First off, I think we all need to take a moment to calm down. Name calling doesn't help anyone, whether it be reductionist or crass. Next, I think we need to take a step back and try and think about this entire mess without getting worked up.
McLuvin, it is true that multiple people voting for Coruscant have said that they are willing and hoping to leave the Order when Anakin finishes his training, yourself included. However, multiple other people voting for Coruscant have said they regard it as the only way to get to Knighthood. There will certainly be a faction at that point voting strongly to remain in the Order because of the Sunk Cost Fallacy, or the idea that getting a Master is the best way to become a Knight. Thereafter, becoming a Knight will likely preclude a focus on anything beyond Jedi teachings until after the Clone Wars are in full swing. Assuming of course, that the Clone Wars still become a thing.
Next, I think both sides should consider what information will be available to an Initiate at the Coruscant Temple. It's not all going to be Force Techniques. In fact, the Jedi Order at this point in time wears so many hats, and Anakin's coming so late to his training, that it probably won't even
mostly be Force Techniques. Anakin's going to need to learn multiple languages, diplomacy, how to pilot Jedi craft, Galactic History, Galactic Politics, Galactic Culture, and a thousand and one other things that are required of the Defenders of Peace and Order in the Republic. Added to that heavy workload he will also learn how to use and build a Lightsaber, and likely construct his first following a trip to Ilum.
There will be a heavy social pressure for Anakin to conform to Jedi norms while he's an Initiate, which will include squashing any memories or attachment to his family, not acting from emotion, and considering the Greater Good above all else. It is likely, though not definite, that Anakin will have very little in the way of Free Time while he's catching up with the training the rest of the Initiates have undergone.
While on Coruscant, Anakin will also have the opportunity to interact with the main body of Prequel canon, both plot and characterwise. That' s a mixed blessing, given the Sith, but also given the various cool Jedi who will be around.
Now, let us try to compare this to going with Master Zan and the Followers of Palawa. We now know that Anakin's Teräs Käsi master is Arden Lyn, a veteran of the First Great Schism and a woman who's been wandering the Galaxy for a millennium at this point per the GM. That means she's a Dark Sider, but also that she predates the toxic ideology of the Sith. From what we know in canon, her distaste for the Jedi of her day was
warranted, as they destroyed her homeworld unprovoked, and were the ones to initiate combat with the Legions of Lettow before they'd done anything beyond study the Dark. Now, it can be said that the Legions were a clear threat as Dark Siders, but at that point they hadn't
done anything besides form a powerbase of Force Users distinct from the Jedi. Not
in opposition to mind, just
distinct form.
She was a Jedi Knight before leaving to join the Legions, and so is at least as knowledgeable as a modern day Jedi in the ways of the Force. Her knowledge of Lightsaber techniques is likely rather more sketchy, but we don't know what she's learned in the last thousand years. Regardless, training with her will focus on developing Anakin's ability with the Force, and probably also a fair bit of history and philosophy on why the Jedi aren't all that and a bag of chips.
She may also push Anakin to Fall, or she may not. It depends on what her end goals are, and whether she's fallen into habits typically associated with the Sith. As a Thousand Year Old Dark Sider in a GALAXY OF PARANOID JEDI I doubt she has, but who knows? We only know as much as we do because the GM told us!
Both options are roughly equal in what Anakin will learn. Before he went to bed Arthellion said as much, that Anakin will learn well and strongly in either choice. So really, it's more about what you put a priority on. Is it spending at least the next 3-4 years focusing on becoming a well rounded Jedi of the Coruscant Temple's style, followed by further training, be it Jedi or otherwise, or is it spending the next indeterminate amount of years learning the ancient ways of the Followers of Palawa, followed by further training, be it Jedi or otherwise?
@Arthellion, these people are voting to join the temple but with an unnecessary stipend attached that I think we're going to get anyway, does that mean they still count towards the greater majority of the Go to the Temple votes or are they separate? Because they do want to go to the Temple first, as do a majority of the voters.
As was stated before me while I was composing this beast of a post, Arthellion has stated that he will count this particular write in purely as a vote for the Temple with a little extra fluff as that is how Arthellion views it.
