Strategic Turn 2: Tactical Diplomacy (Part 1)
GM NOTE: This section, and other non-strategic sections will feature short updates with a very short time between them. You have been warned.

You immediately call out "Try and open up a call with them; hopefully we can resolve this without any violence."

Your Analog comms officer salutes you as he replies "I can do that. Broadcasting raw audiovisual feed of Command Chair."

You nod, and speak in Interface Spacer Standard "Greetings, I am Shura Fyrest, currently captaining the Chaotica. I am currently delivering an archaeological find to the Federation, and would request that you allow us to finish the maintenance cycle on our Jump Drive before we depart."

This is when your comms officer replies "They're sending an audiovisual feed in Ternary, shall I put them on screen?"

You nod, and say "Yes, please put them on screen."

With that, the large flatscreen directly in front of you lights up, showing what you recognize as the rendered avatar of a Scarat Caretaker, given that an orb of light orbited by several chunks of crystal isn't something that any physical being you know of looks like, regardless of how heavily augmented they are.

The Caretaker greets you, saying "I am Terek Lon, currently in command of the System Defense Monitor Vigilant and the Frigate Executioner. It is nice to know you aren't currently planning violence. That said, this is Chaos Space, and we need some some assurance that you're being honest with us. So, given that, what type of artifact exactly are you transporting?"

Your reply is
[] "We are transporting a recovered Replicator bio-printer, with the intentions of donating it to a museum."

[] "We found a cache of military hardware from the War. Its ultimate destination is a museum in the Federation."

[] "Chaotica is a recovered Replicator Forgeship, ultimately intended to be turned into a museum ship. We have not made use of the bio-printing facilities, despite being short-crewed."

[] Write-In

So would it be out of line to say we found some replicator equipment and its destination is the Federation museum

[x] "We found a cache of military hardware from the War. Its ultimate destination is a museum in the Federation."
I mean its not wrong it is military hardware just not specifics.

So, is literally anyone else planning on voting, or should I just write the update?

You immediately reply "We found a cache of military hardware from the War. Its ultimate destination is a museum in the Federation."

The Caretaker Unit in charge of the other ship replies "Alright, I'm willing to not shoot you on the spot. Still, to make sure you don't try something clever I'm going to need some collateral."

You nod, asking "Understood. What do you want for collateral?"

To this, the Caretaker replies "I would like to request your presence aboard my ship until you are beginning preparations to Jump. Once you return to your own vessel, you will have 30 seconds to Jump before we open fire. We will provide the Shuttle."

It's clear from the AI's tone that this is an order, rather thann a request. Still, you do technically have a choice of whether to go along with this. So, will you?
[] Yes, this deal is acceptable
[] No way! (begin fight)

Is it possible for us to just jump right now or would we need time to warm up. If so then [x] Yes, this deal is acceptable

Well either way we have to jump so is there anyway to make are chances better or is this as good as it gets.
The deal is basically to spend a couple a days aboard the other ship while Chaotica gets its Jump Drive looked at. Afterwards, you get back aboard your own ship and get told to scram. The 'yes' option will not have any chance of Jump Failure.

[x] Yes, this deal is acceptable
-[] Can we get a list of nearby systems as our navigation database is empty?

Strategic Turn 2: Tactical Diplomacy (final)
You agree to the Caretaker's offer, and spend the next couple of days aboard their ship. Soon enough, it's time to go. You'd picked out a system on your way to the Federation, and had ultimately decided to go with

[] Frenesta, a unified system under a constitutional monarchy. It's pretty stable, as far a schaos space goes.

[] Calcico, a relatively stable system split between three major factions.

[] Elkess, Chaos Space at its most unstable, the entire system is divided between more petty states than there are asteroids in the system, and the general lawlessness makes the place a favorite of pirates trying to sell their ill-gotten goods... meaning it's perfect if you want to buy something shady.

You'd already arranged to send a Courier Pod ahead of you so that people would know you were coming, meaning that hopefully people attacking you would be less likely.

You step aboard, the shuttle that had ferried you here departs, and with the distinctive hum of a Jump Drive activating you depart for the next stop on your hazardous route back to the Federation.
