A couple of questions. How visible is cultivation stuff from the outside? Just there is a lot of talk of mechanisms and the parts needed for cultivation need to be physically crafted. Are they inserted surgically or through a more mystical process?

Also. Are there other types of cultivation? Which is multilayered. Because there could be cultivation methods which rely on a different power sources to drive mechanical functions. But there could be stranger techniques out there as well. One scene I would like to see is looking into a cabinet of curiosities and seeing an antique which is clearly plays a part in some societies cultivation but at the same time is opaque to the average steam cultivator.

Other possible cultivation things. Early cultivators needing to use muscle power to run simple devices. For example the Antikythera Device as an inbuilt calculator used by ancient philosophers. Small animals modified with springpowered souls. And old clunky fixed location "ship souls" that rely on wind and water power to function

Depends how far along you are. The further you progress, the more visible your boilersoul becomes. At First Heat, there's nothing more than a flesh-tone panel over your stomach. At Engine Expansion, internal organs start becoming machine. Beyond that, things start getting funky.

It isn't especially hard to transfer a part into your boilersoul. It's about as complicated as unscrewing the panel over your stomach to access your boilersoul. Parts placed inside the transfer chamber—as that is what the panel covers—are then accessible from your boilersoul.

A good question and one that has no simple answer.

Cultivation in SSQ is centered around generating power (electricity) for your soul to utilize. No matter how the power is generated, it is still, effectively, the same cultivation type.

Just like in real life, it all effectively comes down to turning a turbine.

And also just like in real life, there are ways of doing it without turning a turbine.

Improv is the greatest ability a mechanic with no suplychain can have.

Wait so someone could get nuclear material and cultivate that way? Really? Or use electromagnetic tricks to do so?

Our supply chain issues are 'dying horribly' isn't it?

Was intending on closing the vote today, but today has just not been conducive at all for cultivating a writing atmosphere. My apologies

You just made a really BIG mistake.

Because now i totaly want a Nuclear Reactor to fuel our protagonist Cultivation. And i will not stop before anything to get it.
You say that, but uh. There's no guarantee that fissile material is even available while we're on a spaceship, nor that anyone accessible to the perspective character would even know what to do with it, let alone how to do so safely.

Sorry everyone, but my mental health took a nose dive and I'm not sure I'll be able to actually work on this one.
