You decide to follow Osborn's orders and spend your last week with friends and family.

The dinner is nice and you try not to be weirded out as your aunt makes polite conversation with you, your wife and your mistress. The awkwardness falls away and you just have a nice time, before you leave Aunt May grabs you by the arm.

Karen handles the social stuff as you walk around the resturant, another invasion is comming but for now you are happy.

For a moment you thought about putting a sleep spell on Karen but honestly you know that wouldent last long and Karen lives for this sort of thing. You walk up to where Cyclops is holding court.
"Oscorp offers its aid."
Cyclops nods.
"Theres an official truce in the city every one fights the invaders."
"Who is it this time."

"Brainac."

"Again, according to out people this is his thirtieth try."
You shake your head.

"He's in DC, the state department wants that city untouched."
"Oh, so what are the rules?"

Zantana and John cast their illusion spells and you summon the winter court. A fairy looks at you.

A hoard of fairies spring from the portal, you then summon the angel, the creature looks at you.
"Your cause is just and heaven has placed its judgement on brainac I fight by your side."
Then it started and the sky turned red, the milataries laser cannons and defenses go on line, you think you see a couple lanterns.
"Kid you ever fight Brainac before?"
You shake your head.
"Hit hard and have no mercy their drones they don't think so don't worry about morality or anything."
You nod and spring into battle.
The hard part isn't beating them the bots are easily crushed the problem is the number the shear number of them. You spend all week trying to help people get into shelters and doing hit and run attacks. The only places that still stand are warded buildings like Oscorp, Baxter, Stark towers and the statue of liberty.

The defense of the city has become more organized, the word is that earth has four more weeks until all the lantern corps, the shiar empire, and the nova corps comes to help. So all you need to do is hold the line for another three weeks.
You decide to spend this week healing people, you heal a few the the famous names, Mary Marvel is out of retirement and kicking ass. She looks good for a woman over 80 years old, Hawk eye and Black widow with the other big names but mostly you heal cops, marines, general milatary personal and any one who has the guts to go out there and fight. Its long exausting work but as one of the few people trained in magical healing your stuck doing it.
Your hard work on Oscorp towers was successful, the tower is untouched and has become a shelter and a base of operations for new yourks resitance you heal your current charge and he opens his eyes.
"God damn it."
You blink.
"Shocker?"
"Yeah I agreed to fight standard invasion rules less time fight well yadda yadda yadda, you?"
"Oscorp chooses to stand by humanity in her hour of need."
He cringes.
"Rough."

"Look Im not going to take it personally you attacked us by the books, you didnt hurt us, you didn't steal our stuff and you didn't go around quiping or making fun of us. So me and the boys are not going to take it personally ok?"

"Thanks for the heal."
Shocker fixes his braclet and sighes.
"Well into the breach."
During a lull in the fighting your visited by Charles Xvavier you look up.
"Wish your wife would show up."
He sits down next to you.
"So do I, I just want to say keep this up we have fought brainac before and we can do so again."
"Why?"
"Because its our duty and every time the Xmen help beat back an invasion it makes bigotry a little more obviously wrong. We will win this and get a little closer to true equality."
He smiles and gathers up some of his people, by the end of the week your exausted.
You call up Karen and sit her down.
"Any way I can convince you to stay where its safe?"
She shakes her head.
"Im too fast, strong, and tough they need me out there. Moms helping too, its nice were bonding."
You kiss her and she flys away, four more weeks.

Its just as long and tiring as medical work was, the rain of robot drones is endless the flack guns are out of ammo and have switched to grid powered laser and plasma weapons. You race to help out a trapped group of fellow fighters and find Scorpion staring at you blankly.
"Oh you."
He uses his tail lasers to destroy more drones.
"Just that?"
Scorpion sighs.
"Look Msyterio is dead, Vultures dead, I lost two of my friends this week, and before you say anythign Chamelion was a prick, and none of us approved of killing cops because its god damned stupid."
You web the eyes of a drone and watch as Rhino destroys it.
Theres peace in this part of the city for now but before you can leave you feel a hand on your shoulder.
"Spider man."
You turn around.
"Look there are a lot of people who can fight, what this city really needs right now is some one who can heal. Please go back to doing that."
He lets you go and you continue destroying drones.
For what ever reason theirs a lull in the fighting, the city is badly damaged and covered in scrap metal. You sit in a broken down shwarma shop.
John sits across from you.
"Pain in the bloody arse."

"Braniac, your doing all right Pete?"
"Just thinking about what the scorpion said."

You freeze.
"Look any one can fight but healing that puts more blokes back on the line, ya know?"
You sigh Karen is sleeping on the counter under a thin blanket.
"I wish she would go some where safe."

He goes and finds a corner to sleep in, psylock wanders in in her armor

You smile and kiss her.

Karen snores in the back ground the two of you touch fore heads.
"I feel like we should do some grand send off pete."

You grab Karen and take her to a more sheltered area of the shwarma shop.
The three of you cuddle together for warmth.
