"It's okay baby, everything will be alright, please Mommy is here please just hold on!"
It hurts... Mom...
"He will be alright honey, Josuke is a strong boy."
Dad... help.... help me...
"I'm sorry sir, ma'am, you can't stay here, the doctor needs space to work."
"B-but my child-"
"It's okay honey... he is in good hands... please, listen to the nurse..."

On the 5th of June 2005, 9.27 PM, Josuke Naoe dies. His heart stops, and brain activity ceases completely. But yet...
By some miracle, his heart resumes regular beating rythm and he returns to the land of the living. He does however, remain unconscious for a period of two weeks.
If you were to ask Josuke's parents however, they would say that their son did not emerge unscathed from this ordeal. He seemed physically changed, his voice lower, more hoarse even after wetting with water, and he never seemed to get hurt after that. Sometimes, he seemed like a different person altogether.
But we know better, don't we SV?

My bleary eyes catch on to the unfamiliar ceiling... is this Evangelion?
With a groan, I pick myself up from a... bed? Sitting up, I wipe the crust from my eyes to get a good look at my surroundings. I was in a pretty standard hospital room, shared with five other children. By my side was sleeping woman, and a bag connected to the IV stuck in my hand. I took a closer look at the woman... or rather, the words hanging on top of her.

How the hell does she... wait no.... no no no oh no.
Oh yes.
The damning screen pops up right in front of me.
Your HP, MP and Status has been replenished and restored after a good night's rest!
Oh shit.
I am... the gamer.
Okay, okay. Take a deep breath.... hahhhh right. Now, first things first, how the hell did I end up here?
... I remember the note... then backing away from the computer... then falling... Oh.
Oh dear. So I am in a self insert... being written by some other evil twin of me out there in the Multiverse somewhere.
I bet he even has a mustache he twirls as he writes this.
I prefer to keep myself well groomed thank you very much.
Sigh, okay next thing.

So these are my stats, huh, well makes sense I guess. I mean, I was always a pretty chunky guy who took the time and pain to train myself. Even if was mostly so that I could just eat whatever the hell I want. Though, eventually I guess I continued because I started to enjoy it I guess.
As for my mental attributes, well, a Bilngual Singaporean education combined with having to learn how to code in multiple languages does a number on your mind. That and all the advice I give and reading I took to in my spare time.
Luck on the other hand... well it's okay I guess? I mean I didn't really partake in much gambling anyway.
I am curious about the Young child status effect however. I tapped it with my finger.
Young Child Level: MAX
As a young child you have not undergone the full physical development of an adult. As such your base physical stats are capped at 15. This status will afflict you from the ages of 6 to 9
Huh, well, it made sense I guess. Save from supernatural empowerment, you really can't expect a six year old to have the same strength as an adult. Hell, I think 15 is already pretty generous.
Closing the windows, I plop back down, my head sinking into the soft pillows.
Sigh... what the hell am I going to do now?
I don't even know where the hell I am.
But maybe, this woman can help me?
So, do I...
