, but finding targets may take time." Tazuna takes yet another gulp of sake. "I want to say there is no hurry, but what that shinobi and Rumbling Pirates being on some mission, we may not have in fact lots of time. Gato may in the end decide to stop me from finishing the bridge."

"I doubt he will." Andy confidently says, and Tazuna raises an eyebrow.

"Why? My bridge is the best way to finish Gato's monopoly over potential sea trading with the land."

"If he really wanted to stop you, he would most likely blow up a bridge at this point. Why let you finish it in the first place, right?" Tazuna's eyes widen. "He wants that bridge as much as you want to. It's simply an additional way to get the trade going."

"I'm the owner, I have papers for it!" Tazuna almost shouts at this.

"And he doesn't care. Oh, he can't blatantly place sentries, controlling what is yours. As in theory you could either go to Daimyo of the Waves or set up some political agreement with The Land of Fire instead for some concessions if they help, which would make his life complicated." Andy takes a sip of the delicious green tea, for which he compliments Tsunami, which in return she blushes at. "But in the end, he doesn't need to. Officially that is. If some of his people roam around, he may simply state, that some bandits roam around, and he is 'working on fixing the issue'. So they are 'guards' while acting like bandits, that they are. See where I go with this?" Tazuna growls, sighs, and in the end, nods at this line of logic.

"Fuck! It's true. So I'm working on something, he wants to do anyway." Tazuna's depressed look is obvious. "In other words, we try to fix it quickly and try to avoid as much collateral as possible. If you aren't confident, say so, because I don't want other villagers to end up hurt or dead because of any potential fuck up." Andy slightly tenses at that, as there are many ways this can go wrong. "Or we continue. I stay around, and you, Tsunami, and Inari sneak out from the village. If needed, I will act like a depressed drunk being worried about my kidnapped family." Andy almost wants to snark back about him admitting to being a drunkard, and doing nothing to stop it, but it's not the time.

"Dad… I would prefer it if you would go with us."

"I can't, or the bastard will get suspicious. So if this happens, you go to Land of Fire, Konoha, or find some way to get money, without them being involved. I don't care. I think I should be able to at least keep things calm, and busy here. On Bounty Stations - I know Erisa is a retired bounty hunter, that ended up in the Land of Waves, so if this is what you want, I will set this up so you can talk with her, and she will tell you where you may find them. For a while at least. In other words - it's up to you."

Andy wonders which option is the best way to go about it. Or maybe there is an alternative?

[] Try to visit Rumbling Pirates? (Unavailable)
[] Set up 'Assassination' plan with Chameleon Drake being the main monster to use. Most likely using your other creatures as a distraction near Gato's mansion.
[] Go loud. Cause mayhem. Attack bandits directly near the brothel/bar, to help the people that need it the most now. If you eliminate most of his forces, it should make things far easier. A pretty risky deal, but the pay-off may be huge.
[] Go loud. Cause mayhem. Attack bandits directly, but destroy/loot barracks first. You still need to check the place.
[] Take Tsunami and Inari with you. Talk with Erisa, who sounds like a retired female bounty hunter. Go for a bounty hunting approach, while set up
[] Take Tsunami and Inari with you. Go directly to Tokudamachi. This may be the fastest way to get money. Also learning what happens in the rest of the Land of Waves may be invaluable. But may also bring attention you don't want to deal with.
[] Try to convince them all to stay in. Go solo, but talk with Erisa. Bounty Hunting Approach.
[] Try to convince them all to stay in. Go directly to Tokudamachi.
[] Take Tsunami and Inari with you. Try to go to the capital of the Land of Fire directly. Tsunami may negotiate Land of Fire's help if they will acknowledge her… shaku noble status. Or you may offer your services when you end up there.
[] Take Tsunami and Inari with you. Try to go to the Konohagakure directly. You may offer your services when you end up there. Or simply try to set up 'payment in installments' if possible.
[] Write-In.

You may think of something I didn't.

CHOOSE ONE ONLY.

With this, Andy makes his decision. He hopes it's the correct one.

==============

This talk between Andy and Tazuna turned out to be a long one, so I apologize for not including more new creatures' introductions, and more detailed Machine Theme fun, but the next chapter will include it for sure, no matter the chosen option.

