This looks interesting, I think I'll take Katakama.
[X] Fishing Dock (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/1 pop)
Their bordering right on what I assume to be the ocean, so having a fishing dock built there makes sense.
I volunteer for Wakasa.
[X] Blacksmith Workshops (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/ 1 pop)
Gonna make all the swords. *hums happily* (I mean, I might be Doing This Wrong since no one's mining yet, but...?)
[X] Barracks (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/1 pop)
Well this is interesting.
Shimogofor me
Edit: didn't realize they weren't available. I'll take the Shiga.
I like the flag and location of the Tomi clan, so I'll take that.
[X] Hunting Lodge
(Warning: My country is going through a very strange shit and the government is leaving the population without electricity. So, if I do not answer in 2 or 3 days, consider me dead.)
This seems interesting, and easy enough to keep up with, so I am in as Konan.
I am unsure what direction to go, but lets start with securing some building ressources.
[X] Lumber Camp (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/1 pop)
[X] Lumber Camp (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/1 pop)
I'll take the Weisaki if that's available. Seems a really interesting idea.

I will take Chizu!
Chizu
[X] Iron Mine (Cost: 2 Coin/1 Turn/1 pop)

[X] Buying 1 wood for 1 coin from @Mortenkam (confirmed) and then selling it as 1 wooden weapons for 1 coin to @triumph8w (confirmed)
Changed my mind about buying roads this turn - I really want to get them asap, but I think an inn works better right now due to my trade strategy.

Just to give you a guys an idea of what I plan to do, I'll be expanding the Fishing Dock into a Cove next turn so hopefully in the future It'll be a way to trade resources via the ocean as well as provide some much needed food.

Questions:
- Is the coin per turn cost of army units ongoing (that is, we have to have a separate pay-the-troops tax base)? And if there are ongoing costs, can we dismiss the units later?
- Will army units be produced automatically or do we need to specify?
- Will troops automatically defend the borders/our neighboring provinces, or do we need to make specific mutual defense treaties?
- Does the inn require a unit of population to manage it, or do I have two free? Can I use my blacksmith population for something else if they're not blacksmithing this turn?

I'll write up an in character perspective later. Thanks for the description of the terrain, looks like the Weisaki prefecture is perfect for horse husbandry. I'll probably look into building the Great Tree next to expand my lumber production. If anyone's interested in trade feel free to @ me.

- @Darik29 please ride with the Chizu in this battle, and best of luck! Come back for more armor repairs afterwards.
- Do I need to build roads to Mimasaka and Shimogo to trade with them?
- Do I have a food shortage with this turn build? How urgent is this?

[X] Accept Uhtreads Coin to carry his banner in the coming battle.
The night before there departure, the Band gathers at a local peasants tavern for drinks. A full season of decent work and an honest wage has helped fill out the once half starved frames of these men, and the local Daimyō was more than happy to have there arms and armor at least looked over and mostly repaired.
The band shared drinks as they remember all that they've survived, and at the end of the night the bands Leader is browbeaten into taking up the name of the previous Boss, in honor of his sacrifice.
Thus, when the band sets out the next morning, it is led by Takeru Takamichi, nameless no longer!

Would something like this work?
Logistics and supplies can often decide the success of a campaign. And having a mutually beneficial trade while aiding the realm would be most fruitful. I'm not planning on charging extra, the volume of trade with so many armies is enough should this action be allowed.
Edit: I'm hoping it boosts the action against the raiders as well
[X] Tamehara's Wandering Priests

Yeah, I figured. Priests get charity, Merchants have pack beasts and carts, and Musicians can make music to get by.
Ronin, unless they have horses or something, likely have to work as they travel. Like, the only way I can see my guys getting the speed of the other units outside of horses is if they team up to guard a Merchant caravan while it's moving, or something.
Or maybe learn how to walk through the Underworld from a Jorogumo, or pay an Oni Smith to make Seven League Boots, or earn the favor of the Kami of the Land to travel his own secret roads, or...
Okay, there are a Lot of ways to travel fast in a Wuxia type setting. Never mind me.

