Ironically, electromagnetic stuff wouldn't work as a source because "electromagnets" is how "turn a turbine" turns into electricity generation in the first place. So you basically can't cause the thing to spin with electromagnets without costing yourself more electricity than you're generating. At the same time, you're absolutely correct that it allows for cultivation.

Though it's an interesting thought that the very first cultivators in this world were probably "struck by lightning" cultivators.
