Star Trek: Discovery

My issue is that there's no way in hell I'm paying to watch a network tv show no matter how good it is. Hopefully they have a DVD at some point.

I... dear gods, that looks like the bastard child of fantasy scale mail armour and a Mass Effect naval dress uniform...

I'd like the shape of the uniform, but the colour and details just kill it for me.

I don't understand why you would do that. Especially from a series which has always been 60% informed by "But, no actually, how do we do that as cheaply as possible"

That, and it doesn't fit with the overall aesthetic of Starfleet, even in Abramsverse. Starfleet may be many things, but garish and gaudy, they are not- except here, apparently.

I would buy it an be satisfied if it were the style at the time.

Like, we see civilian dress, and it's just fucking frills and lace, and all sorts of doodads and like filigree everywhere. Because someone went "WAIT. WE CAN DO THIS." and then the Federation's population lost their goddamn minds for, like, a decade and a half.

But it's probably just some costume designer being too clever by half. They discovered that they could and never stopped to ask if they /should/

omfg that uniform looks like a fucking meme

"Wait. ZOOM AND ENHANCE"
*uniform is actually a billion tiny Shatners*

Seems a bit too action oriented for a Star Trek show. I'd give it a shot, but I refuse to pay a premium for network tv.

The Twitter trailer won't load and when I try to access it via the website, the site just refreshes over and over until it crashes because "This content is not available in your location."

I want to watch Michelle Yeoh in Star Trek, but CBS won't let me.

If they didn't tell us those were Klingons, I'd have had no idea.

That's not a good thing at all.

Hang on, another major inconsistency! TOS ERA DID NOT HAVE SHUTTLEBAY FORCEFIELDS! Oh, for fuck's sake!

*Looks deeper, into the advanced stupid* Oh my fucking god, are they serious? Are they really going to play some fucking game of the vulcan-raised char being another half-sibling of Spock? Are they really that fucking incompetent? I don't care if she's from Amanda's side, NO! NO! NOOOO!
