That's fine, honestly. Given the luck we seem to have in our encounters I'd rather have the additional weaponry available to us.You can recover arrows and in case of metal arrows the tips, but those might degrade in quality.
Fletching is indeed something you learned as part of your archery training and every recovered tip is magically turned into a new arrow during a day of downtime.
Though if you guys want to regularly use different arrows, you would need a second quiver, which is another point of encumbrance.
That would be great, but we'd need a lot more training in Alchemy before we can pull that off. Matlal should presumably be able to teach us.I was just thinking about the synergy fletching can have with alchemy. The simplest would be to coat reasonably cheap arrows with curare, but I certainly could think of the usefulness of fire and smoke arrows.
Or perhaps some sort of smoke, teargas or knock out grenade. You know, a little clay vessel filled with an alchemical compound.
Here you go.
Pretty freaking fast. Wonderful paralytic.Curare
Base DC: 150 (Herbalism)
A simple poison made from various plants. When applied to a weapon, Curare causes the victim to lose on wound per turn of combat as his muscles go limp. Unless an antidote is administered, it is lethal within minutes.
Does it work on spirits like the Fleshweaver? I doubt it could work on the Firesprites, the weaver had a corporeal body.
I'm... not sure. At all, really. Doesn't hurt to try, but I wouldn't count on it. We should probably ask Matlal about it.Does it work on spirits like the Fleshweaver? I doubt it could work on the Firesprites, the weaver had a corporeal body.
@TotallyNotEvil, here you go.@Azel What kind of arrows, besides MW Bone, would we need for our shiny MW bow?
Would Exceptional Bronze work?
I now feel very stupid that a leg weights 4 but is worth 35 when armour weights 2 and is worth 60.
@Nevill, keep in mind that the effective quality of a bow is lowered when using arrows worse then it.
You can get in Tlamaca:
Exceptional Obsidian Arrows - 2 Quachtli per 30
Regular Bronze Arrows - 1 Tlaltepoztli per 30
Exceptional Bronze Arrows - 2 Tlaltepoztli per 30
Masterwork arrows are unavailable, except for those carved from spirit bone and you would need to supply those.
That being said, the only things better then this bow are a Masterwork Warbow and magical gear.
Yes, but are those simply the best arrows we can get, or are those enough to use our bow as Mwk?
Also, @Azel arent the prices for Mwk gear kind of stupid high? Especially as we are supplying the material?
These guys are billing enough to buy bronze armour, just to carve the weapons.
They are making some insane profits there.
I'd be happy if the high price also served as a guarantee that we won't be discovered.Yes, but are those simply the best arrows we can get, or are those enough to use our bow as Mwk?

It's 30 each.--[x] Exceptional Bronze Arrows - 2 Tlaltepoztli for 60 Arrows

Damn. Alright, fixing. And yeah, might as well borrow it all since we need a bit of money for a rainy day. Xochi is the best and I don't regret recruiting her at all. It's 30 each.
I think we should ask Xochi for the full 10 Tlaltepoztli, as we are currently spending literally all our money.
Maybe with time we'll be able to tell how much spirit parts cost? I know there was speculation on learning metalworking so we could operate in the market better and be sure we weren't being cheated.Man, we took 1 leg, 1 fang and 5 armour, instead of 3 leg, 1 fang and 1 armour, we'd have made an extra 170 Tlaltepoztly.
So. Salty.
I was tempted to make the next metal weapon a sword, to be honest. That's been a bit of a dream of mine for the entire quest.Maybe we should buy another exceptional obsidian dagger?
Get ourselves some sweet TWF feats.
I am really looking forward to that masterwork spiritbone bow by the end of this. That thing is going to be incredible.@Duesal, I will have to check my notes later when I'm back on my notebook, but a sword should be around 50 - 100 Tl if my memory doesn't fail me.
In regards to the masterwork prices, a good part of that is paying for tool repair and time. Since no craftsmen here would be willing to spend months to slowly carve the spirit-bone with softer tools, they will dull a good set of metal tools a few times before they are done.
I'm only getting the Exceptional Bronze arrows now since it's always a bit dicey staying in the city when we might be forced to leave at any moment, and this is the best place for us to shop for miles around. It's like Molten Skies all over again, isn't it?@Duesal It's a pity about the arrows. But 12.5 Tlal for a bundle or bone arrows, when Exceptional Bronze costs 2 is... Unattainable.
