So I figured that the whole "Gains +3 to all werewolf-relevant skills" might be a bit overpowered despite the full Moon restriction (since it applies to Physique, Fight, Investigate, Provoke, and Athletics all at once), so I tentatively edited the Werewolf Transformation Stunt to the above as a possible nerf. However, werewolves do have more mythological abilities than just the three that the Stunt system allows for. Super Strength, Super Senses: Smell, and Natural Weapon covers most of them (aside from Super Speed/Agility, but they generally don't run fast enough or jump far enough to count as speedsters or acrobats, which is what the +2 bonus on Super Speed and Agility seems to indicate), but there's the problem of the werewolf's iconic weakness to silver. Most modern depictions have them as weak to silver and nigh-invulnerable to everything else. They shrug off bullets, laugh at stab wounds, and walk away from a 100MPH side-on collision with an eighteen-wheeler only slightly worse for wear. How is that supposed to be represented in Fate Core terms? Do you have a better way of representing werewolf powers than the Stunt I have above?
Guys, I know how much this must suck, but I currently have some serious personal problems that coupled with my family moving to a different country altogether means I won't have much free time on my hands as I had before. This means I'll have to finish this RP prematurely or, should you find anyone willing to act as a replacement GM, continue without me.
I'm sorry, but sometimes things happen. For what it's worth, such positive feedback really made me happy.

I can't make a for sure promise on this, since I am quite busy, don't know the system very well, and have never GM'd before but... if you have any notes send them my way and I'll see what I can do.
For what's its worth, you all helped me through a very stressful time in my life so.... I figure I can take a tentative crack at GMing in exchange.

Don't worry, the Fate system is really user friendly. If you have any questions about it I can answer them, as Fate is my favorite system, and the one I have the most experience with.
Nah, most likely Jamie will be a background character now. I never really liked the idea of having a GM PC. Feels a bit too much like cheating. I know the Fate system doesn't really work like that, but it still feels like it.
What I'll do with him, if I can find a way to go through with this, is still in the air at the moment. All I know is I won't be playing him or using him as an NPC in active missions.
That's very sweet of you all. And I can take care of story and s***. I'm on my phone right now, so I can speak to you too later about these things. However, I wanted to be noted that your offers are very appreciated.
I apologize for the double post. I'm going to start writing some of the overall plot tomorrow. A tutorial mission and stuff like that. I'm still not a hundred percent sure how to make combat and stuff like that, but I can work on it. I'm mostly posting this to let you guys know that this isn't dead.
Oh and I have to veto the whole plus 3 during the full moon thing for one character. Like if it was just + 3 to say one particular skill Maybe, or two skills or something like that I would let it pass. However, there's just too broad of an application there.
I like what you're going for here, it's just way too op as it stands right now.

Anyways, I am chunking away at what plot I have going on here, though I am trying to keep it more on the vague side rather than super detailed since I am new to all this. I have a pretty good idea what I am going to do with Jamie, and I am working on some missions that you might have to (suffer) complete (for my amusement). I am also giving further thought to the overall structure of Section Nine, how it would work in this kind of world and blaa blaa blaa, background stuff etc etc.
Let me get to the good parts that you care about. Well, I am working on the intro. So far, it is looking like I will give you guys a post or two's worth of downtime just to allow your characters to interact. Normally, this would be a terrible idea since this would be boring as shit. However, looking over your characters that their backgrounds... yeah, I expect that you guys will create your own conflict for a little bit.
I do have some questions for the group though.
Since I have taken over as the GM, what should I do thread wise? Currently, Taro is still the OP and thus all those tools are in his hands and whatnot. Now, since this is the OOC page, we might not have to worry so much about thread marks and stuff, but there might be some toys that I would miss. Outside of that, I will create the IC thread once the speech, characters, and first mission are all done. Should I make a new OOC thread for this, is there a way Taro can transfer power, or should I just use it as is and deal with it?
Will me creating the IC thread, now that I am the GM, bring out the wrath of Mod? I am not plagiarizing, but it might seem like it.
I had, a few times, noted that some characters might want to keep what they find in skill checks a secret. Now, this is more an opinion poll more than anything, but how do you feel about me dolling out skill check information via PM rather than stated here in the OCC thread? If all of you tell me it's pointless than I won't, but I might choose to do so if you don't mind for plot reasons. For example, telling a character what roll they need to surpass an obstacle will most likely be posted here, but things that Kensai mind reads off of people would be secret unless they chose to reveal it.
Finally, I am only a bit off of finishing my preliminary notes. So, barring any new entries, I should be done relatively soon. However, I will send a few days notice here before the post begins that way we can all know who all will be playing that session. If you can't make it just let me know.
With that said, I will get back to my note writing.
Werewolf Transformation: When exposed to the light of a full moon, Veronica must transform into a werewolf, upon which she gains the following Super Powers, but all other stunts are locked off:
--> Basic Natural Weapon. Drawback: Only Good Up Close.
--> Basic Super Strength. Drawback: Has To Readjust Her Entire Fighting Style To Accommodate Lycanthropy
--> Basic Super Senses, Smell. Drawback: Has To Know What The Target Smells Like First --> Theme: Super-Form
If it has been more than approximately 48 hours since she last took the S9-developed werewolf anti-berserk drug LYC-4, when this Stunt goes into effect, she obviously goes berserk and is under the GM's control as a hostile NPC until she is either subdued somehow, loses interest in the current situation and goes for easier prey, or the transformation wears off.
Basically, the last stunt gives you traits and drawbacks while also being a final hour upgrade?
Hmmm. Here's what I will do with ya here. You can have this, but it acts as a secondary character sheet. When the full moon hits, you go all wolfy with this stuff, plus add a plus 1 to Physique because of your all wolfy and shit. However, you will need to take a drawback in simplifying your thinking for a bit. Your anti-berserk medication works just like that, it keeps you from losing all your chill and killing everything everywhere. However, while you won't be... dumb per say, it will be harder to think up complicated solutions. Plus, people will piss themselves looking at ya. I will allow you to do things like using physique to help boost tracking rolls. You know, like werewolves do. Otherwise, Section Nine might make lycanthropy mandatory or at least promote it.
Can you work with that compromise, or do we need further negotiations here? I want you to have fun, without being too much of a balance breaker. So I allowed the werewolves physical upgrades but made your social life a lot harder. Are you willing to make that trade-off?

Ehhhh, I like you guys but trust? No offense but... I personally have read many a spoiler not meant for myself, so how can I trust you guys?
I don't think there is a way for Taro to transfer Mod privileges to you Rune. Pm's are ok for me, though. Staff communication is a thing though, so you could ask them for a way for Taro to transfer OP privileges. Barring that though, the safest option is to simply create a new OOC thread.
Rune, try creating a thread in this thread. Only staff members can see the threads made there and they will respond to any inquires within the next 3 days or so. If they don't, simply post in your thread again to remind them.
