Yeah I forgot to mention that, the only way they might take us on is if we have up the blade, which combined with our pride and the fact that we'd have to hold it across the Land of Fire and the Land of Earth, yeah no way that's happening.
I would like to go Uzushio at some point but I feel like we'd have to steal a boat for that for that to happen, not many captains would be interested in going to a ruined ninja village I feel.

It was a disaster.
You had gone to the doctor with nothing but what little money you had left. To beg for him to help save your brother's life...
Instead he recognized you from a rumor that had spread since your parents died. About young red haired children… Uzumaki that would be worth a fortune in the right hands.
Shirou lost consciousness in your arms as the doctor tried to drug you.
You punched him back.
As you fled, you only heard a scream, a punch that sent the man flying backwards, a scream that was only met by silence.
And an even louder scream.
You only learned from a rumor… that you killed the doctor.
And that the land was going to hunt you down for justice.
The only thing you were thankful for, was that Shirou was unconscious… and unable to see the grisly sight of… blood and bone.
Failure.
Reward: Detection roll increased by 30 this turn.
Disaster Rolls have now begun, and will not stop until you have fled the country, or you are dead… or rescued by a more friendly force.
Your hunter may become something far worse in the coming turn.

If there was one thing that you got out of the chaos of a murdered doctor… it was all his medical supplies.
And his money.
And even a few jutsu scrolls for basic medical ninjutsu, and how to craft your own medicine from the local herbs.
Reward: You are well supplied enough to Flee the Land of Hot Springs. For greener pastures.
Shirou will survive his sickness this turn and will be fully healthy.

I'm not sure if we can only go to the adyacent Lands, so i'll go with rice, despite this though, i think we should try to go towards Konoha, being the safest we will ever be in comparasion.

Ah, this is some good Magoose stuff. A setting where crazy shit can happen, room to get strong, and us as the little fish. When you want to gamble with your every move, there's none better to be your GM. Willing to shower you with rewards and throw you to the wolves as the dice command.
Hopefully things stay on the OG Naruto end of things for a long while, and don't escalate to shippuden level craziness. My suspension of disbelieve weakens when we get too strong, which can ruin the fun of Magoose's wild rides.
@Magoose which timeline dating method are you using for this time period? The one that gives Minato a few years to rule as the Fourth Hokage, or the one that tries to use Itachi's backstory to date things? The former often makes more sense, but the later has more canon support (not that it means too much since the timeline is pretty shit pre-canon). There's probably some other ways to date this time period, but those are the ones I know the best off the top of my head.

Hopefully things stay on the OG Naruto end of things for a long while, and don't escalate to shippuden level craziness. My suspension of disbelieve weakens when we get too strong, which can ruin the fun of Magoose's wild rides.

Surprised we can even change when that happens, although I'm morbidly curious -- can that date get changed around because of net positive and net negative events occurring for us? I have trouble seeing us able to make that big of a change happen without something really good, really bad, and/or both happening to us.

If Minato is still alive, after October 10th something very wrong has occurred in Konoha.
Like Naruto, Kushina, and half the village is wounded/dead wrong.

Huh, that actually sounds like an interesting plot, especially since it sounds like something that could be used to make Konoha the bad guys in a story.

So many dead, just as the wounds of the war were beginning to heal. A loss felt all the more by Minato, for even with all of his power, he failed to save his family. But in his darkest moments, a hand reaches out to him.

The world is cruel. It takes and takes and takes, and we're forced to keep on living anyway. The Shodai ended the endless wars between clans, but his dream of peace failed to take root. We spill blood for that stillborn dream, but we only sow the seeds for the next bloody harvest. They're already probing for weakness, hoping to take more.
Do you tire of just waiting for it? Wondering why you're still alive while so many have died? Asking if the world really needs to be this way?
It doesn't. We can break the cycle. All it takes is to do what has never been done, and what none think possible.

lol, that got away from me. Basically Minato goes full Danzo, without his crippling issue of making threats in his own village when he already has plenty outside it. May or may not include Danzo actually being Zetsu and other plot twists to tie in the crazy endgame stuff.
