Style of the Gods: A Xianxia Style's Celestial Bureaucrat

Our bargain with King Death:

If the practicioners of Green Dragon Style are emulating dragons, they're not doing it to this degree.
True, but that is because whatever Kami that manages that style decided to focus on things beside the natural world not because it doesn't have a bargain with king death.

Like the key point of the agrement is to be like carrion and exalt king death, because we were already rats to begin with and that is what changed, you have to kind of ignore all context on focus on only that phase to get the idea that the deal was to become more rat like instead of becoming a carrion eater.

This plan is completely fine. Our Style has become incredibly survival focused so far, which is interesting and a good fit for something disreputable. We will see what kind of negative traits this new Style costs us, however.

Our Style has become incredibly survival focused so far,
"Be Prepared for Everything."

It's a neat niche, yeah. Means I'm basically not worried at all about Asuka getting kicked out of the Green Dragon Sect, too - she'd probably be able to take care of herself and anyone who followed her out, at least for bare survival. Prosperity probably requires more in Artisan &c.

For the record, I don't think it's the deal with King Death which gets us Animalistic Style choices; but the simple fact we are the Grey Rat Style and therefore can be reasonably expected to be offered focuses that emulate animal characteristics. If this really was caused by our deal you'd expect it to show up on Death-themed Style focuses, while our latest Style choice clearly wasn't fluffed that way at all. I think the evidence of this supposition is thin, to say the least.

Also our hunger was acerbated by yin-yang imbalance which is why I wanted Yang Specialist to balance it out.
Hrm?

We've had Gluttonous twice. The first time it was indeed from a Yin-Yang balance - towards Yang, which is why specializing in Yin fixed it despite none of our votes being intended to do any such thing.

The second time we got gluttonous, we haven't gotten rid of it yet; the specific cause appears to be "not the same as last time," 'cause direct Yin channeling hasn't worked; Asuka still identifies it as a Yang imbalance, aka "too much Yang." I don't see how more yang will help.

might be because Yin is dominant I do not know so this is a guess

1406 - Year of the Horse
After your meeting with Grandfather Wyldclaw, you decide to head out into the forest alone to clear your head. You don't want to lose your grip on what made this place special to you; at the same time, you know you shouldn't be envying Jiro's hounds.

So out into the wilds you go, bringing along a heavy stack of bureaucratic papers. After all, you have to catch up on paperwork sometime, and there's almost nothing more human than bureaucracy.

The Stonebreaker Mountains are filled with all kinds of Demon Beasts and Wyld kami, but you feel prepared and ready to take them all on. So you camp out in a small tent in the middle of the wilderness, set traps for small game and larger threats, and confidently nap.

You wake up with another Hellboar squealing from the bottom of one of your pit traps. You stick it with a spear, and go back to sleep.

Before long, the days settle into a comfortable routine; check the traps, fish in the nearby stream, eat breakfast, do paperwork, eat lunch, go for a stroll along the riverbank, check the traps again, eat supper, do more paperwork, go to bed. Every day is a new adventure, except for the paperwork, which is always there. You go without eating at times, but it doesn't seem like much of a hardship.

It's a good life, and not one a dog could ever live.

You're very, very tired of this hunger in your belly and this fog on your thoughts. The Goldfur Robe helps a little, at least, but it's not enough. So, you begin to branch out from the potions and philtres described in the ancient texts.

The coat makes you less hungry, so its overflowing Life Atma must be at least partially correcting the imbalance. That suggests an excess of Death Atma. Where it's coming from, you're not sure, but that certainly seems to match the hypothesis. So she needs to either reduce or filter the Death Atma, or increase the amount of Life Atma she produces. The latter would seem to make the most sense, so…

If she takes a few threads from the golden coat, burns them, gathers up the ashes, and drinks that…

It works longer. Not permanently, but for two months rather than the grave ash's one. What if she uses wood ash instead of grave ash? It's somewhere in-between. What if she adds wood ash to thread from the coat? It's even longer, three months, but it makes her nauseous occasionally, probably from the excess of Wood Atma. So if she balances that with additional water and some silver shavings from the edge of a coin…

It takes her a dozen tries, but eventually she hits upon it. Three parts water one part sap from a willow tree one part ashes of the gold coat one part copper shavings. The alchemical concoction burns down her throat and in her stomach, but when it's done the hunger and haze are completely gone.

That's seven shifts this time. Looks like Asuka's project to remove Voracious only removed the trait with no other effect - but we don't know what might have happened if she'd failed.

We've gained another point of disreputable; I don't particularly care that we have the trait, but it's probably going to be increasingly inconvenient as we let it get higher. On the other hand, it might be acting as a bonus to working with heavenly criminal types? We still can't exactly swear as to what degree these traits might count as positive or negative.

Warrior and Alchemist are nice pickups, though.

Third time is the charm as they say, in this case we work on foudations since it to help when trying to make the style a little more widespread than a single hero.

Seriously do people have something against unlocking the fourth action ? I fell like I am the only one interested in that for some reason, when having a fouth way to manage our development should greatly help with our everything.

I am also starting to fell that is why disreputable is practicaly out of control, we have basicaly no reputation because no one knows the style exists in the first.
