FYI most spell lists are meant to be more like the casters go-to toolbox, not the limits of what they actually know and are capable of. If you can convince me that your character should be capable of a given spell, and that spell does not appear to be overpowered, I'll allow you to do it without going through a specific learning process. This isn't DnD.

Just don't use this too much in a short time period. I will start exercising veto at some point.

Alright, thanks for the info. Hopefully tomorrow we won't do any work in the new house, then I can maybe get some work done on my sheet.

Honestly, given the Weapon scale and Sunset's W5 'Dark Fireball', W4 probably makes more sense for a fireball spell. Assuming it's an explosive fireball and not just a bolt of flame.

-starts compiling-

Hurling an explosive fireball into a Nestor/Vengevine/Nui/Sound Strike brawl seems like a bit of jerk move, though....

W3 Firebolt it is.

Sunlit Dawn rolls defense against Spark's Zap Cannon with Athletics. Spends a FP, invokes Cyberpegasus Commando to reroll. Enemy FP's now at 3/7. Zap Cannon hits by 2 shifts.
Sound Strike rolls defense against Nui's CaA with Empathy. Ties, Nui gains a free invocation on the aspect due to it already existing.
Vengevine rolls defense against Nestor's CaA with Fight. Nestor succeeds with style, 2 free invocations of Off Balance are on Vengevine.
Vengevine rolls defense against Celestia's Magic with Athletics. Celestia hits by 3-shifts.
Sound Strike rolls defense against Ethan's Stealth with Fight. Spends a FP, invokes Earth Pony Martial Artist to reroll. Enemies FP's now at 2/7. Ties, Ethan hits with 0 shifts.

Zap Cannon generates 9-shifts of damage, Sunlit Dawn's armor subtracts 3. Sunlit Dawn fills her fourth physical stress box, takes the mild consequence [Damaged Circuits], and has a [Paralyzed] aspect placed on her.
Celestia's fireball generates 8 shifts of damage, Vengevine's armor subtracts 1. Vengevine is unable to fully mitigate the damage, and is taken out.
Ethan does 2 damage to Sound Strike. Sound Strike fills his second shield stress box.

Ryouga attempts to punch Far Sight in the face. Far Sight attempts to block, spending his fourth magic stress box to do so. Ryouga spends a FP, invokes Incredibly Strong Martial Artist to add +2 to his roll, succeeds by 1-shift. Far Sight, to be efficient with his stress, takes the moderate consequence [Concussed] and fills his 2nd stress box.

Going to have the NPC Team concede the conflict, but I'm pretty sure none of you would be happy if they got away with no deaths. Sunlit Dawn is in the worst position to get away, due to having tried to break off, getting shot down, and being paralyzed now, so she's a given for being unable to escape. Thus, I'm going to put it to a vote which of the other four should fail to escape. The ones who do escape are going to be running the hell away from Moira; they're in no position to keep being in your way.

[ ] Sound Strike
[ ] Far Sight
[ ] Wild Abundance
[ ] White Cross

I'm a little biased ("Kill Far Sight. Kill Far Sight! KILL FAR SIGHT! KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL KILL KILL!") and GM at the moment, so I'll leave it to just you three. If nobody votes, it'll default to Far Sight.

(Please note that Cyreni intended for all six of them to get away while merely banged up.)

I want to vote Wild Abundance...but because "Quick! Loot the body!" rather than any kind of narrative or thematic logic.

*is ashamed of self*

Note that I think the Company comes out ahead regardless of whether or not there's a sacrificial lamb. Both sides have easy ways to remove the consequences taken, and both sides burned a number of FPs, but now the Company has unmolested access to the subbasement and Equestria goes back empty-hooved.

Snowflame would've been removed regardless of Dawn stabbing him, so I don't count him among 'losses taken'. Though I am regretting not having the 'walker unsummon him now.

[X] Sound Strike

I'm not too sure Spark would move to kill somebody helpless, even if he really wants to for Snowflame.

I'll take that as a vote for 'Capture Sound Strike'.

EDIT: I want to get a post out tonight, and given that Nui got a consequence from Sound Strike, that'll probably be Silvan's choice too. Sound Strike it is.

Apologies for my rather short reply.

I found myself busy in real life yet again. I should be able to reply more often this week though.

I'll also tell Xellos about my character's info.

I was actually going to vote for Far Sight since I assumed it'd be Ethan's shot that killed Sound Strike, and that would mildly annoy Nui for all of five minutes.

Five. Precious. Minutes.

But Sound Strike sounds good too.

I actually voted Sound Strike for one particular reason.

+7 Athletics, while the others have a much lower amount. If we fought them again, we could easily beat the crap out of them.

...

Although removing Far Sight and his limited clairvoyance of the area is also a very valid point.

Oh no, the damage from Ethan's shot had already been rolled and dealt before the decision to concede had come. You can't concede after an attack is rolled but before it hits. Once the dice fall, you have to be able to mitigate the damage somehow, or get taken out.

...Basically, it can only happen on your own turn.

*posts IC*

Anybody have any problems with that? I'll edit if anybody is uphappy with it.

If you pay attention, you'll note that Cyreni was jumping their skill ratings around in the fight, trying to make them workable as fair foes. When he sent their sheets to me, they were heavily nerfed. A bit too nerfed, so I actually buffed them back up a little.

"Fair" being "Doesn't have 50/50 odds of ending your adventure right here, right now."
Sorry for not paying enough attention, then.

Sorry for not paying enough attention, then.

It's fine. If you don't see what's going on behind the scenes, it's really only because the moments of them being 'oh shit!' strong really stick out.

In the current form of his sheet, Sound Strike has 22 skill points and his refresh cost is -8. He is somewhat less scary than he was managing to appear.

Spark couldn't help but pause at seeing her.

"Firebird?" He whispered to himself.

It was impossible. If she was Firebird, the attack wouldn't have even hit. The Explorer Badge she was carrying would have made sure of that.

He shook his head, looking towards the others.

Wait. Shit. SHIT!

It was a metaphor, she is NOT literally Firebird with a different painjob, she just kinda looks like Firebird. Like someone gave her theoretical sister a makeover.

I was mostly drawing attention to the cyborg parts.
