Danny Hebert triggers after yet another row with the Mayor's office, developing metallokinesis strong enough to let him clear the Boat Graveyard.
  • What happens during his trigger event? Any loss of life? Any political enemies made?
  • What happens when he starts work? Who steps in to make his life more difficult - the gangs? The Protectorate? A mysterious woman in a suit?
  • How does he handle the fact that this was what made him trigger - not his wife's death, not Taylor's hospital stay, not losing friends to the gangs, but a simple argument? How does Taylor handle it?
  • What effect does his sudden ability to do half the Dockworkers' Union's work single-handedly have on his role of labour organiser?
  • What happens when Armsmaster inevitably tries to strong-arm him into the Wards Protectorate? (Note: where everyone else says "f***ing Tinkers", Tinkers say "f***ing metallokinetics"...) (Note 2: I meant to say "Protectorate" not "Wards". That's a different prompt.)

Strong arming an adult into the wards
This needs to happen

Danny can nom on metal (Eatman) and store on some dimensional space to use it later. Due to shard bullshit all metal nommed gets enhanced

Also because I want to see him do this to Echidna

Note: The Ship is Brockton BayxA Good Future but little shits like Noelle can't make that happen

Taylor triggers with the power to give bugs human-level intelligence, including the ability to talk.

(Not sure where I'm going with this, but there's definitely a Jiminy Cricket omake in there somewhere.)

...Isn't that pretty much what happened to Assault? Except that he didn't kick up too much of a fuss because it was too funny giving Battery a coronary.
I think he was going to jail. Asked for a deal. Named himself Assault to troll Battery
They strong armed him into the Protectorate, which is the adults only real-combat super hero club
The Wards is for children with powers, is not supposed to face the same kinds of deadly combat, and does not accept adult members.

Bugs- WE ARE ON STRIKE

Taylor- Noooo! You're doing it wrong! Here, I'll get my dad in to help you organise this action properly...

FTFY.

The Wards is for children with powers, is not supposed to face the same kinds of deadly combat, and does not accept adult members.

Suddenly I realise why this was funny. Will fix my original prompt.

Although, now I come to think of it... No! Bad brain! No cookie.

Edit: OK, I'll go there. New prompt: Assault is coerced into joining the Protectorate, attempts to troll Battery, Battery retaliates by insisting he be inducted into the Wards since his maturity level isn't high enough for the Protectorate proper. Everyone agrees that this is actually rather a good idea. Assault cries crocodile tears then proceeds to gang up with Clockblocker and Vista on all the responsible adults.

Shadow Stalker and Emma do the sidekick thing in a campy Adam Wesque Brockton Bay.

Shinji pilots a Pacific Rim mech with the aid of Asuka and Rei.

Hitler verses the league of time travelling assassins.

Vista is understandably sick of being viewed as the little kid despite having more experience than most of the other Wards combined. When she is passed over for promotion again - in favour of Clockblocker, of all people - she decides she's had enough.

Leaving the Wards, and going full anti-hero, she proceeds to cut a swathe through the town's villains. With her newly-triggered sidekick Chitin*, she is gonna kick ass, take names, and show Piggy why age-based leadership is a bloody stupid idea.

* On reflection I really like this name. If I can include it in enough prompts, maybe it'll become a thing?

I think it would be funnier with danny

That could work. If Gallant isn't around of course all he needs is to sit down and ask her not too go Vista follows like a puppy

People tend to forget memetic badass Vista was only after Leviathan- in which Aegis and Gallant died.

If Gallant isn't around of course all he needs is to sit down and ask her not too go Vista follows like a puppy

Actually I see Gallant as one of the breaking points. Despite being insanely overpowered, despite being experienced, despite being precisely the kind of Ward I would want watching my back if I were a cape, he still overlooks her for some violent floozy in a tiara.

Maybe if the gloves come off he'll finally start seeing her as something other than a kid sister - after all, apparently a willingness to maim criminals is a turn-on for him. Failing that, he can fuck right off. Vista is too hard-core to let heartbreak turn her angsty.

Glory Girl actually feels threatened by Vista. Cue epic bitching from both sides.

Tattletale actually has Broadcaster instead of Negotiator(?). Cue her recruiting people at hilariously inopportune times.

PS We need to think up a cool name for anti-hero Vista. (I'm guessing that the trademark to the name "Vista" probably resides with the Protectorate.) There has to be a suitably dark way of branding someone with the ability to twist space like taffy.

"Nexus" rings nicely.

This thread. Yes.

> Nilbog is sad. Why does nobody want to play with him and his children? He decides to go find them some playmates. That Skitter girl seems nice, taking care of the little crawlies like that...

> Ziz shows up in Eidolon's quarters, and tells him she's over her rebellious teenage phase and would like to reconcile with her dad.

> All of the hammy and/or 'difficult' Taylors get dimensionally displaced. Armsmaster has a headache.

When Thomas Calvert visited Winslow High for a routine "don't be a villain" cape safety talk, he didn't expect to stumble across a girl trapped in a locker full of biohazards and crawly things. Nor did he expect to find himself immediately empathising with her. (Flashbacks to Ellisberg are sufficient to overcome his power-induced moral apathy.)

And he is frankly shocked to find himself - both as Calvert and as Coil - accidentally becoming an avuncular mentor to new independent hero Chitin* and her much-bullied alter-ego Taylor. What effect will this have on Taylor? What effect will it have on Calvert?

* Why does everyone go for "Weaver" as a heroic name? There are much cooler bug-related words out there.

I would read this as an actual story.

Skitter promptly talks Nilbog into helping her take out Empire 88, on the grounds that bigotry is bad whether it's based on race, beliefs, the colour of your skin, or being a grotesque bio-tinkered monstrosity. Director Piggott promptly has a coronary.

Someone triggers with children card games

Then someone tries to be Worm'd about it and well as long as they are games and in the rules? Fine.

But out means shit like Blue Eyes White Dragon flying easy so everyone has to play due to the rules of X Cape or else everything goes boom

X Cape doesn't control the rules obviously.

Probably Las Vegas trigger?
