Shattered Bindings (Spyro AU)

Okay, what the heck did I do wrong with the vote this time? :(

History casts a long shadow wins to nobodies surprise.

It said that the start was the threadmark though...

Ugh. So either don't use it or start the vote thing immediately.
hmm
Works for me

  • [X] History casts a long Shadow
-[X] Strifescar - An ancient city on the border between the Artisan and Peace Keeper realms, which has stood in one form or another for longer than recorded history. Underneath it is a labyrinth of ruins so expansive that one could spend their entire life in and never fully explore. Strifescar is a city with a rich history which has outlasted all four of the Dragon Empires.
-[X] You were called Dusk as you hatched from your egg.

I think it's a problem with the 'schedule a vote count' option.

Growing Up
You were born to Aquira and Scurris. Your mother a water dragoness trader and your father a shadow dragon explorer. Growing up they would avail you of stories of all sorts. Your father spoke of the excitement and adventure that his delves into the catacombs brought, while your mother would regale you with tales of the wider world. Sometimes though they would speak of other things such as your mother's distaste for the nobility, your the many close encounters that your father managed to escape from. The occasional folk tale or legend would be told to you as well and every once in a while you would catch them whispering the name 'Malefor'

There were two topics that stuck out to you in particular however.

Choose two
[] Your mother's tales of other places such as Poesitias, Noctrine, and Faradun amongst others. (Knowledge of the major cities)
[] Your father's many adventures in the catacombs and the treasures that he brought back. (Partial knowledge of some of Strifescar's catacombs)
[] The old clans who wield powers that few others could grasp. (Knowledge of the clans such as the Amethyst Weavers, Shaded Tatters, Dream Weavers, and others)
[] Some of the more distasteful deals that your parents had made over the years. (Knowledge of the underworld and blackmarket)
[] Heroes, villains, and other important individuals across the realms. (Knowledge of major figures throughout the realms)
[] Other races who lived in the dragon realms. (Knowledge of other races)
[] The Resistance, fighting against the tyrannical empire. (Knowledge of the Resistance)
[] The Empire who ruled with an iron claw. (Knowledge of the Fourth Dragon Empire)
[] Tales, myths, and legends of the dragon realms. (Knowledge of folklore and legends)
[] Writein

When your parents found the time to teach you, they focused on two things in particular.

Choose One (Father)
[] Your father focused on making sure you had a head start on your element. (Gain five training rolls for Shadow after you unlock your element)
[] He focused on making sure you could move unseen. (Gain five training rolls for Stealth)
[] He made sure you knew how to fight. (Gain five training rolls for Combat)
[] He decided that you needed to have a good grasp of the less savory side of things. (Gain five training rolls for Deception)

Choose One (Mother)
[] Your mother decided you needed to know how to know how to deal with other people. (Gain five training rolls for Diplomacy)
[] She decided you needed to know about the nobility who ruled Strifescar. (Knowledge of the nobility and other important figures inside the city)
[] She focused on making sure you knew how to swim. (Gain five training rolls for Swim)
[] She made sure you knew how to read people. (Gain five training rolls for Insight)

Your parents could not be with you all the time and would often find other people to watch you or ways to keep you occupied when they could not be there. They often used a sitter, left you at a daycare, or had you enrolled at a learning center. What did they do most often when neither could be there with you?

Choose one
[] They enrolled you in a learning center. (+general knowledge)
[] They hired somebody to look after you. (+randomly decided bonus)
[] They left you at a daycare among other hatchlings and whelps. (+friends)
[] They trusted you to take care of yourself as soon as you were capable of doing so. (+character creation)
[] Writein

I did make a change to the mechanics infomark. Added skills to it.
Also give a big hearty welcome to my friend @AbyssDance he helps behind the scenes with the quest.

Number of tough choices this round. I figured having a good "all around" approach would be a good starter with our character. Likely will have natural bonuses to stealth-deception as a Shadow Dragon naturally so more points in "general" for training is good. Likewise general knowledge will let us stymy the specifics of the races and society in the world at large, we'll know at least the basics regardless..

As for the catacombs, well I imagine having the opportunity to get treasures will let us either get gear or money from the finds if Dusk goes down there.. The Dragon Empire is due to fact that according to the map we are likely in an area they heavily control.. so figuring out their system figure be a good start.

Huh, he the one that made the map as well?

No, that was actually me.

My contributions are the map, the entire magic system, and some characters. He contributed more of the details regarding the people and places in the setting. We have over two years of back and forth discussion over even the most minor detail for this setting. At this point the line between who did what is very, very blurry to be honest.

Two masterminds mixing together all the Spyro canons.. Excellent
Lets have Dusk starting leaving his claw marks all over it heh

Well, with Dusk here hope to start exploring the secrets you have layed within the world.. and perhaps uncover them all in time. ;)

Some of the secrets are either so obscure, revolve around a specific character, are in a completely different part of the world, ect that I will be very surprised if you uncover everything we have to offer. Even some of the lower hanging fruit might be difficult to be honest.

The idea behind this quest in particular happened a week or two ago. A lot of the setting has been designed around so many other factors, that quite a bit will just not have much if not anything to do with Dusk.

Aye, I get it. Bit of a "test run" to see how the setting works in practice I figure. ;)

More seriousness, I get we arent the "main protagonist" in the grand scheme of things, that honor belongs to Spyro if anything heh. Just want to try and see a major event.. maybe even have a role in its outcome if possible.

Don't mind me too much, just gonna be lurking, and watching~
Isnt that supposed to Dusks deal as a Shadow Dragon? :p