The issue arises in turn Turn 3 where I don't have enough population and wood to complete both buildings. With the Ancient Great Tree down-payment incomplete. Since negative wood makes little sense I imagine I've invested the coin in scouting the site of a Great Tree, but haven't the required resources and labour in order to finish the sites consecration. Meaning I would still be required to pay +1 wood and +1 population in order to complete it's construction, with addition of any penalties you think should be added. Removing -1 from the Ledger so it'll look like below. Changes in are underlined in the spoilers below.
End Turn 3 –
Buildings
Rice Paddy (1 Pop Assigned)
Lumber Camp (1 Pop Assigned)
Fishing Dock ( 1 Pop Assigned)
Cove Outpost (1 Pop Assigned)

0 Gold (-4 from construction, +5 gold next turn)
(The additional +1 comes from the Cove Outpost)

1 Food (-4 from Pop, +6 next year)Just makes things simpler without having to change any plans but I'm still required to pay the required resources in order to finish what I plan to construct. Thoughts? @LopEnd of Turn 4 - Weisaki

After the fighting, word spread about the band's presence in the battle. They've nearly doubled in size from other dispossessed Ronin seeking honorable employment, and now Takeru has heard of a bandit problem over in Nagiso that should make an excellent shakedown run of there new people.
Also, since Nagiso is right next to Chizu, there doesn't need to be a turn stopping over in another province.

To Shogun Oda Motoyori
I am doing better sense we last saw each other. The cut to my side hurts less now, i'm told it will make for a nice scar. Though it has only reminded me that i will need a son soon, i would be failing in my duties otherwise. So i thank you for graciously allowing me to marry your daughter, Tome. In regards to these strange giants among the enemy, i am currently looking for ways to counter them. Or, perhaps employ them.
It was an honor to fight by your side.

Other Notes
- @Darik29 Next turn I will have a recruiting station finished and would like to hire your ronin band. @Lop is that allowed in the game mechanics? I will pay them as a regular ronin band.
- @Vanestus I'm nearly certain that roads only need to be built once between two prefectures. I have connected our whole region and I believe you have roads to all your neighbors. @Lop?
I am selling 1 iron weapons this turn, who wants them? I can trade with anyone due to merchants.- @Lop When I build the forge quarters, is that an upgrade to the blacksmith workshop or a separate building? I'm wondering if I'll be able to have 1 pop working on wooden weapons in one building while I have 1 pop working on iron weapons in the other.
Well if the QM says to do something then it's a good idea to do that thing.
[X] Travel to Mimasaka, perform at the wedding.

This also apply to the Shinto Temple, Tea House and Roads, right?
btw, what are benefits of get marry besides having an heir? For example, if someone were to marry Shogun's military son, would he be allowed to build a free war building or obtain a free random unit?

[x] Send an envoy to Mimasaka to look for a spouse
[x] Road (Shiga)
[x] Yes
Couple questions @Lop : When road in the build list refers to having a "direct" road, what does that mean? To make what I'm asking clearer, for example, if there was a road from kameyama to shiga and from shiga to weisaki, but there is no road from kameyama to weisaki, would kameyama be able to trade with weisaki every turn?
Are quarries seperate buildings to mines or are the mines converted? I think you answered this before but I don't remember the answer and finding it is a bit of a pain.
Well, given how the routes laid out, I'm going to make a stopover in the Capitol itself while traveling to Tomi. Might get to meet up with those Samurai who we fought with in Chizu!

Am I still a Ronin Band, GM? My guys were hired on as retainers of Lady Wakasa, doesn't a Ronin with a master become a Samurai again? Or am I way off base?

Other Notes and Questions
- @Lop
- Do the scouting parties automatically find people, or will you tell us if it succeeds?
- Did I make a clear enough note that I'm pulling people out of my lumber camp this turn to work on construction?
There's still time for Chizu or Shiojiri to get a road building bounty for a Chizu-Shiojiri road.I still have 1 wooden weapons for sale this turn.
Again, no one want wood or coin for food? Wood for stone is also good!