3k words. 500 Banked Points. Like always the choice is between:

[] Power Roll (500)
[] Creature Roll (500)
[] Power Roll: Second Roll (500)
[] Creature Roll: Second Roll (500)

Cheers and I hope you still enjoy reading my quest ;).

Okay, given the situation and the amount of danger that could happen, a power roll would help and free up some of Andy's creatures from bodyguard duty.

[X] Set up 'Assassination' plan with Chameleon Drake being the main monster to use. Most likely using your other creatures as a distraction near Gato's mansion.
[X] Power Roll (500)

That Chameleon Drake, despite its size, is handy and the Craterpede would be useful as a tanky harrier if it's deployed and attacking alongside Andy's other creatures.

As for what we should do... I'm more inclined to act fast, but I wouldn't say no to more intel. However, I'm leaning towards the assassination plot despite its apparent dangers.

Well, it's hard for me to think right now... Power Roll look like something potentially useful - Andy already has pretty good creature options. The chameleon alone can be very dangerous, as it is a combination of invisibility and brute strength. Maybe it is possible to go for assassination? Use other creatures to lure out Garo and use invisible unit for an ambush...
Or just go to the front door (with shield of course) and invite Gato's men to leave, surrender, or change sides. Or else everyone in mansion found guilty and will be purged.

The best outcome is if some of the people get scared and retreat, and the leader himself turns out to be too proud and stupid to go out to look at what is happening and expose himself to a blow. The summon army on the doorstep is supposed to instill fear, right? I am not sure...

If this world was more "spiritual," I'd be inclined to suggest a prolonged haunting. But, of course, with the current options on hand and how much the people are suffering; it's a no-go in my book.

It will be even better once you can control it's size.

This front door idea is interesting. Pretty much 'I'm the alpha now, you are my pack' kind of deal. With shinobi around it is kind of risky, but interesting nonetheless ;).

In anime filler, there is an ex-ANBU shinobi from Konoha, that once he died, his soul instead of going to the pure world, stayed around, and of course, Naruto was in the middle of it. Kisuke Maboroshi.

Also, Danzo's summon is pretty much a mythological Baku. And Naruto game that includes Dragons.

So yeah, mythological/paranormal elements may show up in this quest.

An idea may also be starting a fire inside the building, or LOTS of smoke to get people out.

Again, there are other ways to do it outside of my suggestions.

This is the first quest of this kind where i didn't saw the roll being automatic, which is quite nice. Now if the voters only get some restraint so the 800-1000 point game changers actually have a chance. Simurgh, Phoenix Force, Djinns....

I put a point limit at 600 for now. If you go over 600 points, those points go to waste. So no, outside of the super late game you won't be getting those.

Heck, if you end up with too many 500-600, I will put a limit on those as well. At least on 600's, with like 1-2 being available at most.

As yes, Naruto requires balancing, so you don't break it over the knee, lol.

On top of that, I consider already putting 50% nerf on point gain from the word count.

Also, what do you mean exactly by 'the roll being automatic'? I'm curious now.

I mean other quests of this kind do not allow the choice of a roll happening or not, it just does. CM quests allow you to chose between 'power' and 'creature' but to get a big creature you have to beat the odds of constantly failing rolls until you have enough points then get lucky again one last time.

Needless to say, I don't recall not one CM creature over 600 pts actually appearing, and few indeed are the times even a CF power of 800 appeared (since there are more CF stories) and i don't recall one of 1000-1200 yet.

So far we only have giant creatures and the machine theme, who are capable of defeating large numbers of common bandits

I mean really gatou will probably not send the ninja to guard bandits, so he will keep them close, and even if they arrive shortly after the attack begins we will have taken a significant portion of them in the attack

the assassination probaby wont work because gatou will obviously be guarded

and fleeing will likely fail as we don't really have any place to fall back to and whilst gatou may be a dumbass zabuza may send haku to guard, or even the demon twins

besides, there is nothing that connects tizuna and tsunami to the random super bugs that attacked gatous forces

the gathering of funds depends on a woman that we don't know being trustworthy

attack first with maximum power for the advantage in surprise and initiative
