Section Nine [Fate Core - Interest Check]

When Missions end, what would be cool features to cap things off?

  • Personal Interviews (Discussed in PM in Character them the Player posts them)

  • Mass Debriefing section (all of the players and relevant NPCs talking about what went down)

  • Off time (1-2 sessions of off time just spent relaxing with eachother and NPCs (Slice of LIfe))

  • GM written( A final recap and summery post, highlights or redacting certain acts)

  • These are all lame, lets just go from one mission to the other for maximum fun Rune!

I'll probably have this be Sigurd's first time meeting everyone. The initial meeting is one of the big points that I use for characterization. Mmm, Should I try and right the Norwegian accent or just say he has one.

Huh, waaaa. Has someone summoned me from the writers room?

Oh, yeah, totally. Just make up a character sheet and as long as it is not OP bullshit or something along those lines then it should be fine. You have a bit to think about it.

You don't need this, but I highly recommend finding some theme music too. Just grab a song you like and roll with it, that is after you make your character that is.

Can't believe this is starting

Yep. I am flying by the seat myself, but I think I know how to run this shit down. It is happening faster since, unlike most systems, the GM has less to do honestly. It's still tentative, as I need to make sure everything is all flush and smooth, but it is indeed happening.

On a first pass your stress boxes are wrong and you're missing your stunts.

Take your time, you have until 9 central tomorrow at the very earliest. It will most likely be Saturday though, so no need to rush.

Take your time and have fun with it Hex :)

Judging by his theme, looks like he'll be joining Chung's and Rhys' merry band of tricksters.:)
Also, that character pic is Izaya, isn't it. Welp. This will be fun!!

And with the werwolf and the sniper we don't have to worry about the frontline either. :3

So far a well balanced enough squad.

(Lisp) What do you mean trickster, I am a normal person, who knows people who tell me things, It's not my problem that I sell it for unspecified amounts of money.

Just something to think about and you totally don't have to follow it.

We already have somebody who specializes in stealth. Instead of having a +4 Stealth, since your character is the information guy, maybe you could swap it for Contacts or Lore? If you're worried about the character's survivability, you could probably use a stunt that lets you use Investigate or Lore instead of Fight or Athletics. You know, a Sherlock-esque fighting style.
Also, for the stunt "I Know People", it's a bit, well, vague. The way you worded it, it basically applies to all rolls involving "finding something". So that's basically all Investigation, Notice and Contact rolls. Specify which of these rolls you want the bonus to apply to. Also, maybe put down some restrictions on when the bonus can be applied. Ex) When dealing with the criminal element, when searching for a supernatural object or when you are searching for a specific object that you have seen before.

Still needs some tweeks. Your getting there though. I'm heading to bed early today so I'll see you all in the afternoon.

Made some changes to Chung's Character Aspects so that they can be invoked by other people as well as me.

Hmm, can Crane's aspects be invoked by others?

Trusty Knife is an Item so It could be stolen, I suppose. Risk Taker definitely could be invoked by the GM and other PC's. Wanderer is a little vague as is Listen To The Buzzing. You might want to make it so what they do is a little more apparent. Basically, if you want to know if a Aspect can be invoked by somebody else, think of a way an aspect can be used against you.
Ex) Just Want To Be Loved basically ensures the loyalty of Chung to anyone who manages to forge a real friendship with him. It also means that he is extremely easy to manipulate with the promise of friendship, even if that friendship is false.

I think I know how to change 'Wanderer' to be clearer and Listen to the Buzzing could be invoked by the GM I think, since if they rule the Buzzing says something Crane has to listen to it.

Nice! One more thing I would like to say is that Character Aspects usually tell us something about the character. No Stable Home tells us that Crane really doesn't have a place to belong but what would make the aspect better is adding how we are supposed to react to that aspect or how the character reacts to the aspect. For example, changing No Stable Home to Currently Looking For A Stable Home changes how the character reacts to this aspect of his. By slightly tweaking the words of the aspect, Crane doesn't just have no home, but he is looking for one, implying that he wanders out of necessity and actually does want and desires a place to call home.
On the other hand changing No Stable Home to something like Never Had A Stable Home implies that Crane isn't at all adjusted to having a place which he can call his own and that he is awkward as a result.

Listen to the Buzzing isn't really appropriate if the GM can just order your character around willy-nilly. Must Obey The Buzzing or Unable to Resist The Buzzing would be more appropriate. Again, this aspect could be improved by tweaking the wording a bit. The above two examples make it seem like Crane is forced to obey the Buzzing and isn't exactly happy with it. Alternatively, Follower of The Buzzing implies that Crane follows the Buzzing's orders willingly.

Sorry if it feels like I'm nitpicking!:)

No worries! I actually really like this type of feedback. :D Nitpick all you want.

What would give the impression that Crane follows the Buzzing because he's never really had any other option? Since with his Eldritch Bait trouble aspect it basically means he can't live anywhere for too long unless you want an incident of increasing severity.
