Strange Tides

[X] Take on one of the bronze smiths as Oikonomos (Gain an administrative hero immediately with a strong agenda to obtain more bronze supplies)
[X] Isidoros
-[X] Logging Camp
[X] Argurios
-[X] Send someone to negotiate with the local people to deepen ties or heal past insults.
--[X] The Northern Villages
[X] Semni
-[X] Study Local Faiths

We need more hero units, the logging camp can help cover the expenses of constructing the quarry, Argurios has pretty good diplomacy, and Semni can look into getting Gradivus as our God of War.

I hope Argurios takes some bodyguards, and the northern tribe is okay with him fighting a monster in their area/village.

This takes care of the basics.

1. We do need bronze, and having an administrative hero with getting more as his mission will come in handy. Having an administrative hero in general will come in handy.
2. We're still not done building our court.
3. So long as we send Argurios on a patrol, the monster will go to him. And now that we have god-forged arms and armor I like our chances.
4. Semni should study the local legends in anticipation of the various monsters to slay.

@Azel @DragonParadox Can we get a map of roughly where Hyphyria is and where the two forge locations are?

Might be a good idea to send Argurios patrolling in the direction of the monster infested one. The hag like creature is already hunting him so he doesn't have to go looking for it and it's probably a good idea to start on fulfilling our promise to a God.

i THINK WE NEED TO SPECIFIY TROOPS HERE:

Edit: Holy capslock. Sorry.
What would you suggest?

That might not be the best idea. What if he runs into more monsters while he's still trying to kill the first one?

Perhaps an infantry and archery unit each?
Three units at least.
We want mundane firepower to keep Argurios back free while dealing with his personal issue.
And to effectivly secure the area, as patrolling should.
I went with three units. We don't want to pull our punches with this monster, not to mention the fact that when we do finally kill it, it'll be a massive morale boost for the entire army.

The best thing about humanity is that we outnumber the monsters (well, so far).
Argurios shouldn't go into that fight alone!

By beings that follow some kind of warrior code yes, this particular monster does not seem to be primarily a warrior.
It still seems to run along the lines of 'you deserved it', otherwise the whole 'and with how many woman have you slept' wouldn't make much sense. It might react to a challenge.

@DragonParadox @Azel, in Argurios' expert opinion, how many military units should he bring with him?
The units you are sending on patrol will stay there to actually perform those patrols, so he wouldn't want to drain that many forces from Hyphyria proper.

On that note though, he sees a dire need for more troops if you want to claim larger areas of land. Especially as the city is beginning to produce enough wealth to become attractive to raiders.

Has our population increased enough that we can recruit more soldiers from among our citizens? I certainly won't say no to a better army if it can be afforded.

The population isn't the problem so much anymore as long as you are willing to pull more barbaroi in to have them do the menial jobs.
What is the most pressing issue is the lack of bronze supply.

Have we heard anything about where to get more bronze? Any rumors of nearby traders?
